Worth every Penny!
From beginning to end, this hotel was incredible. The staff were all extremely accommodating, very friendly, and were on top of our requests. Beautiful property with the beach a short walk away. We will stay here anytime we visit Maui.
This hotel is good as far as the staff that works here (valet, housekeeping, pool attendants, etc) but the upper management sucks. I booked a room through hotwire and when i got the hotel for check in... they told me half the resort was closed for pool renovations. (Activity pool) how come i wasn’t notified of this when i actually booked the hotel. I went to complain to guest relations at 7am the day after i checked in, realized the magnitude of what i was limited to on my stay as we checked in day before when the sun already set. I complained to a manager telling her this is unfair to spend over $600 dollars for two nights and have limit access to the resort without advanced notice or warning that during my stay the activity pool will be closed. I told her communication should be better. She told me they did there best to let third party vendors know of this closing and called everyone and that its not under there control. I did not receive one notification of this closing till the day i checked in. I asked the manager and told her i was upset about this lack of communication on their part and that i would like some sort of compensation for this ordeal. I said it didnt have to be monetary. She said they are not offering any compensation for this but she would discuss my case at executive level with upper management and she would call Me with updates. At 3pm she called and said I discussed your case with upper management and they said at this point we are not offering any compensation for your ordeal. I think this is hard to believe considering you are a 5 star resort... i didnt even ask for monetary compensation, all i asked was something they can offer me to make my stay more pleasant while i am here or something they can do to make me feel better about the situation. After spending over 600 dollars for two nights and you cant offer any sort of appreciation/compensation... not even $1 dollars worth, i find that hard to believe coming from a 5 star resort. Even resort credit or any other resort perk would have been nice. But to flat out say NO to anything is pathetic for the type of business this is. The resort upper management should be ashamed of themselves for this decision. I will make sure i wont refer this resort to anyone. Actually i put this ordeal I experienced on my social media and a group of 10 people reached out to me asking about the resort and they are going to cancel there reservation under free cancellation policy as they were staying here in the next couple months. This experience was horrible and i hope i never have to deal with this again. This type of treatment towards there guests is unfair, even though i was upset, i was going out my way to tip the staff. I did my due diligence as a guest but did upper management do theres? NO... such a shame, will never stay here again and if your reading this review, think about changing your plans!
Great time! Hotel is always amazing! Love the adult pool. Lunch pool side food was prompt & delicious. Staff provided cold water & drinks all day long. Rooms quiet & very clean. Beds very comfortable.
We stayed here for 5 nights on a multi-island trip to Hawaii from the UK. First impressions were 'wow' and they continued to be that throughout our stay. The property, surroundings and facilities were fabulous. A very special hotel in relaxing surroundings. Would love to stay again.
WARNING - NOT WHAT YOU EXPECT FROM A WALDORF ASTORIA BRANDED RESORT
We have been coming to this resort twice a year since 2013, we are longtime Hilton Diamond members and Waldorf Elite members since 2015. Our last four trips to the resort have been a complete disaster. The first disaster included having a spa charge added to our bill for $10,000.00 in error, which ruined the second half of our vacation at the Hilton Waikiki resort. The promises made to us about the Elite membership were false. The Elite membership does not give any true "Elite" benefits. Hilton Diamond members beware because this resort does not recognize your Hilton status as all other Hilton facilities do. I have had better recognition as a Diamond member at the lowest level Hilton properties compare to this Waldorf Astoria resort. The restaurants are extremely expensive, with limited menus, and we have sent back food more than once. As I am writing this review, my wife and I are here to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. This resort has literally ruined our anniversary today and the compensation offered was 50K Hilton points, which won't even cover a single night at the resort. As a Hilton Diamond member, I have always had good experiences at Hilton Hotels, however this Waldorf Resort does not even equal the service I have had at a Hilton Garden Inn. The management of this resort should be ashamed of themselves for treating Hilton Diamond members and their own Elite members this way. We loved this resort for many years, but the customer services is now horrible.
