Great value with 2nd to none variety
This was our 12th visit over 20 years to the Bahia complex that includes Coba, Tulum, Kaan and Akumal. It is such a good value for friends and family that we keep coming back. As you might expect over 20 years some things have become a little tired. The management team is working to update and renovate as we speak. Some massive projects are underway around the property, What has never changed over time is the wonderful staff- the smiles and courtesy is second to none! As many people have said make sure to make your dinner reservations before you arrive and look at the eateries again as many have changed We enjoyed to new ocean front steakhouse Katok both for breakfast lunch and dinner. Portofino was even better than we remember and the bone in Steak at don Pablo was great! Though many eateries say long pants are required - I saw no enforcement of this rule We really enjoyed the silent disco over at the kaan resort and it looked like many also enjoyed the magic show Snorkeling was difficult with high winds and an over abundance of seaweed - if you want endless beautiful beaches- this is not your place- but they try hard to keep up with the weed as it comes in- I do believe some new equipment could really help with the weed as some of the other resorts have shown. The pools were very good with your type of pool to be found with a little looking whether it be high energy or quiet reading We were oceanfront with our room and the views were fantastic - a/c was great and the staff kept all pristine All in all excellent Our thanks to the Bahia team for a great time

Service was very good. People were very friendly cleanliness and room service were good the visual aspects and the notif
I was at this resort eight years ago and it was amazing!! A true luxury hotel for the time!! On this trip, it was absolutely nothing about. It was a luxury hotel!!! There is major construction going on because of change of hands in the ownership Trash everywhere. Everything is run down the pools. The streets attention to detail is very poor a sister resort “Coba “had major fire renovations going on and five restaurants were lost out of the 13 that you could not go to unfortunately, all trip advisory people like Apple Vacations are not updated on the appearance of the hotels or what is going on at these hotels. The description on the brochures are completely different than what you walk into. I would not choose this hotel for the amount of money that I paid. It is not a luxury hotel at this time! When all construction and renovation is done and maybe a year This will be an amazing place again, but unfortunately nobody will be able to afford it unless you are very, very wealthy

It’s under major construction!!!
Do not go here! This hotel is under major construction. It isn’t luxury at all. They put our family in old rooms. The construction starts at 8:30 am and is next too every building. This isn’t a vacation spot right now. The beds had bugs. The linens are like sand paper including the beach towels. The beach towels are old and really ruff. One of the sister resorts had a fire and they only have half the restaurants available and could barely accommodate our family of 5. The whole place is getting remolded. The snack shake is a joke. They offer 4 items if it’s late evening. I would save your money and look elsewhere until the construction is done.

Nice place, excellent service but some caveats
Excellent place but very few common areas are air conditioned (e.g. Rooms, gym, shops). Most of the time, restaurants and theatre were also not running air condition when it was summer hot. Lobby area is very open so it was airy but no air condition there either. One more thing, the restaurants were all booked out (though we saw most of the tables empty) but looks like they are short on staff and pushing all the traffic to buffet. We had great company (family friends) so we had a good time. Pools are nice!
