Mar 25, 2025Excellent service and entertainment for a week at the beach!
Beautiful resort with excellent service, pools, and sand beach. Food ranges from average to excellent. Grounds are beautifully kept and appreciated all the plants and walking paths. A little noisy if your room is near one of the lounges but quiet overnight. Variety of restaurants with no reservations required and some extensive buffets. Nightly entertainment is varied and excellent! Enjoyed all the shows! Great resort for a week away!

BEST VACATION EVER
We have been to this resort 5 times and this past time was our absolute favorite. We were lucky enough to bring my parents who were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to make every single day so special (Max, Liz, Gina, Carla, Rene/Alejandro). When deciding where we wanted to go, we chose Secrets Akumal again because of specific staff members- Max and Gina from the entertainment team- and Max yet again blew us away with his love and kindness. They created a special moment for my parents that had us all crying tears of joy that we will absolutely never forget. Until we meet again family, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.

Great Mexican Beach Resort.
We spent 10 days at Secrets Akumal in March 2025. We have been there several times. We believe it is one of the top resorts south of Cancun. It is an hours drive south of the Cancun Airport. I suggest you obtain direct ground transportation. The campus is beautiful. The landscaping is amazing. Akumal has three large pools to choose from and most of the buildings have swim out pools if you select those rooms. The main pools have drink and food service during the day. The beach has lounge chairs, cabana beds and a beach bar. It also has drink and food service. Many people snorkel off the beach to see the turtles. There are nine buildings spread around the campus. Each building has a concierge to assist you with anything. They are very good at helping with any issue you have. Akumal has preferred rooms and non preferred rooms. Preferred give you some more perks like access to another bar, restaurant, and some services at the Spa, etc. Nice, but not mandatory. Several restaurants to chose from. For dinner, they have a French, Italian, Greek, Mexican, Japanese, Steak House and Seafood restaurants. Men must wear slacks to these except for Steak and Seafood. Shorts and flip-flops are allowed everywhere else. A few nights a week they have an outside dinner and show. This is a buffett and can be faster and fun. Lunch has several choices with many right around the pools. They do have the usual breakfast and lunch buffett. They have a good Spa and a weight room. They have an entertainment staff that offers many things during the day around the pool and most nights a show. The best thing is the Staff. They do everything well. If there is a problem, they go out of their way to fix it.

Beautiful resort, very clean. Our room was located in the preferred section Building 4, our Consigre was Sofia🥰, was was the best she took care of us like family , she was always around when needed. We arrived early and was escorted to the Preferred Club where we checked in which was very quick. The club had a great bar and there was always something to eat. Our room was located on the 3rd floor, very clean and comfortable. Pedro kept our room clean and tidy, he was great 😀, our refrigerator and snacks were always stocked. Luved all the restaurants, they were all my favorites great selection of hot and cold appetizers and there entrees were fantastic, our waiter’s were always friendly and courteous. The main pool was a beautiful infinity pool. Our pool consiegre Antonio and Ruben were always around they were great . Always great food around the pool area, they had an ice cream cart that would come around the pool and the beach. The entertainment around the pool during the day was great I enjoyed our pool spin class every morning Carla was great so was Arantxa . The entertainment team set up all the different activities around the pool and beach, we played boccie that was fun Carlos part of the entertainment team was great he also taught us Archery and also took us out along with Alejandro swimming with the turtles 🐢 they were great and took care of us while we were out snorkeling. The Entertainment Team were all fantastic, will miss Gina, Javier, Andrea, Carla ,Carlos, Alejandro ,I probably missing more . Night time shows were fun alway great live music. Can’t wait to go back😀🥰

Best all inclusive we've stayed at
My husband and I did a week vacation here and have nothing but good things to say! The food was absolutely amazing, the staff was very intentional and accommodating, everything was timeless and clean, just a wonderful atmosphere overall. Diana was our concierge and was so cheery every time we walked past her desk, eager to help us in anyway she could! I got a relaxing massage at the spa by Michelle and my experience was worth every penny! Liz, Carla, and Gina from the entertainment staff were so fun and engaging! It always amazes me how well they remember our names and keep us involved in many fun activities like a pool spin class which I would highly recommend and they were a riot at the silent disco! Carla ended up chatting with us by the pool for a while one day and just the fact she took the time to answer our random questions about tourism and Mexican culture was so sweet! Richardo, Israel made sure we never went thirsty all week. Often I would tell Richardo he could make whatever drink he felt like and I was never disappointed! He remembered that I didn't like drinks too sweet from the first day I said it and always made something amazing! He is a talented mixologist! David was often checking on us by the pool and making sure we had everything we needed and more! He would even bring fresh towels for us while we were in the pool and adjust our umbrella for shade without us even asking! He went absolutely above and beyond. Out of our 5 different all inclusive experiences at various resorts this was the best thanks to the great staff and food!
