    To many rules.

    They are only worried about their bottom line. The customers who paid a good chunk to come here are not a priority. Profits over people. Pay extra for good tequila/rum/vodka. First Mexican resort to do that. Reservation dinner system sucks. Want to go to their main show pay money. Pools are great. Beach solid. Staff majority of time care. Biggest thing to me was nickel and dime you for everything. One and done for me.

    Excellent experience

    We upgraded to a swim up room and we were put in a beautifully renovated room. The room was clean and beautiful. The fridge was always full of whatever we requested (needed extra milk for the baby). The grounds are immaculately cared for. There is wildlife everywhere and it’s great! Always something to see. The staff were amazing. The service was fantastic at every bar and restaurant. Food was great! I was unsure about going to such a big resort but it was fun being able to take the trolly elsewhere. Parents, take the trolly to the Tulum. It has a brand new water park, splash pad, baby pool, etc. The beach leaves a bit to be desired but there is a spot behind the main pool with breakers, which made for very calm waters which was great for the little ones. The quiet pool by the seafood restaurant was my favourite. The adults only pool was beautiful. The main pool is beautiful but loud. I would love to come back!

    Excellent holiday in Cancun

    A very nice Hotel, a few minor repairs around the hotel are needed, however I believe work was ongoing, staff are very friendly, and go the extra mile to please (we tipped well for good Service), very clean and grounds kept immaculate, house was excellent and mini bar was always topped up on a daily basis. Shuttle buses were available every 10-15 mins to the lobby or other pools within the Bahia Principe complex, but overall enjoyed the holiday and experience.

    Birthday break

    Our family has a two week stay at Bahia Principe Akumal in January 2025 to celebrate a significant birthday. As others have said be prepared to have a long wait for luggage retrieval at Cancun airport, especially if you flight lands at a similar time to other flights. This combined with a flight delay meant a set of very tired travellers arriving at reception. Reception were very helpful is meeting our needs in respect of the location of our rooms, as well as providing a welcome drink. Our room locations were important as one of our party is disabled. Well worth booking the a la carte restaurants, not just at the Akumal , but also at Sian Kian , Coba and Tulum. Enjoyed the Mikado, Gourmet Ku’uk, Portofino and Katok restaurants. The staff were always there with a smile and willing to help in any way possible. Special thanks to Edgar who made me a mouse from a bottle cork at breakfast on my birthday , which made an excellent start of my special and memorable day , and to him for always remembering my need for numerous cups of tea without me needing to make a request. Thanks also go to Alejandra, Eric and Daniel. It was also nice to be in a resort where you are so close to nature, with woodpeckers on the palm trees outside our room, sunbathing iguanas , and coati and racoons . An enjoyable relaxing holiday.

    Digest the bad reviews they are TRUE!!!

    Bad reviews if they sent alarm bells off for you, listen, then listen to your gut .... Do not spend your hard earnt money on this holiday... superior junior no better than a 3 star self-catering apartment in Spain 20 years ago!!! Food only ever warm to cold even if ordered fresh at truck stop or snack bar ( first in que had to wait 15 mins for food and it was still cold ) No mattresses for sun beds !!! You can t go in the sea its so rocky and uneven to go in there, as inviting as it was . Do not choose this hotel , you will regret it. Several complaints made while there and once home !!! DO NOT GO HERE ,I ve been to other places (tunisia, morroco) 2/3 the flight time , tourists not ripped off ( £80 for a 15 mins taxi fare )food amazing , for half the cost . The only positive I can g
