    A huge beautiful property

This campus is huge and very well maintained. I brought my wife and our grown son, daughter and her fiance. Between the vegetation and the color palette of the buildings, this is one beautiful resort. The beach is well maintained and in October there were plenty of chairs and not that crowded. My wife and daughter encountered jellyfish but hey, it's the ocean. Maybe they're seasonal, not sure. The two themed restaurants that we enjoyed the most were the French and Japanese. The staff, in general, work hard and are courteous. There are some areas for improvement: We took a shuttle to get to the pier and made our way to the ferry. The assumption was that we'd get dropped of at the pier. Instead, we were dropped off in a parking lot behind a jewelry store ten blocks from our destination. We missed the ferry we wanted. Side note, when you go to buy the tickets there's no window. You just buy the ferry tickets from a person standing in the street..weird. Lets talk about Amstar. These people want to explain trips that you can take from the resort and many last all day. Their job is to explain those trips to people who arrive at the property and that's fine. That's their job. We've gone on many excursions in years past. What's not fine is at 8:00 am Karla calling our room and asking if we want to participate each morning and that got old. If they want to put flyers under our door or send me emails, that would be an improvement. The A/C: For some reason the a/c compressor made a droning sound when it came on and kept me awake. On the last night I figured out that you can chill the room before you sleep and then just have the fan only and that would solve the sound issue. The food: For a place this large, I was impressed with the variety of choices and the different themes each night. The breakfast presentation was impressive. It would be nice to have a larger mug for coffee and have the ability to refill my cup on my own. A coffee station would be a welcomed improvement. Overall, this is quite resort and I would bring my family back to stay.

    50 Wedding Anniversary 👩‍❤️‍👨❤️💖💖💖

We stayed at the Iberostar Maya for our 50th wedding Anniversary for 2 weeks. Our room was in building 61 close to the pool and a small walk to the beach. A big thank you to Carmen and Maria our room maids they did a great job and the towel art on our bed were fantastic. A big thank you too my sister Claudette and son Moe who surprise us by decorating our room with balloons, streamers and 50th wedding Anniversary banners, the room look fantastic. A big thank you to Elizabeth our concierge who always had a big smile for us. Also for all the help she gave my sister in organizing our anniversary dinner at El Rancho. The table was set beautifully. Thank you Klaus and Claudette for the beautiful roses and fantastic cake, which we enjoyed that night and then at the L’Etoile restaurant a few night later. We had breakfast at La Marina and the Lindo buffet which was excellent lots of choices for breakfast and lunch. We ate at the Geisha one night it was fun and the food was good but lots of smoke from the teppanyaki grill. We loved the L’Etoile restaurant thanks to our captain Luis Castro, he made our evening so much fun. When we would meet Luis at other restaurant and he always had a big smile and hugs for us. We tried the new Lemon and Spices restaurant and enjoyed the meal very much. We enjoyed eating at Under the Sea the service and food was very good. We loved the cappuccino and lattes at the Starcafe . We had a wonderful 2 weeks and would definitely recommend this hotel.

    AMAZING SERVICE

The Maya is such a nice place to stay and the rooms are awesome! We came last year and stayed at the Lindo and this year we went to the Maya and it’s super nice! Both parts of the resort are great, and we can still go to everything else! The workers are so nice and fun to be around! We kept in touch with some of them like Joss, Dani, and Javi last year and it was really cool seeing them again!

    The best winter in Mexico

I enjoyed the smoothie drinks. And the hot dogs as hamburgers on the beach. The entertainment and staff really make me feel welcomed. I liked to hang out with Carolina and Humberto. We played corn hole, boccia ball and many more games on the beach. I also enjoyed the show and all the entertainment they gave to us on this trip.
