Gray family vacation
Spent a week at Now Jade from Oct 12-19th with family including grandchildren. Had a great time and would like to mention a few Now Jade employees who provided superior service to my family. The French restaurant was outstanding. Elpidio, the manager, assisted by his staff (Jose, Jesus, Hector & Manuel) provided a superb dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The service you receive is five star!. Great job Elpidio. The entertainment staff was awesome. Thanks to David and Christian for providing lots of fun things to do all week long. Sorry David but you lost a pushup contest to my 11 year old granddaughter !! She did 66 pushups & you did somewhat less. HA HA. No Mas you said. One thing that could be improved on is to provide more shaded areas to get out of the sun. Thanks for a wonderful family vacation.
Relaxing, Fun-filled Resort!
Now Jade is a beautiful property that met our expectations. We traveled as a family of six. My family of four which has two adults and kids ages 14 and 11 and grandma and grandpa. We visited the property for eight days, returning two days ago. We stayed on the non-preferred side. I cannot speak to preferred vs. non-preferred other than to say you really never know what you are missing if you choose not to spend the extra money to be preferred. The rooms are a little dated, not very upscale, however, how much time do you really spend in your room?! They were most definitely cool enough and comfortable for sleeping. We had adjoining rooms for our kiddos which worked perfectly for us. A king bed for mom and dad, double for the kids in a room with a door in between to give us privacy. Parents and kids also had their own bathrooms. Pools were nice and you had various options for participating in activities or not. Some people complain of seaweed at the beach. We didn't think it was bad where we were. The preferred side definitely seemed to have more. The best thing about this property by far is its staff. A special shout out to the following individuals from the entertainment staff who were all fun, friendly, and very genuine: Saul (Chino) (Chester Cheeto) :), David, Cristian, Amarra, and Giovanna. They remember your name and keep the day very fun with water polo, water volleyball, music, dance lessons, Zumba, bike ride to town, crazy games, teens and kids club, evening show, and push-up competitions (David) :). My children will truly miss these individuals. Thank you for the great memories! We had great service at the French restaurant by ElPiddio. We thank him for making us feel so incredibly special and valued! Manuel performed an incredibly entertaining teppanyaki meal at Spice. His ability to juggle the knives was quite impressive! Our favorite restaurant - three of us say Spice (teppanyaki), the other three say Mercure (French). We received wonderful service at the pool from Misael. Misael was friendly, always with a smile on his face, remembered our preferred drinks, serving us agua every morning, and spoke great English, helping us to translate to Spanish. Misael helped to make our vacation even more relaxing. We had family pictures taken by the Adventures Photos staff. Betseda did a nice job. It was quite windy the day of our pictures which did present some problems with hair blowing around, however, nothing that she could help. However, we were disappointed she didn't pick some interior locations for the photos to counteract the wind. We still ended up with beautiful pictures overall. Be aware, they have four packages, or you can order individual pictures. They will not work with you to make your own package, which was disappointing to us and would have cost them less money in shipping items to us. I did share requested picture combinations and one was missed, my husband and son together. That is a disappointment. :( We do have two complaints. The first is the closing of the restaurants. Capers is currently closed down as it is being renovated. They place this restaurant in Castaways throughout the week, however, not every evening. Cin Cin is also having outdoor renovations. Given that we traveled with children and can only eat outside at this restaurant with the kids, this limited our restaurants to five restaurants for dinner. Which doesn't sound bad. However, when they close down various restaurants on various evenings, it can really limit your choices. The second complaint is the lobby and the common spaces could be better air-conditioned. You feel like they are upon first walking in, however, once inside for three minutes you discover they are not nearly air-conditioned enough. If you are looking for a relaxing time, with fun found around every corner if you wish to partake, this is a great resort!
Beat Expectations, Excellent hospitality
Just spent a week here, mid October. Expectations were high and for the most part the resort pulled through. First the con...this time of year is considered their slow time and couple of the restaurants and patio areas were under construction. I get it, they were working to update, just stinks it was during our week. Plenty of options though given the size of the resort. This isn't a MEGA resort as some others in the area. Right number of rooms/restaurants/pool chairs, etc. The next con was that the pool ran out of towels constantly. Now the good. Family of 4, we were able to get a family room, basically two adjoining rooms, one with king and other with doubles, with teenagers, it was great. Each room had own bathroom and with girls, it was fantastic. Rooms are fine as we didn't spend much time there. Each morning we were able to get 4 chairs at the pool. Pool service was great. We did bring large 32oz tumblers which I think helped. Beach was fair, rough seas which brought up the seaweed. They have a sand sweeper so most of it was removed. Wife and I both did massages and they were great. Everything in the resort was a short walk. FINALLY, the Entertainment crew, David, Cristian, Amarra, Giovanna, Alberto, Leo, Brownie, etc, I'm sure I'm missing a couple were AWESOME. I felt like they were working all day and night, always running a game or activity. My kids (teenage girls) loved it. My kids never went to the teen club as they wanted to hang and play in the pool with the Entertainment crew. They knew my kids names by the first day. If they were not at an activity, they basically hunted them down....in a good way. Mid week, I was doing the volleyball and water polo. I can't say enought about this crew. Nice work! Main pool had the party/DJ area and also a quiet area. Great blend of opportunity or not! Family friendly for all ages. I would return. Cheers
Everything about this place was awesome from Alredo our waiter by the pool to the absolutely awesome entertainment team, all the restaurants were very good especially mercure and spice .I would definitely recommend and return to this beautiful resort!!!
An amazing stay, great hospitality
Me and my girlfriend Aimee, spent an amazing 2 weeks here at the start of August 2019. We got off to an excellent start: greeted on arrival with hot towels and Prosecco, then transported to our room via golf buggy, whilst being shown where everything in the hotel was located. We opted for a Jungle view room, mainly due to not wishing to pay the additional cost of a sea view room. The room was very spacious, the bed was massive, easily big enough to fit 3 people - if that’s what your into. The bathroom was a fair size too, his and hers sinks, separate toilet/bday room, jacuzzi bath (easily big enough to fit 2) and a large walk-in shower. Great pool area, consisting of 4 inter-connecting pools. Our favourite was the infinity pool with views of the sea. Made even better due to the waiters going out their way to ensure you had a drink whilst you were in the pool watching the sea. One pool had a swim up bar, where there was always a great atmosphere due to the entertainment team running activities here on an afternoon, I’ll never forget David’s monkey impression. The whole entertainment team always ensured as many people as possible were involved in the activities. The beach was a more relaxed area, there was a lot of seaweed but the staff worked tirelessly to remove as much as possible each day. I really don’t know how they managed in the heat. During our stay, we went out on the canoes and paddled around the sea for a bit, but you could also try out the catamarans, all for free. We had some amazing service from waiters around the pool and the beach. Particularly from our good friend Alfredo - he just couldn’t do enough for us and the other guests. He even remembered that we tended to drink different drinks depending on the time of day. He brought us water and towels each morning, had our drinks waiting for us when we came back from having lunch each day and ensured we were always well looked after. Thank you Alfredo! We couldn't believe we had 5 a la carte restaurants to choose from every night, with no reservations needed. All the restaurants provided amazing food and service. However, our favourite had to be the french restaurant (Mercure). What can I say, wow! The food was sensational. How they can pack so much flavour into onion soup, I do not know (I would return to Mexico for that alone). The pork and lamb dishes were also firm favourites of ours but whatever we ordered, we were never disappointed. Service was also amazing: the maitre de always found us a table, even in very busy periods, and Antonio and Manuel were very attentive waiters. Antonio definitely went out of his way to put a smile on everyone’s face. Food through the day was also fantastic. Each day we had the choice of the buffet restaurant, poolside snack bar or Castaways a la carte restaurant. Castaways was always a delight, amazing food and service. Antonio in particular provided impeccable service and always made you feel welcome - even after two weeks, he could remember serving us on our first day. The poolside snack bar was also great and the burgers were delicious. If all of that wasn’t enough, the hotel also provides 24hr room service at no extra charge - don’t be surprised if your clothes don’t fit by the end of your holiday! There’s plenty of entertainment every evening, different singers at the bar every night a show every evening, chill out bar and sports bar. The shows where some of the best I’ve ever seen, particularly the fire and circus shows, which took place in the garden area. We went to the sports bar a couple of times and couldn’t believe the service and speed provided my the barman Caesar Silva, that man worked like a machine to ensure everyone had the drinks they wanted. If I was ever to open a bar, I would track him down and ask him to run it. Overall, we had an incredible 2 weeks here and were made to feel at home by every member of staff we encountered. We would return in a heartbeat! Thank you for a truly amazing holiday.
