Greening Your Life: Part of the Apple Vacations Greening Your Life initiative, this property uses 100% of its green waste for compost and also sends wet waste from kitchens to pig farmers for feed, which helps to reduce landfill waste considerably. Waste cooking oil is collected and processed into biodiesel fuel, while the 4,000 sq. foot on-site hydroponics farm supplies the resort's restaurants and events with approximately 120lbs. of fresh produce per week.
Landscaping is tended to with biological pest controls over harsh chemical options.
The property also utilizes heat produced by the air-conditioning system by converting the output into heat water for guestrooms and swimming pools. On top of that, nearly 60,000 sq. ft. of grass-covered roofing helps to reduce cooling needs. Guests can also enjoy cashmere-soft robes, which are made from 100% recycled bottles.

PARADISE HYATT WAY
By far one of the best landscaping ever seen all around the resort and also the beautiful design of the pool area from the fresh water pool to the salt beach area looks and lazy river its was a fun time to be at the grand Hyatt resort we are definitely go back again in the near future
Lovely relaxing resprt
We spent six nights here on our Hawaiian holiday. It’s a large resort... it took me some days to find my way round, and getting back to the room certainly upped my steps count... but it is relaxing and the staff cannot do more for you. We had a very large room with a view over the golf course. Pool area was lovely with plenty of choice and sun beds. It is expensive and we did not use the restaurants, but that is Hawaii. We had a complimentary breakfast and that was also excellent. If you don’t hire a car it can be difficult to get out and about on the island, but they do now have Uber and there are good restaurants at the nearest shopping malls. Also you can walk to Brennekes (about 20/25 mins) for a cheaper meal. There is no minibar but a fridge so you can buy your own alcohol and have an apéritif on your balcony!
3.5 star stay — good for an affordable family trip with kids ... definitely not a couple getaway
We’ve traveled to Kauai and Maui quite a bit over the past five years and love staying at great hotels. Here’s how we would rate the hotels we’ve been to: 5 star: Montage Kapalua, Lodge at Kukui’ula 4 star: Four Seasons Maui, Hyatt Andaz Maui (amazing) 3.5 star: Grand Hyatt Kauai 3 star: Princeville Resort Re: our stay at the Grand Hyatt... if you’re looking for a luxurious quiet, Hawaiian getaway to be served on, this is not your place to go. However if you’re simply looking for a family vacation with kids and have a budget of $400ish nightly then this could be a great option for you. We stayed here for a week and There are a lot of pros and cons. Pros: - We got a pool suite which was fully renovated and great - modern - spacious - wonderful location with walkout to the pool area. This was the biggest pro for us. If we had an older guest room, we definitely would have left given they look quite run down and small. - Grand Club ... BY FAR THE BEST SERVICE IN THE ENTIRE HOTEL... the two woman in there every morning we’re absolutely amazing, they provided true 5 star luxury service and attended to all the guest with white glove treatment, they treated their responsibilities with absolute excellence, I know one of the woman was Amy and the other had very long dark hair, I’m surprised one of the other 5 star hotels (Lodge at Kukui’ula or Timbers) hasn’t yet recruited them. They were 11/10. - self parking is complimentary and easy - pools are big and the lagoon is nice given you cannot swim in the beach at the Hyatt - they have rocking benches on the beach - good complimentary fitness program (they had really good instructors!) - housekeeping was very good Cons: - you can just tell this was an amazing property to visit 10+ years ago as nearly everything needs renovation (this is if you enjoy modern, more contemporary hotels) - the attention to detail is lacking (all throughout the pool area there is trash under the chairs, old wristbands, water bottles, etc)... it was dirty in a lot of places - pool towels are very used and not nice/comfortable at all (given they market themselves as 4.5 stars, they should invest in nicer pool towels.. also they only give you towels and then you need to set yourself up... first hotel we’ve been to in Hawaii which the attendants don’t setup your pool chair for you... also there is no chair cover.. only if you rent a cabana... felt like a 3 star experience for sure at the pool) - no beach to swim in or enjoy ... their beach has MASSIVE waves and I didn’t see a single person swimming - most of the property is situated way above the ocean and you essentially get no ocean view from the pool area due to how they built the pool 20 years ago - Spa was not good at all, arguably the worst part in my eyes. You can just tell that the hotel is trying to save money in a lot of different ways and in result , it provides the customer (me) a poor experience. For example, in the spa, you need to check out a robe and slippers (most nice hotels they just have them in the locker), they don’t provide any goggles to swim, they don’t provide any toothpaste/toothbrush, you need to go to the counter to even get a razor and comb... the attendant said it’s because people steal them so they need to now do this.. not acceptable in my eyes for customers to have a poor experience and not be trusted due to a few bad clients ... lastly the people working in the spa were not nice at all, cold and angry (I went here for a week remind you)
Amazing, as always.
This is the second time that we have stayed at this Hyatt, but the last time was years ago. My favorite part of the hotel is the pool and lagoon, it is all just exquisite. The rooms are great, beds are comfortable and all of the grounds are gorgeous. Staff is nothing but helpful and friendly. We only stay at the best hotels around the world and this is one of our favorites.

We had just the right kind of rest and relaxation and the beautiful Grand Hyatt. Listening to the waves crash, admiring the moon’s glow on the water, eating fresh sushi, sitting by the pools—-it was a perfect way to restore balance to our usually chaotic home lives. Staff was friendly, room and lanai had lovely view, even enjoyed a fun Zumba class in the fitness center.
