A five star rating but could still be subtly improved......

My wife and I stayed at the Fontainbleau for 5 nights, with five other relatives and friends also joining us. I had spent ages looking at the various reviews of all the other hotels in Las Vegas, and that the Fontainbleau hotel had still only been open for less than 2 years, and its modern look and feel swung it for us. Hotel room We stayed in a best view golden room on the 69th floor. I had pre requested a suite, but none were available on checkin. We were not that disappointed though and the view was really good looking out onto the sphere. These rooms have a large walk in shower, rather than a bath tub/shower as per the rooms that have the mountain view. The fit and finish of the room was very nice and of a good standard and the bed very comfortable. The air con was also efficient and relatively quiet. One aspect to be careful with is the minibar and adjacent snacks. If you remove an item for more than 60 seconds, you will be charged for it automatically. On checkin we were also cautioned about this. One aspect for us europeans that was also lacking, was an in-room coffee/tea making facility. A minor issue but we missed that option. The room was made up every day but again one minor comment is that the floors were only vacuumed once during our 5 day stay. While we are not untidy, we would have expected this more frequently. The rooms have touch panels for the lighting and also to close the curtains. A nice touch, but they seemed to have a mind of their own on occasion and could take several goes to get the curtains either fully open or closed. I suspect that long term these may be problematic. Location. We were aware that the hotel is located toward the far end of the strip, but we were aware of that and used the nearby monorail station at the Westgate hotel a couple of times, and equally enjoyed the walk to the other hotels, such as Caesars Palace etc. On site parking. The hotel has a huge self parking garage, which was free for the period of our stay having signed up to the members club. Overall hotel quality. As others have mentioned, the hotel communal areas are kept very clean and tidy and are beautifully finished, providing a modern, spacious and elegant feel. Restaurant and bar options. There is a wide range of options and all that we ate at, Dons Prime, Washing Potato (twice) and The Tavern were really very good. During our visit, the SEMA car show was on, and the hotel was really busy as the exhibition centre is attached to the hotel. It was pretty imperative that you booked the restaurant in advance to avoid disappointments, especially when looking to seat larger groups. Fortunately I had made bookings on three nights for us well in advance. The main bar area on level 1 was really busy in the evening and the staff were struggling to keep up, and it could take some time to obtain a drink and all seats taken. On occasion we gave up and went to the bar on level 2 near the food court and koyu restaurant, as this tended to be less busy. Collins bar was lovely and we enjoyed several visits there. Worth a visit ! I will be writing separate reviews for Don Prime and Washing potato. One thing that I find frustrating though is that the online menus do not include the prices. I really wish that this could be corrected, but note that others do a similar thing. I just like to have an idea of approximate prices ahead of a visit. Overall, a really lovely hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's definitely a five star award but with some minor improvements could make it unbeatable. We would certainly return again.

    I really want to like this hotel…but I can’t

First time staying at the Fontainebleau. Had high expectations since it’s a one Michelin Key hotel. All the hardware are modern, elegant, more elevated than other luxury hotels on the strip. However, the hardware is the only thing to be impressed about. Our trip took a turn at night. Our room is facing the swimming pool. At 9 PM, some staff started working on the pool, likely cleaning as we hear loud jet stream cleaner noise. We thought it will be just an hour, so did not mind too much about it. They continued on deep into the night. With the loud machine noise until 3AM. Called the front desk at 1AM to complain and ask if they can start cleaning in the morning. I was shocked by the response: “We are a 24 hour resort, the staff needs to do things when it needs to be done” There was no apology at all about the noises, just a cold answer. This unprofessional is at a 5 star luxury hotel doubts me why they were awarded the Michelin key. Don’t think I would stay here again, the service is way below what it should be.

First and NOT last stay at Fontainebleau

This was our first stay at Fontainebleau and it will not be the last. The resort is the cleanest I have seen in Vegas in a very long time. From our room to the gaming area, it was spotless. We had numerous meals there and they were all delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way at numerous times during our 4-day stay. It was refreshing knowing that it is hard to attract and retain good help in so many of the service industries all over the world... but they have some keepers!

Excellent hotel with great customer service!

This hotel is great! It is very clean, modern, and spacious. The rooms are large and technologically advanced. It is also a very short walk to the Sahara, which has the monorail to take you down the strip. We had a small issue with one of the room appliances and the staff were extremely accommodating to help us get it resolved. I’d recommend this to anyone coming to Vegas!

    First Class Experience

An overall excellent experience. The fact that the property is very new, certainly doesn't hurt. Beyond that the hotel has a luxury feel without the Las Vegas tackiness. The rooms are good size with large bathrooms. The rooms that don't have a bath have a huge shower. Until 12/31, they are not charging for o/n guest parking. They also, do not charge that annoying "resort fee". There is a large number working at the checkin desk. No wait for checkin or out. Service was excellent overall as well.
