    It was OK

Bed very comfortable. Service in the lobby bar by Alberto was exceptional. 10/10 Food was so so not a fan of all inclusive buffet food 2/10 The two restaurants were very good. The drinks were also very good. All staff have been exceptional. The room was clean the TV in the room was on 24/7 but did not know what it was until our last day. Had we known we may have slept better. Other than those couple items it was a nice vacation

    Beautiful views with filthy facility

The view was amazing the staff were very kind and helpful. The food was great the bar was good and the spa relaxing with a great massage. The rooms were gross, dead roach on the stairs the entire week! Bed so uncomfortable. The shower pressure was insanely hard and the tub wouldn't drain water to my knees at the end of a very quick shower. Hair on the floor of bed and bathroom. Wall has something smudged on it dead gnat smooshed on ceiling. Blinds broken closet broken. If you are just there for the view it's worth it but if you would like some comfort and cleanliness do not go here.

    Tony makes the best drinks!

Great experience! Had the best time with Tony at the lobby bar! Highly recommend the Chocholate Martini, but only if Tony is making it! Great time! Highly recommend! Pool was great and food delicious. Can’t wait to come back next year with the kids!

3.5 🌟 good value, not extravagant

I give Melia 3.5/5 stars. It's a decent resort that definitely shows wear and tear across the entire property (IMO) in a GREAT location right in the marina. - I traveled with a group of 10 mixed family and friends. It was my first time in PV, but have been to multiple AI spots in the Caribbean (Cancun/Playa Del Carmen, DR, Jamaica). - I loved the location of the resort with it being in the marina. The marina experience is honestly one of the things I remember most about Melia. Great little (or long) escape from the resort redundancies. A very easy and short walk (paved) to the marina for adventure/shopping/excursion booking/pharmacy (if that's your thing in Mexico)/local meal/sports bar. We went one late morning for a drink atop the lighthouse and one evening for US sports viewing. Highly recommend at least walking around the marina one time during your stay. Also very close (and cheap ride) to the airport. Also pretty close to Melacon/Zona Romantica/touristy PV. - Beach was great. Rocky unlike the Caribbean beaches but that was well known and documented. You're able to walk up and down the beach quite a ways without interruption. The views of the bay and surrounding mountains are phenomenal! Definitely don't get that in the Caribbean, and one of the reasons we went to PV. - Rooms: Garden room facing resort grounds. Dated (Common theme) furniture, thin wood door that seemed to be more of a speaker that amplified noise than a blocker. Bathroom was good, hot water and water pressure never an issue. - Key cards were an issue multiple times during our week long stay. First time was likely our fault putting key next to phone, deactivated it. A few more times our keys (multiple rooms) did not work. Staff was apologetic and not their fault, but frustrating nonetheless. - Pool is big and has plenty of chairs around it (even in peak season). It's wore out cosmetically and a little chilly, but it was a nice cooling for our stay and you quickly adjusted to it. The swim up bar doesn't open until 11, and service is 'meh' typically; tipping helps!! Couldn't do specialty drinks like the lobby bar. - Buffet food was above average compared to other places I've been. Kind of redundant foods, but daily themes helped. There is a made-to-order station for meals that is nice. Service was mediocre but friendly. Other restaurants were good, but not great. They were unable to seat the 10 of us together even though we all reserved together and was written on our reservation sheets. Nothing to write home about for me. - Drinks overall were good. They have Captain Morgan and Absolut for some higher end liquors. We enjoyed dirty monkeys, Miami Vices, and Margaritas around the pool. In the lobby, we enjoyed g&ts, martinis (espresso! chocolate, lemon), and old fashioneds. Lobby bar closes earlier than we anticipated (11 was cut off, closed at midnight, I believe and staff shooed you away to your rooms). - Entertainment was rather forgettable. During the day there might be pool bingo or some interactive game, otherwise a "DJ" that seemed to just press play on a playlist and stand there. Night entertainment was bland. We went 2 nights and were disinterested in the rest. (Surprisingly no MJ show during our stay) - Staff was generally accommodating. House keeping was wonderful, friendly, and attentive. Food staff was accommodating but overall seemed to lack the enthusiasm and friendliness that housekeeping excelled at. Front desk staff was worst for our group. Anything other than info readily available on a pamphlet/binder was a bother to them. One of our group had a more pressing issue and asked to speak to a supervisor, who was out for the day, and given a time to come back the next day. Next day, neither the said supervisor, nor was any supervisor was in (at 11am after breakfast). They were dismissive and avoiding the issue. The issue remained, and eventually got it taken care of, but not a great experience. Maybe a one-off experience, but sour taste still. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Melia. The marina and proximity to PV itself were big perks, unfortunately for us, the resort itself was mediocre. We are looking at returning to PV but not to this resort. Supposedly, it is in the process of being updated. Unsure how that has been going.
