Thank You Dreams
Where to start. I know I can only write on my personal experience, but I find it hard to believe any of these bad reviews. My wife and I are regular travelers and have been to many resorts and I have to say this resort sits at the top of our list. We travelled to dreams this past week with our 5 month old, 2 year old and 8 other family members for my father's 60th. Our experience was perfect. Staff- every single person (whether they were fluent in English or not) said hello, smiled and helped you with whatever you need. We never met an employee who didn't offer to pick up our stroller when we approached stairs or offer to carry our plates while at the buffet and holding a kid. Restaurants- we never ate at the Italian, but the Japanese, Mexican, seaside and oceans were excellent. Meals were at par with sandals. The buffet exceeded my expectations for buffet food and the bare foot grill was the perfect touch if you didn't want to leave the pool. The cafe had amazing ice cream and coffee as well. The property - this took the cake. The property is the nicest grounds ive ever seen. It's big, it's beautiful, it's perfectly laid out. We had a gorgeous view from our room, but it was above most of the nightly entertainment. It was definitely on the louder side when trying to put the kids to bed at 8pm, but they seemed to sleep right through it every night. The beach was amazing and the pools, we rotated pools everyday for a change of scene. My only complaint would be directed to the other guests. Why people think they have the right to lay a towel down on a lounger, take off for hours and claim that chair for the day is ridiculous. Always lots of available space on the beach. The ground overall were extremely beautiful and well kept. Overall we had an amazing experience with this resort and an amazing time. My wife and I would love to go back without the kids one day and experience the night life at the resort.
Outstanding Service and Very Beautiful
I was at this resort during the 4th of July for eight days. This resort is beautiful and the pools are marvelous. The staff service and hospitality can make or break a great vacation. The staff made my vacation one of the most memorable and favorite. Stathis from the Unlimited Vacation Club met me as soon as I got out of the car. He recognized my Impression Black status and rolled out the red carpet for me. Stathis did everything in his power to make sure my vacation was great. He would go over-and-above and text me to make sure I was enjoying myself and to see if I needed anything. Well done Stathis. Well done!
Amazing staff and food!
The resort exceeded my expectations in service and food. I can gladly say every restaurant was my favorite! I have been to many AM resorts by now and always complain about the food. The service in the Mexico resorts is always exceeding but the food always lacked seasoning and taste. This resort however was not the case. The variety in breakfast options was always there, the dining options were also never dull. The staff was amazing always attentive, always very helpful, polite and caring. The only negative I have to say is that the Preferred club members continue to have to push for the services promised when signing up. Early check in continues to be non existent for us, as well as late check out. When we called to book our trip we strictly asked for two adjoining rooms and when we got there we were told we were going to be in separate buildings! The rooms were of course different categories but they told us over the phone with our upgrade we would be placed in same rooms adjacent to each other. We had a problem getting that unless we payed extra per night. A complete joke for Preferred members that already pay a lot of money per month for this. We went along with it but spoke to a different manager who was great and filed a claim to help us get a refund. Stathis is great he listened to our concern and helped us with our situation. He understands as members we should be given what promised. Other than that I have to say the resort it’s self is by far the best AM resort we have been to. We will likely return.
The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. My favorite restaurant was the Mexican el patio, the buffet was basically the same thing every night. There are several pools and to me thats the highlight of this hotel. The drinks were good. The room was comfortable but very dark. I would put all the light on in my room and it was still so dark. Overall I had a great time at the pool. The beach sand was filled with rocks and pebbles everywhere. The beach water was muddy. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Our family had a great time. The resort has a lot of options to take advantage of and we took advantage. We went on excursions to the waterfalls and hot springs and also the fishing charter. Through the resort we mountain biked, paddleboarded, kayaked, shuffleboard, went down their water slide, yoga on the beach, danced and sang with a great ska band, saw a fire show and water volleyball in the pool. The food was hit or miss, after a couple days we figured out what the hits were. The service at the restaurants was terribly slow (2:15) for dinner one night. The mosquitos were bad at certain times of the day. The staff was hit or miss as well, some great, some just doing what they had to. Sales pitch says they will give you money for an excursion (which they did) for listening for 90 min which turned into 3 hours which others said as well. Costa Rica is a beautiful place that is still wild, natural and doesn't reek of cheesy tourism. The locals on the beach will bug you for excursions with them, but their prices are 1/2 what the resort charges for the same stuff (fishing, jet skiing) although their is no insurance with them so depends on your comfort level. Save your spot early by the pool if you want one. I'm glad we did this trip and it is a cool way to experience Costa Rica, set your expectations appropriately and have a good time. Pura Vida!
