Great Family Vacation
First family vacation outside of the United States and we loved it. My kids had plenty to do with all the activities they offered and so did I. The people there are amazing and I loved the extra security around the resort. No one was sick or has gotten sick.
Dreams can come true!
We have been home for almost a week and the holiday blues have well and truly kicked in! 😢 We travelled from the UK and stayed for 2 weeks. Check in was quick and efficient. The reception staff all very welcoming. We were given a glass of champagne on arrival! Nice touch! We were a party of 5 and we stayed in block 5. Yes this block does overlook the building work, but it seriously didn’t bother or effect us. After all we were not in the room long enough, that’s not what we go on holiday for! The rooms are clean comfortable and have drinks in the fridge, presidente beer, Coca-Cola, sprite and Fanta. The maid restocked almost daily which we tipped her for. The resort is amazing, set in lush tropical gardens, with wildlife and an amazing pool which runs the whole length of the resort almost to the beach! Mats are provided by the hotel and are perfect for leisurely floating in the sunshine with your mojito (which are incredible) whilst keeping cool. The cocktails are vast, and if you don’t see it available ask the bar staff and they will make it! Special mention to Yessina who looked after us around the pool, by regulary bringing us drinks. Yes we tipped her, but it wasn’t at all expected from her, it was well worth it for the way she looked after us. The food is great anywhere you eat. World cafe buffet restaurant has lots of choice at each meal time. We found the service to be better at breakfast and lunch, and another special mention to Frank who waited on us, and was amazing! So friendly, happy and attentive! The al a carte restaurants are all great. Our personal favourite was the Hitmisu (Japanese). Yes you wait for tables, we ate there twice and waited longest 1.5 hours, but in our opinion it’s worth the wait! The food is incredible! The resort is kept immaculately clean and tidy, all staff work tiresomely to make sure you have the most amazing holiday. They genuinely want you to have a great holiday! We did the VIP Saona island trip with Amstar and it was a really great experience. The island is breathtaking! Highly recommended! See Salvador at the Amstar desk, he’s great, knowledgeable and happy to help! The entertainment team are awesome! If you want to take part in the activities there super happy if not they do not hound you! The nighttime shows were entertaining and those girls and boys are great dancers and entertainers. One thing to remember whilst your on holiday is that the staff work extremely hard for us holidaymakers to ensure we have an amazing holiday, they work extremely long hours and are earning on average $3 dollars a week! Therefore any tips you wish to leave are always greatly appreciated. Overall we had the most amazing holiday and would return tomorrow! Now to start saving hard for next year! Enjoy everyone, remember it’s what you make it! Happy to answer any questions anyone may have.😄

This place was BEYOND our expectations. There are no pictures or videos I've found that truly capture the beauty of the resort grounds. From the moment we arrived and were greeted with drinks and snacks for check-in, to the ease of our departure in our last minutes there, we felt well taken care of by the staff. The Beach- During our first few days there was quite a bit of seaweed at the shoreline which we had to wade past to get out to swim. It was not slimy and it did not hinder our ocean experience. The staff was working non-stop to clear it, but this is a known issue right now in most Carribean beach areas. From the third day on, there was minimal seaweed in sight. The Pool- AMAZING. We found a favorite pool cabana across from our building where we set up a "base" daily (#s 68-71). There is a bridge over the pool in that area under which we would go to get a break from the direct sun. Everyone in our group would come back and forth to the area as desired and this is where we encountered Maribel, who is hands down our favorite staff member. She was fantastic and ensured we always had what we needed. The Food- We loved most everything we tried. There are so many options. Breakfast at World cafe was our go to. The Eggs Benedict and Juevos Rancheros were the adult favorites, while the kids loved the made to order crepe station. Fish and chips at Oceana was a well liked lunch option (the civeche was also super delicious). We made several trips to the pool and Ocean grills, for burgers or hot dogs, veggie burgers, etc..Collectively, our favorite dinners were at the Hibachi Restaurant (sitting at the cook table is a must), and Portifino for Italian. All of the snacks offered throughout the day at the Preferred Club Lounge were fantastic. The ice cream cart rolling up the beach and poolside was also a great treat. Drinks- All of the tropical drinks were beautifully made and yummy. They can pretty light on the alcohol, but that is nice because the days are lovely and long. We ordered double shots when we desired an extra kick. The coffee is really great as well. No member of our party got sick whatsoever during our visit. Between all of us, we ate and drank most everything offered. Activities- Abundant and fun options. Foam beach dance parties, life size Jenga, beach yoga, to name a few. We just really loved spending our afternoons at at the beach cabana though. Good Advice- After reading other reviews, I decided to bring $100 in singles for tipping. I ended up getting a bit more when I was there, but small bills are not easy to come by once you are there. The entire staff works incredibly hard to ensure you have an incredible experience. Though it is all-inclusive, you will not regret taking care of the amazing staff by tipping. Upgrade to Preferred Club! We were so happy we decided to do this. The additional restaurant options, and access to the Preferred Club Lounge was so worth it. Also, we brought a lot of clothes to be hung, so bringing along a bunch of plastic hangers was helpful. The Rooms- We stayed in 2 Preferred Club Master Two Bedroom Suites. They were located in Buildings 6 and 7. The location and views were perfect. They are located in the middle of the resort, which was nice. The AC was great and the beds were very comfortable. A couple of us ordered goose down pillows from the preferred club pillow menu, which we loved. We also really liked the Dreams lotion provided. Safety- We felt completely safe during our entire stay. Our kids could go to get a snack on their own daily. The safety of our family or our belongings was never in question. Spa- We tried the hydro-therapy, massages, and "fish pedicures". The spa was so beautiful and all of the treatments were throughly enjoyed. Note-There is a bit of initial pressure for a breakfast meeting about timeshares or learning about other properties. There is also minimal pressure from art/souvenir vendors, but both stop when you politely (and firmly) decline. We were happy the vendors were onsite and we bought a lot of gifts to bring home.
