Beautiful! People, Property, Playa
TLDR - Truly a wonderful experience at an exceptional resort. Highly recommend. Review: This might be my new favorite property. I’ve stayed at Secrets Maroma, Secrets Akumal, Impressions Moxche (which has the most incredible rooftop pool) and Secrets Cap Cana which hosted a large family group gathered to celebrate a special birthday. I would gladly return to any of those resorts, but I really enjoyed this new Secrets Playa Blanca just a bit more. The property, food, bar, service, atmosphere, all combined for an exceptional experience. The details: We had an ocean view suite which absolutely delivered on the things you expect from a top tier room - amenities, furnishings and such. The balcony Bali bed and personal pool were put to good use. The bar/drink selections and service were very good - excellent at the preferred bars with all top labels available. The property itself was absolutely beautiful and so well thought out. I would call it relaxing elegance. The incredible details of the design and decor were subtle and never overbearing, but were beautiful and enhanced the stunning natural beauty of Playa Blanca. We spent time in the preferred pool and enjoyed its relaxed, quieter energy. We spent much more time at the beach, and it was beautiful ! Gorgeously maintained sandy beach! The important stuff: Food - I offer this as a person with no allergies or dietary restrictions. The food was exceptional across the property. Every breakfast at Seaside was a treat. The menu of Barefoot Grill was available for service beachside on the preferred beach, and that experience was delightful in February! The tuna at Oceana was very good and was served on a bed of the most delicious vegetables. At Seaside the lamb was the standout dish. Bordeaux was an exceptional experience start to finish but if I had to highlight something it would be the vichyssoise and the short rib. Absolutely outstanding! But even the most delicious food needs to be served, which brings me to… The most important thing: service. Outstanding service is hard to define, but it always influences your experience. The service staff at Secrets Playa Blanca was outstanding. The hard truth about service is sometimes those who offer you the best experience do so in unobtrusive ways. I surely can’t name everyone who took such good care of us during our stay (and I now regret not bringing home the cards with the names of our housekeeping/room staff). From hosts, to servers to waiters to bar tenders, even including visits from managers and one chef, the food service staff were attentive without intruding on our dining. Every person introduced themselves and I feel badly I can’t credit them. So I would like to say again - the food service professionals of especially Bordeaux, Oceana, and Seaside were fantastic! But the beach is a different story. The casual familiarity of the beach lends itself to greater interaction and I do remember the names of our concierges, Victor and Celeste. Setting up our beach beds, bringing extra towels, face refresh, the cleaning of sunglasses.. lots of attentive detail and care that made our visit special. And of course - Santiago. No one finer to tend to our thirst and keep us sustained in food! Again - always available, always quick with a smile and offer of assistance, yet never intrusive. The final comments are reserved for our butler team of Gustavo and Duran. Their knowledge and experience really lifted our experience. When I mentioned to Gustavo how excited I was to see the full moon, his listening skills picked right up on that and when he was asked for dinner suggestions, recommended a table at Seaside. Of course he let the staff there know we really wanted to see the moonrise, and we were seated at the perfect table. That experience is a memory that will stay with me forever. I’m not a fussy person and often prefer to do things myself. The hallmark of an exceptional butler is someone who listens before suggesting, and who can make me comfortable asking for assistance or recommendations. Gustavo and Duran were very kind and very easy to speak with. They really did make us feel at home, and there is no finer compliment. Thank you.

Awesome!
Absolutely great experience…we had butler service and preferred club. Ana and Leticia were awesome and made us so happy! I would also like to give a shout out to Brian, Caesar and Nico when we were at the Preferred Club pool. We will definitely be back!

Great resort and staff!
Beautiful resort, laid out well, 4 pools, 3 hot tubs, several restaurants, gorgeous beach, friendly staff and nightly entertainment at several venues. Our concierge Eddie was the BEST and went above and beyond for our "special" requests! Bravo, Eddie! The food was good as expected from most resorts. Only 2 recommendations/negative things I can say - the hot tubs shut down at 7pm, which is too bad. Cool nights in a hut tub is an amazing experience. The second thing, is that the Seafood Restaurant, didn't serve seafood to speak of. Just one "catch of the day" menu item, chops, fillet, etc., but no lobster, crab legs, prawns, oysters, scallops, etc. I mean, this is on the ocean....give us some seafood! Other than those two things, highly recommend! We'll be back!

What a beautiful resort
For a one year old resort it is very well run. We were in the preferred section with a butler, actually we had two, Eddie and Miguel who looked after our every need. We requested coffee every morning at 7:00 in the Xbox which I think is the perfect way to start the day. We had an ocean view swim out suite and it was beautiful I love the decor of the resort One of my favourite things were the fire pits spread around the report What a lovely touch! There is the typical towel game going on at the pool and beach but the attendants are on point and will not hesitate to remove books or shoes if the chairs have been empty for a long period of time We had no trouble finding chairs. The food and drinks are superb! Service at the restaurants we went to was very good. We had breakfast every morning at the Seaside Grill. I did visit the buffet to see what it was like but we prefer to sit down and be served after all we are on vacation. We were lucky enough to be there for Super Bowl Sunday and they went above and beyond setting up a huge screen on the beach with up charged tables if you wanted and bleachers Everyone could watch the game no problem. So special mentions Eddie and Miguel our butlers Ruben, Michelle, Roberto and Sixto - Seaside Grill - Maître’d Hostess and Waiters respectively Antonio- Head Butler Julio Flores - entertainment Saul - Preferred Check-in desk

Best vacation ever
Absolutely wonderful. Excellent service and room was spectacular. Good variety of restaurants and food. Best breakfast buffet I've ever had. I wanted a stress free relaxing vacation and that's exactly what I received. Anything extra that I wanted, all it took was a call to my personal butler.
