Andrea - the best Concierge!
My husband and I were here in March with Friends to celebrate our birthdays and retirement. Andrea was our concierge and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. I would go back to Secrets Tulum just because of Andrea. She gets 5 STARS

It was just OK...nice staff but some annoyances.
We stayed at Secrets Tulum and guess it was what we expected after reading the reviews. Staff was very friendly but after traveling all day, the last thing you want is a sales presentation on "credits" to be used at the resort. These are just coupons...like $60 off a $260 massage which costs $50 on the beach. Very, very irritating way to start the stay. The food was pretty good in our opinion but specialty drinks were too sugary and not made with real fruit, Ariel in the sports bar was kind enough to dial up a game for me to watch. It was a bit or work and appreciated but after accidentally leaving a pull over of my favorite team behind, it was never returned. I checked security multiple times without luck. Not cool. The shuttle to the beach was fine and not a surprise since we read that this resort wasn't on the beach. Beach was very nice and food available. Probably the best part of the stay. There were several groups of heavy drinkers for the entire day and loud to wee hours in the morning at times but also not a surprise. This is a apparently a problem since we had to sign a "behavior contract" a check in which allowed the resort to expel guests if they get too unruly.

So Far Below Expectations...Beware
During my stay, I had 2 different rooms. The first - the Preferred master suite penthouse - was destroyed. It's clearly used for parties and not regular guests. The AC was terribly warm, and the ceiling fan was so noisy I could hear it from the patio. Maintenance was called and visited; nothing was fixed. My second room was much better, but the bathroom smelled of weed and there was a dirty q-tip on the bathroom floor. There were footprints throughout the bathroom so I assume it wasn't cleaned prior to my arrival. My overall experience was terrible and nothing that I would expect with the Secrets brand. Overall, the food was mostly inedible and the inconsistency in F&B and service was wild - no matter the bar or restaurant. I've stayed at Impressions and Breathless properties - and this particular Secrets property is on-par with a Riu. Zero pool service, towels in cheezy treasure chest boxes...all for $1k/night. My poor experience started with check-in - having to fill-in paper forms on a clipboard after booking directly and being a WoH member. Then, when I just want to get to my room, I had to sit through a 15-minute sales presentation. I've NEVER experienced this in any of my ~40 resort visits to Mexico - especially when Preferred and paying $1k/night. My room was ready and I was being held hostage with a "glass of champagne" that was clearly the well 9% sparkling wine offered in-room and throughout the resort. I look forward to sharing more details and images with Hyatt and American Express...including how I took a room downgrade given that my original room was un-inhabitable but yet zero discount or refund was offered. Upon check-out, Kevin, the "front desk manager" said he would email me immediately for details about my experience. Surprise, no email. Biggest takeaway - food is absolutely terrible and mostly inedible - especially from the “specialty restaurants”.

Overall Very Satisfied
Very beautiful especially at night time. Night life slows down 10ish Sports bar underwhelming Mediterranean Main Course was okay, least favourite of all Lots of pools, loved the pool side service of the preferred pools, 2 of them, both food and drink

Gorgeous property!
Gorgeous new resort property in Tulum! We went for our pre-wedding-moon and it was very romantic, as an adults only resort. We particularly liked that this resort was away from the busy and loud hotel strip, but conveniently has its own beach club.
