    Fairmont by the Sea

There are so many reasons to love this hotel. Its typically Fairmont but beautifully set in grounds right by the Ocean with the most idyllic sunset you will ever see. Green turtes rest on the foreshore at night. The grounds are beautifully kept, the pool bar restaurant and gym are all very good. The staff are friendly, helpful and you get a sense of welcome. Valets greet you often with "welcome home". There are two shopping complexes nearby offering more restaurants and a few boutiques and gift shops. The best menu at the Fairmont Orchid is the rooms service menu which makes no sense but it's a good one. Has some much more choice than all the restaurants put together and not too expensive. Hale Kai for outdoor dining at sunset it lovely. Never tried Brown. Coffe shop for some reason has less choices than it used to which is annoying. Pool service, food and drink, is good. My only negative is that its expensive. Depending on time of year, month or availability of deals.....very expensive and as a result that makes it poor value for money at times. If we return, we will plan ahead and be more considered. That said you can find deal and rates with +/- $200 if your flexible on dates. Also the hotel can host large conferences which gives the Hotel a very weird non holiday vibe when the pool is empty during the day and bar packed at night. Overal though, you will have an amazing time at the Fairmont Orchid. I would recommend it as caveated above. It's a lovely place you will make memories here you wont forget.

Trying to book a suite, but no one will return my calls or email. What is the deal with this place?

I sent this email to Orchid yesterday after not getting any response to my three phone calls. When I told the receptionist about my inability to connect with anyone, she connected me to another voicemail. Still haven't been acknowledged. MY EMAIL: I spoke with Kylie last weekend and she was very helpful in educating me about the Fairmont Orchid. She quoted me a rate of XXX pre tax and fees for five nights in the two-bedroom Presidential Suite in the North Tower. Because the rate is non-refundable, I asked if I could call back after checking on airfare. I booked my airfare and now want to reserve the room, but I am unable to do so online or via your 800 reservation number. I have left three messages with in-house reservations (two with Kylie) and have not heard back. Can someone please assist me? If this isn't going to work out, I have a small window to cancel my airfare, so this is urgent.

    Overall very positive

We were there for business & pleasure. The ammenities are very good, & the bathrooms delightful! The grounds are well kept, & the pool was fabulous. More than usual was offered at the breakfast buffet & of good quality. Didn’t like the food down by the beach bar... near the pool. $16 USA for a tasteless tofu roll... didn’t go back to eat there after that - I love tofu & that was plain & bad! But otherwise fabulous! Plenty of places to eat nearby. There’s a supermarket within walking distance - say 1mile (one way) & there are bikes to hire. There’s no mini bar - but at least you can stock the fridge to your liking! Loved it!

Amazing, amazing hotel - had the best experience here

I stayed at the Fairmont because the Chopra Center had a retreat here. What an amazing property and hotel. Just beautiful grounds. I had a massage at the Spa in their Spa without walls and it was so relaxing (tip book early or late if it's hot during the day). The food was amazing and the Executive room was a real treat. The room had crisp, clean A/C and the customer service was excellent. The hotel seemed large but was well planned as there are plenty of stairs and elevators to get around. There was also music at night near one of the restaurants.
