Review Joia Grand Rose Hall Prestige Club Beach Area
Donavon at The Prestige Lounge at the beach is amazing. He is dedicated to ensuring the guests are well looked after. The sun beds are placed where you need them(within the rules of the Club, of course). The cabanas are kept clean, comfortable. Very nice, friendly personality. Anything he can assist with, just ask. If it can be done, it will be. Attention to detail, that's Donavon. The beach area under his direct pervue is always kept very clean. Much love and respect.

Lovely Vacation.
I went with my wife to celebrate her birthday. We had an amazing time at the hotel, the food was great, beautiful scenery, very relaxing. For breakfast we always had the Jamaican options, we were never disappointed. For dinner we ate dinner at the Galleon, the Port Maria and also did the buffet. The meals were awesome. Only bad experience was on the first night at thr Galleon where we had to put our names on a waiting list to be able to eat there and it took a long time to get served. Including the fact that most of what we wanted wasn’t available. Other than that we had an amazing time. Huge shout outs to Alex at the Port Maria restaurant, he is awesome. Concierge Marvalyn was totally marvelous. She’s very nice and totally committed to making guests feel welcome and supported. They definitely helped to make the trip memorable.

Our first, but not last, trip to Jamaica!
As I sit here, first day home from a wonderful vacation, I wanted to share some thoughts about JOIA Rose Hall. There have been so many highs and so few lows on our first visit to Jamaica. Here we go… - We used Club Mobay for arrival and departure, but there were no lines so it probably could have been avoided . - We booked transport through the resort and it was a short ride in a nice air conditioned SUV - Our first impressions were that the resort and grounds are every bit as nice as the JOIA Paraiso in Mexico which we love. - The room is perfect and cold! Others have said they are dated, but I don’t see that at all - We were celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary and the staff didn’t miss a chance to wish us a happy anniversary or decorate our room, fill the bathtub with roses and bubbles or decorate our dinner table. It was really great. - Our butlers, Owen, Orain and Rohan were there for us all day every day - We are members of the Iberostar Club. Cedric, our member experience ambassador is one of a kind. There’s nothing he can’t get done. As I said to him today, if there was ever a job that was perfect for someone, this job is perfect for him. He made our vacation even more special than it already was . - The buffets are hit or miss. It’s buffet food. Some stuff is delicious, some is so-so. - The buffet staff is the same, but mostly miss. It sometimes takes forever to get a drink and a refill is non-existent. Some were friendly, some were less than friendly. - The a la carte restaurant staff, other than our waitress at the Japanese restaurant was great - We ate at Japanese, the steakhouse (twice) and Italian (twice). We also had the buffet once and room service once. Other than the buffet and room service (cold food), the food was excellent across the board - The pool area is perfect. In my opinion, it beats JOIA Paraiso hands down and that view of the ocean from the infinity pool is priceless - The SP beach area is great. I’m sorry it took until the last day for us to make it there My wife and I agree, we will absolutely be back here VERY soon!

Average stay but decent views and service
First time in Jamaica and also at an Iberostar. Came based on the high reviews, all places have good and bad, these are the highlights for our very short 3 night stay at an Oceanview: Good - Service was friendly, resort is very walkable. We loved the spa and felt this was a very missed opportunity to relax (no appt needed) with lots of jacuzzi and heated seats so don’t sleep on this one!! We also enjoyed the Japanese hibatchi and show from our chef who was funny and engaging Bad - the rooms need updating. Our sink had a crack in it. There is a moldy smell through out the resort. The coffee machine at the coffee shop was broken. Buffet food mediocre. Lots of vendors at the beach selling stuff, kind of annoying. Smell of cigar or weed everywhere, I wish they had a non smoking section. Tip - Beware of their membership / timeshare presentation. We took their offer for a free massage and now I wish I had just paid for it. They are super nice in the beginning and say no pressure but there is pressure and once they can’t make the sale the friendliness goes away. Our fault for doing this so save your precious vacation time and use it at the beach, pool or spa. Unless you want the membership, which honestly felt like scam.

Friendly staff, great food and wonderful beachfront
Fabulous food and facilities. Beach front room with swing on deck worth it. Wide range of restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our buttlers Gary, Ralston, Kadeen and Rohan were great! Fun music, singers and activities at night. Fitness facilities were top notch.
