Jul 12, 2025One of the Best Hotel Experiences of My Life
I don’t typically write reviews, but I felt compelled to after staying at Grand Velas in Puerto Vallarta. To be clear, I didn’t plan or book this trip—my wife did—but I can honestly say this turned out to be one of the best vacations I’ve ever had, and easily the highest-quality hotel I’ve ever stayed at. We chose the all-inclusive package, though “all-inclusive” barely captures what this experience really is. It’s not just about food and drinks. It’s about being able to forget about your wallet completely while being treated with world-class service at every turn. If I could rename it, I’d call it the “Relax, Be Pampered, and Enjoy Everything Without Limits” package. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. The service was consistently warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. The property itself is immaculate—lush, beautifully maintained, and tastefully luxurious without ever feeling stuffy. The restaurants on-site were a real highlight. Each meal felt like dining at a five-star fine dining establishment. The variety, the quality, and the presentation were impeccable. Room service matched that same standard. Our suite was spacious, beautifully furnished, and maintained with care throughout our stay. The spa is rated one of the best in the world the concierge level service and attention was amazing. What impressed me most is that this didn’t feel like a “nice hotel in Mexico.” This felt like a world-class international resort that just happens to be located in Mexico. Grand Velas delivers a level of hospitality and quality that rivals the top properties in Europe, United States or anywhere else I’ve been fortunate enough to visit. If I had to offer one suggestion, it would be to expand the adults-only area. It’s a bit small and somewhat overlaps with family zones. A little more separation would make it even more relaxing for those of us traveling without kids. All in all, Grand Velas Puerto Vallarta has now earned a spot on my short list of the best vacation experiences of my life. I’ll definitely be back.

Luxury without compromise. All day, every day.
Luxury without compromise, all day and every day. Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit exceeded expectations on every occasion. We travelled with two adults and our 8 year old daughter. All members of the family had an experience that leaves us wanting to come back soon. Our concierge, Perla Rodriguez was phenomenal, scheduling dinners, recommending excursions, setting up car services, and providing local knowledge that proved to be invaluable to the enjoyment of our stay. Perla even set up a birthday banner, balloons, and cake for our daughter's 8th birthday. We put our trust in Perla and she always came through with great recommendations to eat, shop, and maximize the amenities at the resort and PV in general. Grand Velas does not cut corners on service and guest experience. All servers worked in pairs, our pool servers were Zenon & Leonel and David at the Koi Bar offered exceptional attention and impeccable recommendations. We never waited or felt wanting of a drink or food at any time. Resort room service was always available and was delivered faster than the 35 minute delivery quote. The Buffett, Azul, offered a fresh & savory options for all tastes with a level of service more consistent with a private/fine dining restaurant. The housekeeping and turn down service was quick, pleasant, and followed up as expected. The Resort Restaurants exceeded expectations and are a true fine dining experience. Frida and Lucca stand out for local seafood, steak, and big flavor. All the restaurants had multiple server teams with featured daily drink, appetizer, and after dinner desert. The dining rooms are beautiful and you never felt rushed or abandoned. The Kids Club offered a variety of art projects, gaming, zip line, and various other entertainment and enrichment options. Our daughter went almost every night, enjoyed the food, and felt well taken care of. Kids Club was for more attentive than other resorts we have stayed at in the past. The team at Grand Velas facilitated a memorable and relaxing vacation for our family. I would absolutely come back to this location in PV and would have no hesitation on patronizing any of their other resorts. I would recommend asking for Perla for any recommendations or excursions during your stay, before you look at online or major tour services. Perla was able to tailor exactly to our need and that makes a big difference.

The perfect resort for your destination wedding
As a wedding planner, it is important to me that when a couple selects a venue for their destination wedding that it is one that will go above and beyond to make their wedding weekend a dream come true. And I have found that with Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. From the moment I first connected with Leticia and Gabriela, I knew that my clients were in the best hands possible. Grand Velas is an amazing venue for a wedding. With the fact that they only host one wedding per day, provide special amenities to the Bride and Groom like room service delivered on the day of the wedding for them and the bridal party, room upgrades, private check in for guests on the main arrival day and more, this property is truly a hidden gem. I cannot recommend them enough for not just a wedding weekend but also for an amazing vacation. The property is stunning, with all rooms facing the ocean and kept immaculately clean. The food is delicious from breakfast by the ocean to the specialty restaurants and room service. Everything is so carefully thought out for guest enjoyment. I cannot wait to bring my next couple here for their wedding and to also have a wonderful getaway with my Husband soon.

A Week of Accessibility, Kindness, and Luxury at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit
We just returned from an unforgettable week at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, and I can’t say enough about the incredible service and thoughtfulness of the entire staff. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how accommodating and kind everyone was—especially for my husband, who has a spinal cord injury and uses a manual wheelchair full-time. The trip started off perfectly with the welcome massages, which set the tone for a week of relaxation and luxury. It was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel instantly at ease. Raymond, the Pool Concierge, was absolutely phenomenal. We were thrilled to learn the resort had just purchased a beach wheelchair, and with the help of Alec Gomez, the Lifeguard, they safely brought my husband to a beach cabana. They made sure he was always in the perfect shade and were quick to help him in and out of the pool whenever he wanted a swim. It’s rare to feel so genuinely cared for—and these two went above and beyond every single day. Gabriel, our beach waiter, was also outstanding. Because of my husband’s condition, he doesn’t sweat, so Gabriel frequently brought us fresh towels and kept our ice bucket filled without us even having to ask. He was attentive, warm, and always on top of everything. At the spa, Letecia and Carmen gave us the best massages we’ve ever had. Their hands are pure magic. And special thanks to Raymondo, who was right there to help my husband transfer onto the massage table with care and professionalism. Our daughters (age 16) also had a blast thanks to Carlos, who gave them great surf lessons and made all the beach activities—especially volleyball—so fun and engaging. We also loved all of the restaurants—the food, the service, and the ambiance were exceptional. Uziel, Jorge, and Jorge (yes, two amazing staff members with the same name!) made each dining experience even better with their outstanding service and warm personalities. The only exception was Frida, where we had a small issue one evening. But it was just a minor hiccup in an otherwise perfect stay and didn’t take away from our amazing experience. The resort itself is impressively accessible. When we encountered a couple of small barriers, the staff acted quickly to make adjustments—removing the legs from the bed for easier transfers and even taking off the bathroom door so my husband’s wheelchair could fit through comfortably. Those may seem like small things, but they made a huge difference in our experience. Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is more than just a luxury resort—it’s a place that truly cares about all its guests. We’re already dreaming of our next visit.

Customer service extraordinary!!!!
The resort was impeccable. Friendliest hardest working staff we have ever experienced. Luis Mateo was over the top helpful. Eddy at lunch was amazing Edvin Freddy and Francisco were so helpful at the pool. Francisco made sure we had lounge and regular chairs at the pool. The room service staff was very timely and professional. The spa staff was very professional. The resort and staff get a 10 and we will be back.
