We stayed at the Laylow for a long weekend. We got there in the afternoon and our room wasn't ready. The manager had us go to the restaurant and have a free appetizer on the house while we waited for the room. They came and got us when our room was ready. That was very nice. The room was on the 15th floor and we could see the ocean between the buildings - in fact had a great view of the Friday night firework show from our balcony. If you went out onto the balcony, there was a better view of the ocean and the pink Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Each morning in the hallway were croissants or danishes along with juice and coffee. There were cookies at night. The room was a great size with a comfortable king bed and futon coach. My only complaint - the furniture was all very low and not great lighting. The bathroom was a good size with a great walk-in shower. The location is perfect, right next to the International Market, lots of restautants around. It was odd to have to take an outside escalator or elevator to the open lobby. Nice small pool area that was very popular.
Great Hotel! Great service!
The rooms were very clean and their are lots of great amenities. The free shave ice is great! The service was awesome as well. Manager Ashley Westerdahl was very informative and very helpful throughout our stay!
Great location! Some improvements
Stayed at the Laylow over 4th of July weekend. It is in a great location. About 10-15 minute walk to Waikiki Beach and steps away from Maurkame Udon and next door to The Street restaurant. Plenty of food and places to eat. Easy check in and as a platinum member they upgraded me to the 15th floor. Things to improve: The snack area on the 15th floor is pretty sad. Not much to offer. I did ask that why the sparkling water was warm. But nothing was done to fix it. Also I was unsure if parking on Sunday’s was free or not. But no one from the hotel staff could give me a straight answer. I think I bit the bullet on $6 since it look like no one paid. Despite that I would stay here again for the location. Pro tip: If you plan on leaving early in the morning to go hiking..etc...I suggest parking your car at Waikiki Parking Garage for $25 or the Hyatt Centric Parking Garage for $15. $38 parking is just too much! Plus it is a 1 min walk to the hotel.
Wonderful place in awesome location!
We stayed at the Laylow for a couples trip to Waikiki and we're glad we did! It's super high quality and classy, but not snooty. The bar is a wonderful place, above ground in an open courtyard next to the restaurant. They do live music every night. The drinks are really well made and strong. Our main bartender, Lindsey, was a great guy and made really good drinks. He also gave us a lot of tips and info about the island. The restaurant breakfast is everything a vacation breakfast dreams are made of. Big ass wonderful pancakes, really good sausage, fresh eggs. Their bloody merry has f*king bacon it in it! Yes! Our main front-desk people where Hokukani and Rachel. They went above and beyond. They even spent half an hour helping me find my zip-bag when I left it at the bar the night before (like a drunky). Besides that they were both efficient and helpful. The room was everything you'd expect from an autograph collection hotel. Very clean and crisp place. When we had trouble with the wifi they sent a tech guy out, Johnathan, to help us log in. Really great The hotel is also in the middle of really good restaurants and bars. There's a nice little grocery store next door with a bar in it as well.
Never wanted to leave
Wonderful check in, friendly smiling faces and given fresh pineapple and cool clothes. Meena concierge was very helpful in suggestions. All staff was friendly, happy and helpful and worked really hard to remember our likes. They all seemed to enjoy their job. Room on 16 floor, executive hall. Had coffee, hot and cold water, and snacks. Easy walk down the hall in the hotel provided robe. Room was good sized, had a wonderfully comfy bed, low to the ground, a day bed, mini fridge and desk. We were provided a basket with snacks and slippers. There are robes in the closet for your use and I loved the body products, they smelled so good! Towels were absorbent and fluffy. Bathroom was good sized, always hot water in shower, counter space and a small hair dryer. We enjoyed the small balcony with chairs to view the ocean. Never wanted to leave and wish we were there! Small indoor/outdoor restaurant with good food, bar service and local live music. Small pool but nice deck with shade. We liked relaxing there away from the bustle of Waikiki. Easy walk to everything, including buses. Will definitely be back!
