Feb 17, 2025It was wonderful, everyday was filled with new experiences and activities to enjoy.
Funnest entertainment team ever. These guys were friendly, funny and genuine friends. They went the extra mile to remember our names and where we are from. They felt like personal frie.ds and we were sad to leave them, not knowing if we'd see them again. And not just the entertainment team. The bartenders, cooks, chefs and performers were all amazing. Santiago, Fernando, Maximiliano, Carlos, Octavio, Elizabeth, Carla, Lizzie, Jose, Jonas, Ismael. All of these people were very memorable. I hope to see them again one day.

Great trip with friends
Resort was fantastic, more than expected. Beach was great, clean and excellent for snorkelling. Saw plenty of fish, coral, turtles and even a big stingray swimming in the shallow water. Pools were great with great staff, especially Osuna our pool concierge and all the other servers who were quick at bringing our drinks.

Staff make it the greatest
Bet resort we have been to in quite awhile. Wold definitely recommend and can't wait to go again. Staff go above and beyond. It's truly a pleasure to see people who seem to enjoy their work and help make a vacation that much more memorable. I wish I could remember all the names of the individuals, but there are just so many that go above and beyond.

Perfect 11/10 Experience. Loved it and will be back!!
Secrets Akumal wildly exceeded our expectations. Every detail was thought-out from the moment we arrived and were offered champagne to the check out process at the end. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful the entire time. The whole facility and beach were clean and beautiful. The food variety and quality were excellent!! Loved that it was truly an all inclusive and there were no unexpected extra charges. We went to El Patio twice because we loved it so much. Loved how much nature was incorporated throughout the resort especially the walkways (this calm and tropical nature vibe is why we picked this resort). We thought it was so cute how Rango the lizard had his own little home and sign.

Feb 17, 2025Beautiful Resort with Outstanding Staff - Some Hiccups but Well Resolved After Returning Home
We recently completed our sixth stay at a Secrets property, this time at Secrets Akumal. The resort grounds are absolutely stunning - meticulously maintained with a pristine beach and a sparkling relaxation pool, both of which became our daily paradise. The true stars of this resort are the incredible staff members who went above and beyond to make our stay special. Ulises at the Barracuda Bar crafted perfect drinks exactly to our specifications every time. By the relaxing pool, Henry and Hector provided exceptional, attentive service - our drinks were never empty and their friendly personalities added to the wonderful atmosphere. Antonio, the pool concierge, treated us like royalty - proactively refreshing towels, adjusting umbrellas with the sun's movement, and even bringing lunch poolside. Miguel at Market Cafe made our breakfasts memorable, greeting us warmly each morning and surprising us with a special farewell dessert on our final day. Patricia at Oceana provided such outstanding service that we returned to dine there our final two nights specifically to be in her section. We did experience some maintenance issues with our room - both toilet and AC malfunctions. While these issues were frustrating, especially given some initial dismissive responses from management (being told "you can't flush toilet paper in Mexico" is not what you expect to hear at a five-star resort), we want to specifically recognize Oscar from management who stepped in and immediately resolved our situation by providing alternative accommodation. His professional handling of the situation reflected the high standards we've come to expect from Secrets. Management has since reached out and offered to make things right on our next visit, which we appreciate and plan to take them up on. Despite the maintenance hiccups, the outstanding staff, beautiful grounds, and delicious food and drinks made for an overall enjoyable stay.
