The Aston Waikiki Sunset pool area will be closed for maintenance work and repairs to the pool tile and deck Feb 24, 2013 - Mar 15, 2013. Work will be restricted to 8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m. Monday - Friday.
The Recreation Deck will still remain open and available for use including the tennis court, BBQ grills, hospitality room, and restrooms with saunas.Pool closure dates and times are subject to change without prior notification.

Jan 12, 2025Concerns about room view and housekeeping during my stay
I wish we had full service in our room at least once, preferably twice, or even daily during our 7-night stay. I also wish we had a better view of the ocean, as the room was advertised to have an ocean view. An unattractive building blocked most of the ocean.

Comfortable and cozy atmosphere with warm swimming pool and great barbecue place. Nice to be able to walk around the waikiki area and good to cook in a hotel room with clean kitchen. Besides, parking lot is really great with affordable price.

Guest service staff friendly. Good location , near beach, restaurants. Old, outdated property Old bedding sheets / towels with blood stains . Beds soft, pillows soft. Condo supposedly be cleaned on the 4th day but housekeeping only made up the beds, changed new towels. They did not replace beds with new, clean bedding sheets. We had to ask for new bedding sheets and had to put the clean sheets on top of the old ones ourselves. Bathroom handles rusted. Wall paint, baseboard peeling off. Cabinet drawers cannot close.

Christmas Vacay
Saw the reviews and decided to book although my initial booking was at Hilton, they had been on strike. The rooms are very much outdated with white appliances. We had the suite, but the main room did not have a tv. We did also experience roaches. There are residents who reside there, so I figured that was where they were coming from. Maintenace was awesome! Customer service was great. No complaints. Nothing to do at our hotel. It would have been a little more engaging and fun with hotel activities and restaurants, but this is basically cheap of the cheap but in good walking distance to the beaches and strip. 4 elevators that are always busy and filled with people going up and down that became a annoying after a couple days. Would not come back, but if you need to stick within a budget, it is not that bad. We also had to call Maintenace to dust because our toddler would not stop coughing. Like I said these rooms are old! Nice views of the areas and some beach views depending on your location.

It was a wonderful experience! Went were close enough to the beach to walk, and the staff gave suggestions of places to see. I would definitely recommend others visit! The dining choices near the hotel were spectacular! We went to a variety of restaurants.
- AdvisoryPlease be advised that effective immediately, the Aston Waikiki Sunset will no longer be able to accommodate parking for oversized vehicles. Any vehicle larger than a minivan will not fit into the garage. Please take this into consideration before making a rental decision.
- AdvisoryThe City and County of Honolulu, Department of Planning and Permitting implemented Revised Ordinance 22-7 (Bill 41(2021)which, among other things, requires all guests to sleep in bedrooms or a living room with a sofa bed, no more than 2 adults per room. Because of the new law the property will honor existing bookings for travel up to Nov 30,2022. But for any arrivals from Dec 01,2022,forward, both properties will be unable to accommodate any one bedroom bookings with 5 guests.
