Not romantic/relaxing. Probably great for families with small kids
No relaxation: very intrusive movie being filmed, lots of kids yelling and screaming, slightly dated rooms - not for couples, great for families. We booked five nights at the Turtle Bay for a nice relaxing Hawaiian vacation but quickly realized that this is not the place for relaxation or romance. To start with, there was a movie being filmed at the resort the entire time we were there (not notified prior to check-in). The hotel entrance was crowded with trucks, trailers, equipment, noisy generators, wires, cables, crew food tables, lots of people (security, crew) and golf carts (photo attached). The beach was occupied by the film crew for the better part of two days which disrupted and shrunk the already cramped and crowded beach. The perfect embodiment of this was waking up at 5:30AM to watch a sunrise over the beach, only to be greeted by large floodlights and film equipment covering the beach (photo attached). When asking the hotel staff how long the filming would be was answered by canned responses ("We aren't really sure") and absolutely no information. Walking around the resort, we found lots of wiring, closed facilities/off limits areas, golf carts speeding by and people loading and unloading lots of equipment and making plenty of noise. The actual room was slightly outdated with small stains on the table and ottoman. The wallpaper around the thermostat was peeling, but other than that, the room was clean (and well cleaned daily).
40th Wedding Anniversary Trip
Staff was very polite and helpful. Beautiful location on the north shore of Oahu. Really enjoyed our stay. Dining was expensive but the food was good. Was disappointed on our anniversary, Roy's Beach House had internet problems so we were unable to dine there. Staff there did direct us to Le Lei's which is nearby.
Always love this place
I hadn't been back for several years, but I have to say Turtle Bay is as good as ever. Such a great location and facility. A nice chance of pace to be on the North Shore. Worth a stop even if just for lunch and a little pool time.
Best Hamburger by the Pool!
We enjoyed being on the North Shore and visiting local beaches and food trucks. Climbing up to the Pill Box is quite a view of the island! Best hamburger I have eaten at the Turtle Bay Resort sitting at the resort pool. Friendly Staff especially and thank you Annella for keeping our room so nice! Mahalo!
Beautiful stay! A stay that was primarily for business that ended up being a relaxing staycation with excellent service from from the valet, bellmen, front desk, restaurants Kula Grille & Pa'akai, room service as well as amazing housekeeping service from Evelyn Reyes in my junior suite. Thank you to the staff of Turtle Bay Resort for a relaxing stay!
