Dec 03, 2025Great People, Great Entertainment — Some Improvements Needed
Our stay at Sunscape Coco Punta Cana had some wonderful moments thanks to several standout team members. The Entertainment crew — especially Golden Boy, Chocolate, Coca Cola, Cielo Bombón, Secreto, Pumba, Capuchino, and Timón — brought amazing energy every day, and the show team delivered high-quality performances that truly elevated our experience. We also want to recognize Yurke at the Sun Club pool, Angel at breakfast, Martin and Ivan at the buffet, and Angelica from housekeeping, who all made us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. There were, however, a few areas that could be improved. Staff often seemed understaffed and overworked, which affected the overall atmosphere. General maintenance also fell short, with a dirty beach, missing pool tiles, and limited shade or space for guests. The dining reservation system was frustrating as well, with same-day bookings only and unclear instructions through the required app. Overall, the people made our stay memorable, but there are opportunities to enhance the overall guest experience.

Entertainment was outstanding!
The entertainment crew was outstanding. Golden boy, cappuccino, Mr Handsome, Pumba e Timon. They made our vacation unforgettable. Very hard working young men and very super friendly!

The staff acted like they were angry that we were there. Not helpful or friendly at all.. including the manager. We paid extra to upgrade to a tropical view... it was a construction zone. The noise was so bad we could not even use the balcony. We asked to be moved - offered to pay more for a better upgrade. They finally returned our call 3 days later - 15 hours before we were to check out of the resort... possibly because I complained to Apple travels and they reached out to the manager. We recieved a call after I got an email from Apple The food was awful.. the staff and view was even worse

Terrible experience!!!!!
This is not a place for American tourists. This place caters to locals. I was told more than once “to make the best of it”. That’s not my job at a resort. It’s their job to make it the best for me. Too many issues to list here. Manager named Carla should not be managing a sock drawer, let alone a resort. Jomer tried his best, but at the end of the day, he isn’t authorized to really help. Buffet, all cold food. Not under heat lamps, just lights to illuminate the food. You can’t book a restaurant, they are all booked. Yes, we did what was asked and to use the app. It didn’t work. Most of the staff is rude to Americans.
