Greening Your Life: Part of the Apple Vacations Greening Your Life initiative, this property uses 100% of its green waste for compost and also sends wet waste from kitchens to pig farmers for feed, which helps to reduce landfill waste considerably. Waste cooking oil is collected and processed into biodiesel fuel, while the 4,000 sq. foot on-site hydroponics farm supplies the resort's restaurants and events with approximately 120lbs. of fresh produce per week.
Landscaping is tended to with biological pest controls over harsh chemical options.
The property also utilizes heat produced by the air-conditioning system by converting the output into heat water for guestrooms and swimming pools. On top of that, nearly 60,000 sq. ft. of grass-covered roofing helps to reduce cooling needs. Guests can also enjoy cashmere-soft robes, which are made from 100% recycled bottles.

Perfect Kauai Resort
We had an amazing stay that Grand Hyatt Kauai. The hotel grounds and pools are incredible, the food was excellent and the location cannot be beat. Great access to hiking and private beaches. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Extra thank you to Hannah Kim in the front office for all of her assistance!
Amazing Pacific Dreams Photography Experieice
We had an exceptional photography experience to cap off our family vacation to Kauai! Our Pacific Dreams team did a superb job from start to finish! Our photographer, Jared Vargo, was wonderful! He was creative with settings, quick to catch the best moments in action shots, innovative with portraits and enthusiastic in his work. He made our session relaxing and fun. We love the photos he produced and team member Madeleine was very helpful with our final selection session. We will treasure these images always.
Amazing resort and trip
My family and I just returned from the Grand Hyatt in Kauai, and have to say this was one of our best vacations ever. This was our first stay at a Hyatt resort and if the rest of their properties are anything like this we will be going to many more. The resort couldn't be located in a better place. Not only are the views amazing, but the property itself is beautiful and very easy to get around. There is a public beach right next to the hotel that has the clearest water and huge waves. Off the beach is a path that leads you to the top of a cliff that has the most amazing views. The pools and lagoon are also some of the best I have ever seen. In addition there are many shops and restaurants within a couple of miles of the property. When we checked in we were greeted by Makaela (spelling) who was so friendly and helpful both at check in and throughout the week. Both her and all of the staff we came into contact with made our trip stress free. The hotel has several water dispensing stations throughout the hotel, which is a very nice amenity. The resort is very family friendly and was perfect for our 12 and 14 year olds. So much to see and do within a half hour of the hotel. I highly recommend this resort to anyone and everyone. By far our best experience staying in Hawaii. The only negative thing I could say is that people using the public beach sneak up to the pools and lagoon. The resort provides wrist bands to all of their customers, but people still sneak in.
The Hyatt was everything we imagined and more. The staff went above and beyond. we stayed for our wedding and they surprised us with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. The staff was amazing.
Beautiful Resort for our Baby Moon
We are expecting our first child and decided to visit this resort for our Baby Moon. The hotel grounds are beautiful, with lots of paths for you to get lost in nature. It’s tropical Hawai’i, so it’ll be a bit humid, but it’s perfect when you’re there to lounge and take in the pools and beach. We decided to take advantage of Pacific Dream Photography, which is employed by the hotel, to take some professional photos. It’s super convenient because you get a scheduled 45 minute session complimentary, and then get the option to purchase photos the next day after reviewing them. Our photographer, Pru, was kind, easy to talk to, understood what we were trying to achieve, and helped bring all our requests to life. We ended up liking a great deal of photos, and are glad we decided to do the session! Now we have beautiful sentimental photos that will last a lifetime. It’s great the resort offers classes every day, free of additional charge. We took advantage of a couple classes and thought they were a great way to start the day. The rooms are also clean, and the cleaning crew stayed on top of our requests for things like more pillows, towels, etc. The staff was friendly in all parts of the resort, which goes a long way in making your vacation worthwhile. One thing to keep in mind, if you don’t want to be around a lot of children, this may not be the resort for you. The pool and lazy river are perfect for families with children, and even if you spend time at the adult pool, it is open to any person 14 years or older.
