Punta Cana August 2019
Our stay at Dreams was really terrific. Very laid back atmosphere - unless you are on the beach the peddlers really try to sell you everything from cigars to shell...don't take their first offer...you can definitely bargain with them. Rafael the bartender at the swim up bar was top notch. He remembered our drink order, he greeted us with a smile every time and was just all around a great bartender. There was never a lack of food - everyday they put out food near the pool, which was out of this world. There is also a hut on the beach which served hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. The World Cafe is a buffet style restaurant and there is absolutely something for everybody! We definitely did not go hungry. The staff was friendly and attentive and always greeted us with a smile. The highlight of our trip was doing the SeaPro Excursion - you snorkel, swim with sharks, and visit stingrays, and hang out in the water (sandbar type experience). Our family LOVED this - the crew took excellent care of everything - drinks, snacks, and smiles and they shared a lot of knowledge about the area. They provided great instructions about what to do and not do in the water when we were snorkeling. I highly recommend doing this as it is something our family will remember forever. Our family almost cancelled this trip -- I am sooooo glad we didn't cancel - we had the BEST time!
Since being here at Dreams, Palm Beach we have received outstanding service especially from Waiter Ambiorix. He has provided excellent customer service and works terribly hard to make sure that customers are ok and will bend over backwards to assist you no matter what you require. BEST WAITER EVERRRR.. Top Guy!!
the best resort ever
stayed there for the 10th time for 10 days and we had the best time with our family. the staff is absolutely superb , friendly and helpful. too many to name, but Ms. ingrid and Mr. Nava, concierge. lily, mr. wilson. juan carlos, santa and the list goes on and on. dont know if we can come again because of my husbands age and loss of sight but the memories will last us for the rest of our lives THANK YOU ALL
Lovely hotel but not quite 5*
Had a lovely stay but wouldn’t compare it to other 5* hotels we’ve stayed in across the Caribbean recently. The rooms are quite run down in certain areas and showing signs of damp in the bathroom we had. We paid for the preferred club but our preferred club mini bar extras were only topped up once a week. We were unable to use our tropical view balcony at all throughout our two week stay as we were right next to the back of a staff area and one of the restaurants and so every time we opened we opened our door it stunk of coking oil and chip fat and burgers- it was totally unusable! Such a shame, should not be sold as a room especially in an upgraded preferred club section! Lovely staff who really make your stay and are friendly regardless of whether you tip of not but of course a tip is appreciated. Great selection of al a cart restaurants, only shame was the Mexican had no vegetarian selection so my family couldn’t try it. The preferred club family pool was really nice and chilled which me and my family really appreciate on holiday. When we did walk round to the main pool and the swim up pool it was always very lively and full and often there were people on the grass with beds that had been dragged up from the beach. This is much less our style so I am glad we paid for the upgrade. In the evening we wanted to use the preferred bar which was just the preferred lounge with a small bar at the back. This was a shame as it just had a few sofas in and two tables outside. When there were a couple of family’s If then was full and not really anywhere to fit. However, when we walked round to the adults only preferred bar it was huge and was a proper bar area bur there was hardly ever anyone in there so it was a wasted space and staff were just stood doing nothing. This bigger bar should be opened up to all preferred guests in the evening as we have all paid our money to be preferred and it would be nine to have a proper bar area to sit in and have a drink in. Overall a lovely, relaxed holiday with some lovely aspects just not quite the 5* we usually look for.
While the resort itself is “mature” (the 1st in Punta Cana from what we were told), the grounds are beautiful, the food is great and the staff makes it an exceptional place to stay. Our expectations were quite high after visiting the Now Sapphire in Cancun in 2017 and we expected the Dreams to be above that. The facility was not quite as nice as Now Sapphire but you cannot find better people for sure!! The entertainment staff - Willy Wonka, Beyoncé, Francisco P, Little B, and Super Jordan were a blast! Even though they picked me for EVERY audience participation and activity! Find Franklin H at the Manatee / Sugar Reef bar and you’ll get a perfect drink. Richard C will help you out with a smile at the Barefoot Grill or one of the restaurants at dinner. Benjamin was definitely helpful as concierge - making suggestions and getting us what we needed. The cleaning staff sometimes forgot to leave more towels when they took the used away, and we could do without the SeaPro guys drumming up business at poolside but we loved our time at the resort and never felt unsafe! We would definitely recommend visiting here.
