I am sure will be amazing when renovations are complete
I booked this hotel because a friend of mine came on her honeymoon but that was a year and half ago. When we got to the resort it did not look anything like we thought it would. No penguins, no wildlife and as a matter of fact the pool was not working for a few days. We spoke with management and they were so understanding and accommodating they did everything they could to make us happy. That being said, everyone here ws so nice and we really had a great time. The food is great, the pool when it was up and running was nice, although you have to go out early if you want a chair especially with an umbrella as there are not that many. The buffet breakfast is amazing. The rooms are clean and bed is comfortable. There is not really a beach but not Hyatt's fault. you have to go down a few hotels to get to a bigger beach. We actually went to Napili which has beautiful beaches or Black Rock beach is great too. the luau was good including the food. I would not recommend staying until all their renovations are done which is hopefully soon just because it is very expensive to come to Hawaii and you want to be happy where you are staying for the price you are paying.

Picture perfect vacation
We absolutely loved our stay at Hyatt Regency Maui! From the warm welcome to the breathtaking ocean views, everything felt like paradise. The resort grounds are stunning—with waterfalls, gardens, and even penguins! Our room had an incredible ocean view, and the sound of the waves was so calming. The pool area was fun and spacious, perfect for families, and the beach was ideal for relaxing or catching a sunset. Dining was excellent, and the luau was a memorable highlight. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout. Highly recommend for a luxurious yet relaxed Maui experience!

Beautiful and relaxing
Hyatt was very pleasant the views were wonderful. The staff was great. Had many dinner choices, the only draw back I saw was not many lunch options. There are a few shops near by, this is a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the island of Maui.

Overpriced...Stay Away
Completely overpriced resort. Penguin exhibit was closed. Pools weren't working for a majority of our stay. The Hyatt Vacation pool was...but that just meant you had three pools' worth of vacationers piled into one. This angered the Hyatt Vacation people who took it out on us. Just a bad situation. Also, don't believe any photos before early 2025. The swim up bar and waterfall are closed. Either pay a little more for a nicer resort, or save a couple bucks and go somewhere "not as nice."

Paradise in Maui!
We loved our ocean view room! Feels like we are in paradise. We really enjoyed our stay. We swam with turtles and fishes just in front of the hotel. The checkin and checkout were hassle free. Will definitely be back on this resort when we visit Maui again.
