Good weather, nice beach
We spent a week at this hotel. We arrived on New Year's Day, and there was a formal NYE dinner. It was alright, they have a nice buffet. Some food was excellent but some just mediocre. Even though the reception said there was no celebration, we figured out some celebrations on the beach at the resort next door-I believe that's their adults section, but we could just walk over. It was strange that the reception had no knowledge of that. The beach was not too bad; great for tanning, they have beach chairs and umbrellas. But we couldn't swim, it was really windy and there was no sandy patches in the water. We didn't want to walk through the rocks in the water. The pool was fine. A really big pool with a kiddie pool attached to it. There's also a swim up bar, they're all family friendly. Unfortunately we didn't have good weather, the water was chilly. We tried all of the restaurants; Japanese was great. We had a really entertaining chef who went above and beyond to make sure the entire table was fed and had a great time. Italian was also pretty good. The Smokey House had a very limited menu. The buffet was above average but not the best. There are two things that made our stay rather undesirable. The condition of the room we were given was quite poor. The flush was broken, anytime we tried to flush, the whole thing came off the wall. It was really outdated. Hopefully they'll consider renovating. The second thing was the unfriendly staff. This is our second time in Jamaica, and we were surprised by the grumpy staff. I'm not sure if it's due to being the New Year's week but the vast majority of those people should not be in hospitality. I don't think I ever received a "you're welcome" throughout our stay. They're extremely tip driven, if you don't tip, they won't even make eye-contact. We felt that pressure the entire time. The staff at the swim-up bar was rude and they just looked exhausted even at 10am in the morning. Hope they were just temps. The butler they assigned only cared about selling a time-share type of package. He insisted on sending us to a sales presentation. It was a 90-min presentation and we kindly declined a few times, then he offered gifts to make us go. We agreed but told him that we couldn't stay the entire time. He said it was fine. When we arrived at the presentation, the first thing we were told was we had to stay the entire 90-minutes. Who would want to spend 90 minutes at a sales presentation during their vacation? Very awkward and pushy people. We left within a few minutes. The butler was very unhappy and we never heard from him again. Please tell these people to stop pushing people to go to these presentations. Asking once is totally fine, but multiple times until we say yes is basically harassment. I get that they make a commission but his first priority should be our satisfaction, not making sales. Anyways, if you want to enjoy the nice weather, this place is fine but it's really a mediocre resort with limited amenities. We selected this resort based on the good reviews but looks like we got unlucky...

Love it here
I had such a wonderful stay here in December with my family, it was my mums birthday and Kerry from members services went above and beyond for us! The staff at aunty rubys restaurant for breakfast and dinner were very attentive, especially chef Randy he also went above and beyond for us. I will definitely be returning.

Martin & Gina
When I arrived here I thought I was being punked., as soon as me and my wife checked in we were being hustled for money., asking to be part of some modified time share program which I felt was very rude since we had just checked in.and already paid for the trip and of course they wanted more money, after that episode we went to jerk hut and was treated like garbage they stared at us like we were zombies, did not greet us by using the common greeting of how may I help you, just a blank mean stare. This is not a five star its barely a three star. The elevator was making noises like it was going to break down we had a big roach in our room, chipped furniture mold in the shower. The safe was broke paint on safe numbers wires coming out of television. Tub dirty house keeping coming at four thirty pm to clean room. The owner Miguel Fluxa Rossello is doing a disservice to the customers who support his business this is false advertisement and a terrible place to vacation your resort ruined my wife vacation. Beware if you stay here.

Trevaughn
The bellman Trevaughn is the nicest, most dedicated worker I encountered this vacation. He was always ready to take my mother and I between the resorts on the golf carts and always had a smile on his face! We needed directions to a restaurant and he gladly drove us there. We will be back
