Greening Your Life: Part of the Apple Vacations Greening Your Life initiative, this property uses 100% of its green waste for compost and also sends wet waste from kitchens to pig farmers for feed, which helps to reduce landfill waste considerably. Waste cooking oil is collected and processed into biodiesel fuel, while the 4,000 sq. foot on-site hydroponics farm supplies the resort's restaurants and events with approximately 120lbs. of fresh produce per week.
Landscaping is tended to with biological pest controls over harsh chemical options.
The property also utilizes heat produced by the air-conditioning system by converting the output into heat water for guestrooms and swimming pools. On top of that, nearly 60,000 sq. ft. of grass-covered roofing helps to reduce cooling needs. Guests can also enjoy cashmere-soft robes, which are made from 100% recycled bottles.

Amazing hotel and experience!
What an amazing hotel! We cannot wait to go back. The hotel is beautiful, the staff incredibly friendly and the pool is phenomenal. We were there because of a conference but we will be back for fun in the future!
Great Lagoon area
Amazing Pools and Lagoon were the real draw to this place and we weren't disappointed. Lazy rivers, rock formations, koi ponds, and palm trees made for a very authentic tropical feel. Access to the beach was also immediate, so we could do it all. The drive to Poipu is 5 minutes which gave us access to other restaurants and beaches. Our toddler enjoyed watching the Macaw birds every day and even was allowed to hold one, as a highlight. The Staff were really friendly and made you feel comfortable. I would like to see a bit more options on the menus, as they are the same from the pool bar to room service, but we didn't get too tired of the items with nearby Poipu to explore. The nightly entertainment was enjoyable, live music and cocktails in the open air patio. Would definitely return here again or recommend to friends if they are visiting Kauai.
Grand Hyatt is the best hotel on the island of Kauai
The Grand Hyatt hotel at Poipu Point on the island of Kauai is a fantastic resort with an attractive beach and classic Hawaiian scenery right out its back door. The numerous pools (both fresh and salt water options onsite) offer guests different settings to relax and swim outside the ocean waves and under the palm trees. The service anywhere within the Grand Hyatt facilities are exceptional and although some might think the pricing is high, it is certainly in line with other upscale options on the island. The Poipu Point location provides a great staging place for off-property excursions to both the east and west sides of the island. Because Poipu is on the south end of the island, it bisects the island roads nicely for any driving. If one stays up in Princeville and wants to drive to the Waimea Canyon look-out, then they will spend much more time on the road that day. That is why Poipu Point rocks as a location and the Grand Hyatt location was no doubt planned with things like this in mind. Shipwreck beach is right off the Grand Hyatt property and is very scenic itself. There are nice hikes people can take with the hotel as the starting point. One can also walk to nearby Poipu beach where a protected lagoon is good for little kids. On my many visits to Kauai I have seen sea turtles and monk seals at Poipu beach, so a short walk from the Hyatt in the morning (when the time zone change makes you wide awake at 5:00am) presents a fun nature observation outing where you can also watch a relaxing Hawaiian sunrise. Nothing but great things to say about the Grand Hyatt's location, amenities and staff. If you want to go to Kauai you can't go wrong staying there. Mahalo!
The Grand Hyatt was one of the most increadible places we have visited. The views are unlike any where else and the staff always seems to have your best interest in mind and only wants to make you stay enjoyable.
As a Hyatt lifetime globalist I’ve experienced the highs and not so highs of Hyatt worldwide. This resort is beautiful and situated in a beautiful location. We had an ocean front deluxe suite that was spectacular.... We were greeted with a warm welcome after flying from NYC. My only concern, and I was aware prior due to reviews on here, was the immensity of the resort and the walking involved getting from point A to point B. Fellow back sufferers be mindful. None of that is Hyatt’s issue. It’s simply a statement. I will say that a deep pressure massage assisted in my recovery from most of it. The pools were awesome in particular the salt water pool nearest the ocean. I’m giving this resort a 5 star rating because it deserves it.
