Paradisus Beach Bar
Thank you, Jessica, Rosario, Ezekiel and Eric for a memorable afternoon on the beach. You made our experience a memorable one! The drinks were cold and we appreciate the hospitality :) Thank you for taking the time to teach us about Mexico and we look forward to seeing you the next time! Miss Maya & Eagle

Wonderful, relaxing time in paradise
We had a wonderful time at Paradisus Playa del Carmen on our recent vacation. The location is lovely being near the beach but within beautiful natural mangrove/forrested areas and carefully tended gardens. While the facilities could use a bit of refurbishing, the employees made up for it with their readiness to get you whatever you needed with a smile on their faces. We were lucky to have Nancy Rodriguez and Mirium Ortiz (concierge) help us with our previsit reservations and our onsite needs. Both did an excellent job of communicating our vegan preferences and handling any other issues that came up. We would certainly go back to visit again.

Some Great Moments, but Missed the Mark
The design and comfort of the resort and our room were above average. Overall, the accommodations felt comfortable. However, some areas showed visible signs of aging and could benefit from renovations. Unfortunately, management made several poor decisions regarding the location of a wedding party, restaurant reservation availability, and food and beverage safety for children. Dining Experience: While the resort description listed a well-rounded selection of food options, the reality fell short. Reservations during typical family dining hours were nearly impossible to secure. Several key cuisines—like the steakhouse and hibachi—were fully booked throughout our entire 5-day stay. This was a major disappointment, especially since my wife and I had planned only one evening as a date night and were hoping for a proper meal (steak, sushi—not just chicken fingers, fries, and hot dogs). That simply wasn’t an option. Additionally, most restaurants did not offer lunch service, which would have been helpful for families with young children and could have reduced pressure on dinner bookings. Spa Services: The spa also had limited availability. We managed to squeeze in a 50-minute deep tissue massage, but only at the last appointment of the day. Afterward, my wife wasn’t even allowed to take a quick shower before dinner—completely unreasonable, especially after being oiled up from the massage. Thankfully, the attendant in the men’s room was more accommodating. Food & Beverage Safety for Children: One serious incident occurred when our 7-year-old niece was accidentally served a frozen alcoholic daiquiri. She had already consumed half the drink before we noticed something was off—her behavior changed and her face turned flushed. There absolutely needs to be a more obvious system in place: non-alcoholic beverages should come in clearly distinguishable cups to prevent mix-ups by staff and to help parents identify drinks at a glance. It is the resort's responsibility to ensure the safety of guests, especially children. Noise and Inappropriate Events: On our first evening at the family concierge section of the resort, a wedding banquet was set up in the middle of the pool area. Loud music—complete with profanity—blasted until 11 p.m. Are you serious? Our kids are 3 and 7 years old, and their bedtime is typically around 8:30 p.m., as is the case for many other families. This was not only inconsiderate but entirely inappropriate for a family-oriented setting. Overall, while the resort was generally family-friendly, the experience was marred by poor planning, inadequate service availability, and questionable management decisions that fell short of the family-friendly promise. ** Please have the concierge reach out to guests at least one week prior to arrival to allow for proper planning, ensuring all visitors—not just those 'in the know'—can fully enjoy the resort’s offerings.

All-boring, not all-inclusive
Paradisus is a really low qiality hotel. We spent a week in Grand Moon Palace, wanted to stay for a few more nights, and didnt expect how bad another all-inclusive could be. The buffet options are very limited, to put it mildly. There is no app to check restaurant availability, you have to go find someone to book. Ans all is booked of course. The restaurant options available to not only adults are -well there are just four of them. None looks intersting. The worst is food though. The app to order food service works on and off. The space seems open to the outside - wild animals walking in droves. There are few pools, very boring. The room was clean, the only positive. But dont stay here, there are certaninly more interesting options.

Spring break stay 2025
Resort has lots to do for kids. Our 7 year old didn’t participate in any of the day camps. The food was pretty good with lots of options. If there was something you wanted and couldn’t see you could often request it. We did the family concierge package. We couldn’t get reservations for the first two nights but after that we got the times we requested but not at all the restaurants we wanted. The drinks are pretty sweet. We were hoping for classic margaritas but it was hard to find a good one. Everything tasted like there was artificial sweetener in it. For kids the strawberry slushy was so high in sugar and stained our son’s face. Wish there was a healthier option considering we are surrounded by fresh fruit. We ate at the lunch box for breakfast which was a lovely setting and nice change from the buffet. Our concierge Adrian was very friendly and helped us with our requests as they came up. The staff onsite are all very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our interactions with everyone. The beach was disappointing. In the reviews we read we didn’t realize there was such an issue with Sargassum. The water is very cloudy at the shore line. If you are a confident swimmer and the conditions are good you can go further out. I would recommend walking down the beach to the left. There is a lagoon that runs into the sea and if you walk around the point you find small pools of clear blue water to sit in. I would highly recommend the sailing and kayaking which is included through the hotel. We would consider returning to this spot. Our only really big issue was the beach and this would be why we try another location and hotel.
