Feb 17, 2025A relaxing ten days in paradise!
if you don't fancy waking up every day a few steps from a beautiful white sand beach then this place is probably not for you! Oh, and a white sand beach that is carefully raked flat each morning before you get up. We had read reviews before we arrived and were a little worried - but should not have been. We had booked the Level, which gave us some added extras, but also shared many areas with all the guests. The hotel is spotlessly clean, we could not fault our room, the beds were so comfortable. All the staff work so hard in all areas, and met each guest with a smile. The main buffet restaurant is clean with friendly staff waiting table for drinks. The food can be similar at times, but there is always plenty of choice and variety for all. Hot choices and cold. We have seen some reviews mentioning cold/tepid food, we did not find that this was the case. We only had one dish in ten days that was not overly hot - but no drama. The omelette man in the morning is a master of his craft! The themed restaurants are also very good, with the Fish House needing a special mention. Special mention also must go to Willien in the Hotel Bar, with his encyclopedic knowledge of cocktails. Unbelievably polite to every guest - even the more challenging ones! Praise also to Ian and Diego who work tirelessly all day, on the beach, to bring drinks to the beach area with smiles and professionalism. With note to the above all bar and restaurant staff work well, with or without offered tips. Being from the UK tipping is not natural but we soon learnt that $1 or 200MXN is the norm for most rounds. The evening shows were good a very good local guitarist, Karaoke, Mexican dancing etc - but not in your face so a choice whether you attend or not. Along the beach ti the right is a very pleasant 1 mile walk both ways, and if you time it right you can watch a perfect sunset on your way back. There are some local restaurants and the local town is only a $10.00 cab ride (each way) but we found enough to keep us in the hotel. So if you fancy some time in Paradise with a few good books, hot sunshine, peace and quiet, good food, a huge variety of drinks and just watching a pair of Pelicans dipping in and out of the sea then make sure you have a look at this place.

Mole Taco
Jorge and Justo were entertaining and informative waiters. Willy and Erick the chefs provided excellent tacos in the new restaurant. My favorite was the pasteur taco with the fresh pineapple. I enjoyed my evening eating in this new restaurant.

great location, clean room, nice facilities, perfect beach and great personnel. Only 3 minor complaints, in room fridge would not get cold by US standards, having to custom order your minibar order everyday and over all food was ok.

Great place to actually unwind and be well taken care of
Let's start by saying I love Melia resorts & hotels overall (particularly the ones in Cuba & Costa Rica). Melia Cozumel now finds it's way onto my list of great places to stay in the Caribbean. While it's not your extravagant Paradisus, Hilton or Banyan Tree experience it holds for solid quality to value. Many guests are returning clients which is always a great sign. Sitting at the top of the beach has it's perks for no one but guests wandering the beach. Unfortunately the marsh to the north let's out some brackish murky water so the beach often has a muddy water appearance and lower visibility. A real shame to an otherwise stellar spot. Go a bit to the south past the pier and the water is excellent for snorkeling so not really a deal breaker. Nice little beach with great waiter service. The Level clients can get food and drink easily and quickly. It's a smaller place so not a lot of sunbeds to be had but we were never short trying to get a lounger anytime of day. The food was top notch, lots of seating spread out through the ala carte restaurants so reservations were not an issue (make sure you do the Fish House, it's top notch). The main dining hall had good food choices with lots of seating. Drinks were well made, top shelf available with proper pouring (I don't like strong drinks, I'd rather have 2 well made than a single over powering one). The room was well appointed and kept to a good standard. Would have liked more coffee pods as we had requested every day but they never materialized. But they were easy enough to snatch a few extra from The Level lounge area. Entertainment is the usual resort fare, not much to say for or against as I rarely ever go to this stuff. Overall a great first time experience and easily makes my 'will return soon' list.

Tortuga Rum you don't have to be drunk to appreciate it.
I wouldn't even know where to begin but by saying "YOU GOTTA SEE IT FOR YOUR SELF" I don't think there was any down time from the moment we arrived. Ventanas Al Mar is above and beyond in everything they do and there's access to the beach without saying access to the beach requires a 45 minute van ride. I felt catered to and pampered and that wasn't even my goal when I arrived but they made sure it happened and I loved it.
