Rude Staff | Overpriced | Outdated Moldy Rooms
From the moment you arrive the unhelpful concierge makes sure you feel like a bother. We as a couple where placed in a 2xdouble bed room besides booking a king. The aircon is noisey and no cutlery and to get some you have to pay $20 and it took 30minutes to get some, cutlery is a basic in all hotels how is it ok to make people pay. This hotel looks nice but the bathroom we had had black mould growing on the roof and it was cracking. For a Westin Hotel this is the worst I have stayed in and I would recommend staying at The Royal Hawaiian down the road, slightly cheaper, bigger rooms, better service and not as noisy. I won’t be staying here again.
a great place for a relaxing drink
Everytime we visit Honolulu we make it a point to stap at the Moana Surfrider to have a drink and relax under the banyon tree This time we also enjoyed having lunch. The service was great. The food was good. The price is on the high side
In the heart of Waikiki
When we first came to Hawaii around 8 years ago this was one place we said we would love to stay at! We booked two nights at the end of our three week vacation and were nicely greeted with leis and our luggage handled for us! Check in was very quick and the lady very nice and helpful! The hotel has an old charm to it and really makes you feel like you are in Hawaii! Loved people watching on the rocking chairs out front as it was Halloween!! The room itself was quite small and hard to get things sorted with our three large cases! The other negative was that it smelled really funky which of course may be due to the age of the hotel. Nonetheless housekeeping were very nice and room was cleaned very well. Breakfast was mediocre, my husband wasn’t impressed with the buffet at all and my egg white omelette was just okay! Disappointed they couldn’t make my cuppucino! Overall we had a nice stay and loved watching the sunset on Waikiki beach. The music in the evening was also really nice with a margarita or three. The location is everything!! Would come back some day but for a night or two only!
Terrific central location. Classy
From the moment we got checked in by a very friendly lady to the moment we checked out 6 days later, we were met with nothing but courteous people. A beautifull 1901 built hotel set on Waikiki beach. We had a room with a partial sea view, surprisingly had a balcony which gave us great sights of the beach and rearwards to the mountains. The room was spacious, coffee making facilities included. It is cleaned to perfection daily. Made our trip to Honolulu even better. Nothing seems to much trouble for the staff.
Poor customer service
My family stayed here for 2 nights and our arrival experience was terrible. We never feel the warm welcome. We never got leis. Valet never greeted us aloha. And when its time for check-in, front desk agent1 wasn’t that helpful knowing I have some issue on my papers, knowing I’m traveling with my kids whose very tired and wants to rest. There’s no anticipation on this hotel I must say. I still need to ask for crib even though they know I have a 1 year and 11 months old baby. Staff never say hi or aloha. Is this the norm here.? Not returning on this hotel.
