Unlimited vacation club - Oscar, customer relations
I can not give a high enough rating for Oscar. 11 out of 10.He went above and beyond to solve every concern we had on our visit. Especially the transfer fiasco. UVC is so lucky to have this young man.
Top notch service from everyone!
We just returned from a 5-night trip. This was our first time at a Dreams resort and I don't think I will ever stay anywhere else due to the outstanding service we experienced. The bartenders at the lobby bar were the best. Remembered us each time we stopped by and called us by names! Adan, Jonathan and Danny were so friendly that when we left we really did feel like we were leaving our friends. Antonio (I believe that was his name) stopped us at the pool and on the beach daily just to make sure everything was okay. I have never experienced service such as this. The rooms were larger than what I expected. The food in the French restaurant was exceptional. The buffet was probably our least favorite place, but was fine for breakfast. I can't wait to go back!
Good resort, great people
I booked a quick 1 week get away using credit card points and chose this place due to great reviews. I didn't realize I booked a non-adult only resort but honestly our experience was great anyways. Check in & room: We got to the hotel at 10am but our room wasn't ready until 3pm. At peak times, don't expect an early check in. One thing I did not like was our ocean-view room was only a partial ocean view and only 2nd floor kind of far from the beach. Not a huge deal but thanks to Daniel (any Patty for the assist) at the front desk, I did manage to upgrade my room with preferred club for a fee but it was worth it as we went from a 2nd floor partial ocean view room to an ocean front 4th floor room. For me, preferred club by itself wasn't worth it but with the very nice room we moved to, it was. One negative, we had to change from our amazing rooms for the last 2 days as the property painted a room 2 floors below ours. Not sure what chemical they used but it smelled like acetone in our ventilation system and we couldn't get the smell out. Brian at the preferred club desk did change our room to a pool & ocean view top floor suite and while that was technically an upgrade, I did prefer our old room. I hope the resort read this and reconsider what process they when they paint. They should have never ran the air in the room they were working on and we wouldn’t have had to change. So the best part of the Dreams los Cabos is Patty, she is the concierge supervisor and was amazing to work with. She took great care of us and from what I saw, several other people during our week there. She is so fast, efficient and friendly… She could easily be the general manager of the whole resort! Beach. The sand and beach is great. Beach chairs are plentiful. Unlike all the other resorts nearby, you aren't walled in, the resort is wide open to the beach front. The only negative is that every day was black flagged for tide so you aren’t supposed to go into the water due to dangerous conditions but that is most of Cabo. Food. The food was pretty good at this resort. I did enjoy the world cafe (buffet) for breakfast. I think lunch time kind of suffers a bit but once I realized you can order off menu at both Seaside & Barefoot, I really enjoyed lunch. (Ordered fish tacos 3 days in a row with chips & guac). Dinner: We really enjoyed Bordeaux, the fine dining french restaurant. The food there is actually really good and service is fast and great. Oceana is the seafood restaurant, it was pretty good. One dish was great, the other not so much but service was good. Portofino is the nicer Italian restaurant. Unfortunately it was our least favorite. It was the busiest and had the slowest service. Appetizers were good but we didn't like our main course. I didn't realize they had a pizza oven, I would have gone with that! Finally, one night was Mexican night outside by the beach. It was really good. Overall I give the resort a 4 but the people are so friendly I score the place a 5.
Jose Pineda at Portofino restaurant was an amazing server!!! One of the best we’ve had in a long time. He remembered every detail from our first visit and brought it out as if he knew we were coming. I would give him 10 stars. If you end up at this restaurant you should request José Pineda, he will take care of you!!
