Sep 23, 2024Wonderful Experience at Grand Velas
This resort is absolutely amazing! Everyone that works at the resort is welcoming and so kind. The grounds are beautiful and the infinity edge tiered pool couldn't be more relaxing. We did try some of the activities that the resort had planned throughout the day such as boogie boarding and volleyball, but there were also kayaking and bicycle tours. Carlos was always on the beach and would walk around the pool to encourage people to tryout the activities. He was very knowledgeable about the surf's conditions and always there to help out when you wanted to try an activity. Our concierge, Luis, was wonderful and checked in with us daily while we were there to help arrange dinner, a trip into town or a spa appointment. We tried all four of the restaurants and loved our meals and each one. The breakfast and lunch buffets at Azul were also wonderful and full of so many choices that it was hard to decide. Our daughter also really enjoyed the teens club that included pool, air hockey table and karaoke. We can't wait to go back!!

The best!
We came back to the resort after 10 years and it was better than ever. The service here is the best, the resort is quieter and calmer than others which can be packed with guests and busy pools, the food is delicious and fresh, and the rooms and roomy and luxurious. A special thanks to Dulce, Carlos and Amina for making our trip so fun and memorable for the whole family.

Our favourite spot in Riviera Nayarit
We love this hotel. We have stayed here at least 10 or 12 times, the staff is wonderful, they all try very hard to make tour stay special. The facilities are great. the restaurants are wonderful all under the leadership of Chef Guillaume Morance. The hotel Manager, Pilar has been running this facility for at least 7 years or maybe more and she is doing a fantastic job. If you like the beach, and not a boom boom hotel where you can’t relax, then you will love Grand Velas, it has some entertainment but only till 10 pm which is perfect.

Phenomenal Luxury Resort & Family Friendly
We honeymooned at this resort 10 years ago and had been raving about it ever since. After finally getting back there I would say it's still an amazing resort, however, very little has changed in 10 years so most of our experience was expected. I would still highly recommend it, but I personally might be looking for the next best thing. The lobby and welcoming is amazing and the staff does an excellent job of making you feel well taken care of. Our concierge, Perla, would check on us daily to ensure everything was satisfactory and to confirm our dinner plans. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. This was much appreciated and helpful to know we'd always have 1 main person to contact for anything. For this trip we stayed in the Parlor Suite as we were traveling with our kids. The room is massive and offers so much space and privacy from the main hallway. Our cleaning crew was amazing and our mini bar with snacks was always well stocked with what we requested - much appreciated! The restaurants are all 5 stars and again the staff works very hard to ensure you are happy with your meal and service. This includes Azul, the new coffee bar, and in-suite dining. Everything was delicious and we found ourselves almost too full every day. Kevyn at Piaf was amazing to us and let us call down to the Kids Club to check on our kids during our meal. I will say the Kids Club receives more thanks than I can give in this forum. My kids absolutely loved it and asked to go several times a day over swimming at the pool. They offered hourly activities, including a few character events, and the kids could hang out there while my husband and I enjoyed a dinner alone. This is not common in the US and I was certainly hesitant, but they loved it! Domenika is absolutely amazing and I instantly felt her trust and compassion within minutes of meeting her. All of the staff was so welcoming and they work very hard to keep the kids occupied and happy. We did not use this service 10 years ago so I'm unsure of how it's evolved. Seeing as we spent 95% of our trip at the pool, we really appreciated the pool staff. It was a sunny 90 degrees during our trip and they never looked hot or tired. After 1 day of learning what we liked, they would have our usual favorites ready for us within minutes of claiming our chairs. While I didn't always need/want my usual drink at 11am, the service and attention to detail was so appreciated. Gustavo, Diego, everyone behind the swim-up bar, and the outdoor activity team were fantastic! Unfortunately the spa and fitness center were undergoing remodeling and while you could still use some of their services elsewhere, it was a little disappointing. The addition of the coffee bar was nice, and perhaps for the future some sort of ice cream set-up could be added like a soft serve with toppings within Azul for the kids. While we did receive a complimentary wine/treat our first night, I almost expected more fun surprises as we were celebrating an anniversary and chose the same resort, but I completely understand this is not the norm. When we honeymooned, we did receive some sort of surprise every night. Again, this resort is phenomenal and should be considering the price, but after coming here twice I might keep my options open for future trips.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Never disappoints! Our 3rd time back at grand velas. Has become a yearly long weekend trip for us. We go back becuase of the great food, cleanliness, and most of all the service from their staff. Specifically: Jose the pool captain he always goes above and beyond for us every time we are there… and his team is Top notch! Gilberto especially Can’t say enough nice things about Jose Jorge Ramos the pool concierge was absolutely incredible and made our stay memorable. Luis the concierge was great guiding us throughout our trip, and even personally decorated our room for birthday! Carlos the activities, always makes the experience more fun and enjoyable We love seeing the same people when we go, it’s what keeps us coming back.
