Wonderful holiday experience
Position of hotel central to restaurants, shopping, the beach and transport. Beds very comfortable. 3 pillows provided all different levels of firmness. The vanity being outside the bathroom was very convenient with one still able to get ready while another in the shower. The best feature for me was magnifying mirror for applying makeup. We had an ocean view room which was huge compared to others I have stayed at. The lanai was a welcome addition. The staff very courteous , informative and friendly. Very clean and I would definitely stay again.

Good stay more on the expensive side at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort
Very good hotel, with the best part being its unbeatable access to Waikiki Beach—just steps away. The hotel provides beach towels and chairs, which made beach visits very convenient. Breakfast was included in my stay and served at the SHOR restaurant—it was excellent. There was a wide variety of options to suit everyone’s taste, and the quality was consistently great. The main drawback was the outdated condition of the rooms, which felt like they hadn’t been updated since the 1980s or 1990s. Even a simple fresh coat of paint could go a long way in improving the ambiance. Another issue was the sliding glass door to the balcony, which had a peeling tinting film that obscured the otherwise stunning view of Waikiki Beach. The peeling appeared as tiny specks, almost like smudged hand cream on the glass. Housekeeping was able to partially clean it, but the issue remained. This definitely needs an upgrade. Considering I paid around $400 per night—plus another $150 in taxes and resort fees—for a total of about $550 per night, I expected a more luxurious room experience. However, it seems that this level of wear and tear may be common in Hawaii, as I spoke with other guests staying at nearby Hilton properties who reported similar concerns about outdated rooms.

Hyatt Regency Waikiki
Rooms are old and dirty. Nice to have water bottles and places to fill sparking water. Regency club was okay. Lots of people but not many tables. If you seat outside, you’ll need to fight with birds. Valet parking can sometimes be a nightmare since too many people with only few staff. You’ll need to wait in line with some people cut in line.

Wouldn't be my first choice, location is good but room was dated and check in staff service was terrible.
Was given a room right behind the lifts, with a view of construction site and aircon units. Room was very noisy. Room was a good size, but obviously hadn't been updated in a while, one of the cupboard doors was half hanging off. We asked to be moved to a better room, but believe we were lied to when check in staff said there was only 1 left, which wasn't any better anyway. They then tried to sell us an upgrade for an additional $800 USD per night!!! Eventually the check in staff, after supposedly talking to the manager, reckoned she found only 1 room available which had a better view, this cost us an additional $600+ USD for the 4 nights! She said it was renovated but it obviously wasn't, all timber surfaces were scratched and stained, paint work on one wall was cracked, door looked like someone had kicked it several times. We found out shortly afterwards that our friends had been given the same treatment by the check in staff, being told there were no cheap upgrades available then one "magically" appearing. Very shoddy check in staff.

Below par, tired and needs some work. The pool area is very small compared with other hotels. Not diversity friendly.
The building and rooms were tired and needed some freshening up and the food we ordered in the swim bar was substandard. The overall standard of service was adequate at best and the shopping area under the hotel was dark and tired and the shops limited. The pool was tiny and the resort fee included iced confectionery but nothing was offered the whole time we were at the pool side.
