Hope the vacation gets better. Off to a bad start!!
My family and I arrived 10/5/24. We are scheduled to stay here until 10/11/24. 3 hrs into our arrival I am not happy. The checkin employee was pushing a timeshare. Then we waited an hour and a half for our food in the Mexican restaurant which still did not come.

IVAN FROM FIESTA AMERICANA WAS AWESOME
Ivan was a great person who attended us at the sushi restaurant. He was always Very friendly and always attentive to our service. He recommended us dishes and drinks to me and my family. Sushi restaurant was a great experience in the hotel my second favorite restaurant at the resort. Sadly they close on Tuesdays. A most when you visit this resort.

Terrible Night Club
Everything was good but the night club was terrible. Music was good and we walked in, but they had chairs setup in rows like a creeper show in a night club. My friends and I walked in and immediately walked out. I’m still here for the next 3 days, hope this improves otherwise never coming back.

A perfect resort if you are mobile and willing to walk!
Ok, first off, this is an amazing resort. But you should know what you are gettin into before you make your final decision. The number one issue with this resort is that it combines all inclusive with “non all inclusive” and your wristband determines which one you get. If you book all inclusive, great! But you should know that because this resort also services non-all inclusives, there are some drawbacks if you are used to the “exclusively all inclusive” resorts. The biggest drawback is that this resort does not have a buffet-style snack bar that you can access any time you want. That isn’t to say that you can’t get food anytime, because you can….but you can’t just pop into a snack bar, grab a burger and fries, and then be off. You have to sit down at a table and have someone wait on you, no matter what. So keep that in mind, if you are used to that kind of thing. Second, is the rooms. Most of the rooms are a good solid 15 minute walk up BIG hills to get to them. If you aren’t super mobile, you will be stuck waiting for a golf cart most of the time you want to get to your room. if you forget something in the room, there is no such thing as a quick trip back to the room to grab it. BUT, and this is IMPORTANT - The views at this hotel are second to none. You know how sometimes you get a room at a resort and they say “Ocean View” and you can see the ocean if you go onto your balcony, lean over the edge and maybe you can see a slice of the ocean? Not here…the views are absolutely breathtaking, since most of the hotel is built into the side of a mountain. Even at most of the restaurants, there is a view that other resorts would die to have. So if you prioritize having an amazing view of the ocean over a short walk back to your room, then this is the resort for you. Overall, we had a fantastic time. The staff was crazy helpful and hard working, but there were some inconsistencies that were less than optimal. For example, the “app” that gave you the times that restaurants were open, entertainment, etc. were often quite wrong, so we never knew if something was going to be open. It happened a few times that we would show up and then find out that particular restaurant was closed that day, or that entertainment wasn’t happening that night. Also, because this is not an “all inclusive all inclusive” resort, bars don’t open until later in the day, waiters don’t work until 11, etc., so there were so many times that we were turned away from a bar because they “don’t open until 10 minutes later” which wasn’t great. Also, don’t be fooled by some of the so called amenities that are advertised online. For example, our mini-bar wasn’t ever restocked. Not once. The WiFi in the rooms only worked about 60% of the time, which was really frustrating. The hot water in our room took over 10 minutes to start coming out of the shower, so we had to build a routine to get the hot water to show up…and we notified the front desk twice and there was never an update. When we checked in, our room woudn’t be ready until 3, but there was magically a king room, close to the pool, if we paid $250 and went to the time share presentation. I can tell you with confidence that there is no way this resort was more than 50% booked, but there just wasn’t ANY king bed rooms available unless we went to the timeshare preso. So don’t expect to have a king bed unless you are willing to give up one of your breakfasts to meet with the timeshare team (we declined) and pay more. Overall, the staff was unbelievably good, and they worked so hard to make our stay great, and it was….the one thing I wish that was different was access to a snack bar during the day. That would have made this the perfect stay. Also, the beach is less than what we expected, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The beach is very pebbly sand, and hurts quite a bit, even with shoes on. Don’t expect to spend a lot of time in the ocean or on the beach…it just isn’t that fun. Not their fault, but if you are expecting the white sands of Cancun, you will be very disappointed. For restaurants, you can’t beat the Sushi restaurant. The wait staff was wonderful, the food was great, and we ended up eating there three times in our week long stay. The grill’s burgers are very good, and the ceviche had great fish tacos. 10 out of 10 for location, views and service….you just need to know what kind of things you prioritize before you book..if you know what you are getting into, this might be the best resort out there!

Nice resort with excellent service
I traveled here with my sister for her 50th birthday. We stayed 5 nights in a garden view room and overall, it was a good trip. Our arrival was a bit disappointing - the staff in the lobby and at the front desk weren't super welcoming. Our room was nice and the "garden view" actually included a view of the ocean, which was a lovely surprise. The beds were super comfortable and housekeeping service was excellent. The breakfast buffet at Vina del Mar was amazing, but the food in the other restaurants was hit and miss, with dinner at the Peninsula restaurant being a total miss (the service was great, but the food was horrible). Dinner at Blu and at the Italian restaurant were much better, but the flavor profiles of many dishes across the resort just seemed "off". The ambience and service at the Sushi bar was incredible. The beach was great, and we were pleasantly surprised that we could relax in the ocean and watch fish swim at our feet! The spa was the highlight of the trip, I highly recommend booking a spa service and enjoying the hydrotherapy circuit. Overall, a nice trip and the price point of our stay was a good value.
