    Great trip!

This review is long overdue! We went for our honeymoon and it was our 1st time at a resort. We enjoyed our stay, and loved the VIP buffet. We loved everyone and want to give a special shoutout to Martin, Zoila, Carlos and Daiana who were amazing!

    Worst Resort We've Ever Visited

This resort/hotel is a 2-star, at best. We’re probably the most easygoing travelers out there, and this was hands down the worst vacation we’ve ever taken. Upon arrival, all we wanted to do was check in and go to our room. It was late—around 10 PM. The staff aggressively insisted on taking our bags, even though we only had two and were fine carrying them ourselves. The staff at the door, carrying the bags, and at check-in barely made eye contact, let alone smiled. This lack of hospitality was a recurring theme throughout our stay. When we got to the room, there were (what appeared to be) blood stains on our blanket. It was super late, and we didn’t feel like dealing with it, so we stripped the bed down to what looked clean and went to sleep. We requested (via their app) facecloths every single day because they NEVER left any. Guess how many we got? Two. Not two per day—just two for the entire week. Even when we called to ask for them, they’d either not show up or bring everything else we requested except the facecloths. One day, housekeeping didn’t even put pillowcases on the pillows. Three times, they failed to restock the mini fridge. The bar situation is a JOKE. During the day, there are three bars open: one in the lobby, one IN the pool, and one on the beach. The beach bar constantly ran out of items like limes, mint, and even alcohol. It was also understaffed, often with just one or two bartenders serving the entire beach. The other bar was IN the pool, meaning that if you were sitting around the resort or even beside the pool, you had to get into the water and walk over to the swim-up bar to get a drink. Only once was there a server walking around delivering drinks outside the pool. Despite giving her a large tip, she only came by twice in over four hours—and only on that one day. The other bar on the beach is reserved for the upgraded package, which costs approximately $500 CAD per week. The servers at the buffet were the worst we’ve experienced in any country we’ve visited. There was no system in place at all. In a dining room with over 400 seats, servers bounced randomly from zone to zone with no rhyme or reason. As a result, we waited 10–15 minutes every day just to get a glass of water. Want coffee? Another 10–15-minute wait. No smiles, no eye contact—just awful service. That said, the food itself was good. The à la carte restaurants are essentially buffets. This was the first time we’d ever seen that. Da Mario’s did have a "fresh" pasta station, but the single chef reused old pasta and sauce to make "new" dishes—not appealing at all. The second à la carte restaurant we tried was mostly buffet-style, except for a server who "carved" meat onto plates. We were served sausages and chicken. The sausage was about one-third of a link, and the chicken was raw in the middle. We left and went to the main buffet instead. The beach isn’t private and is overrun with solicitors. One day, I counted eight different men aggressively approaching us in just 30 minutes, selling cigars, rum, toys, jewelry, and more. It’s impossible to relax when constantly interrupted. Every day at around 3 PM, the staff would perform a "club dance" by the pool—the same routine every single day. It looked so forced, with half of them barely smiling. Watching them perform felt uncomfortable, almost as if they were doing it against their will. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation, this simply isn’t the resort to choose. The beach, the resort, the staff, and the overall experience are far below the asking price. Save your money and look elsewhere.

    Thank you Sunscape🫶🏼

I had a holiday at the same hotel for the 3rd time with my friends. It is a wonderful hotel and has very smiling and loving employees. The pools and the beach are cleaned every evening. My room is perfectly clean. There are great food options. There are definitely open buffets where you can eat something at any time. Fresh fruits are excellent. The most important thing for me was the internet service. Although you are far from the hotel, the internet works smoothly along the whole beach. There are separate activities for children and adults during the day and in the evenings. We can't wait to have a holiday at the same hotel again. We had a wonderful 2 week holiday with my friends. Thank you Sunscape

Beautiful But Underwhelmed Especially for a Hyatt owned resort

Every Single Staff member was amazing!! The resort is very clean, with well kept grounds The food definitely left us underwhelmed and if you craved better quality food it would cost you way more $$$$ Not to mention we got very ill. So did many other guests.
