Excellent
The location is great, weather was perfect. Rooms were nice, food was very good. Service was average, except for Sunny in the sports bar. She was wonderful!! The concierge service was very good. They recommended a catamaran sunset cruise around the arch. It was wonderful!!

We had a great time at Villa del Palmar Cabo
We very much enjoyed our stay at the “Villa del Palmar beach resort” Cabo. Our afternoon’s lounging around and being very well looked after by “Oscar” at the pool. He was always there to take our drink order, help move the chairs or put up or down the umbrellas. He was always friendly, courteous, and efficient but never pushy. The resort itself provided a great holiday location. The resort has everything you could ask for, it’s clean and very well maintained and right on the beach. The restaurants provide great food and there are several different eating options (restaurants). We decided to go to the nightly show and buffet which provide a great selection of dishes which was “seafood” on Tuesday when we went, we were stuffed lol. There were 6 of us in our party and we all would recommend this property and Oscar at the (upper) pool bar.

Still wonderful after 10+ visits
Almost everything was excellent even with some construction. Highlights were dinner at Neptune, Pizza at the pizza bar near Bella, breakfast at Bella and definitely the tequila tasting that Jocelyn led at Bella and two relaxing massages that left me exactly as I needed to be. The only disappointment was Tomatillo where we were served overcooked fish by a grumpy waiter, All in all still a 5-star experience.

Lovely time, would recommend
Overall wonderful stay, but a few things we wish we knew beforehand. We got the all inclusive resort package from Monster so we had to do the 90 minute presentation. They hassled us for 2 hours upon arrival and made us reschedule our daily excursions (at 5 pm) twice because it was unacceptable to have any night plans on demo day or attend the tour on our third (free day). We had traveled 16 hours from Florida and they were being real jerks about it, essentially saying “play by our rules” or we will charge you $600 per day. So we changed our itinerary. The “90 minute” demo took from 8:15 am to 12:30 pm, but our sales guy was very pleasant and not pushy. It got better from there. We loved the honor bar in the room and utilized the nearly 24/7 (only closed 6-7 am) room service with EPIC breakfast every day and it came within 45 minutes every order, even at 4 am lol. The location was lovely, great view of the arches, swimmable beach, baby sea turtle releases at dawn, 5 min cab ride from the marina and 10 mins to downtown. The room was very clean and comfortable but had a dank smell the whole time and we heard water dripping from a locked closet in the bathroom. The shower nozzle broke on day 3 but they fixed it within hours. The nightly live shows were fun, some much better than others, but you def had to be in line 20 mins early to get a seat. The pool bar was great, short wait for each drink. The steak restaurant was delicious and fancy by night and turned into the “taco bar” by day which had epic sushi and I wish we had discovered it sooner. The pool service staff were super attentive, Juan was our man. We tipped well and he kept the tequila shots and mai tais coming! It shuts down HARD at 9:30 pm. There is nothing to do on site late night or on surrounding properties. You have to go off site for any ruckus. We left our 2 year old at home with grandma, but saw lots of families having a wonderful time there. Quick towel service, but only open certain hours. And don’t leave your shoes and purse at a pool chair for longer than 15 minutes because they will pile it into a corner of the property and then you have to track your stuff down. The beach vendors were a little aggressive, but they could probably tell I’m a buyer. We brought $200 in singles and tipped every service person and got treated like royalty for it. There was free kayaking and SUP’s access, but you had to walk up the beach a bit and it was first come first serve on the hour. The hot tubs were fun, but were so over-chlorinated you had to get out after 5 mins or your eyes would burn. There was some construction and noise, but it didn’t affect us too much. Our tv in the room was broken (pixelated screen) and they never fixed it or offered an alternative but we didn’t watch too much. I have Verizon and had great service the whole time. Free WiFi was plenty for emails and social media. Met a lovely couple the first night and they became our resort besties. I don’t know if we would come here again, as we had our fill after 6 days, but I would certainly recommend it to other couples or families. They picked us up from the airport for free, but it was $95 for the ride back because we could not get our Uber app to work there. 4.5/5

We Love this Place, but….
We have been owners here for several years and love this place because of its laid back aura, friendly staff and proximity to the harbour, shopping and restaurants. But, this year, we noticed a few things that were a bit disappointing, namely that the phone and internet connection throughout our stay was horrible, housekeeping was hit or miss and the carpeting in the hallways of building 1, in particular, needing replacement as it’s absolutely filthy. The phone service and internet was extremely concerning as we had an alarm warning at our home that we didn’t receive in a timely manner until we finally got a call after several attempts to reach us by phone, text and internet, we were told. Fortunately, it was a wind related problem that caused the alarm, so all was well, but it could have ended in disaster. There were several times throughout the week when we either had intermittent or no phone service or internet. Not good and extremely nerve whacking. We heard others with the same complaint. But on the bright side there were several employees who made our stay rewarding. Kudos to Oscar, Kevin and Angeles in the lobby who are great ambassadors, as well as Tom, who conducted our Owners Meeting and was extremely professional and informative. It was by far the best Owners Meeting we’ve ever attended as it was truly informational and not sales centered. Well worth our time, hosted by a great presenter.
