Beautiful resort, wonderful experience
Amazing food, friendly staff, and many activities to enjoy during our stay. The beach has clear, teal blue water, and there are multiple large pools. Very picturesque. We attended for a wedding, which was set on the beach. We had lovely service from the day we got there until we left. So grateful for all of the staff at Dreams Dominicus who helped us have a fabulous experience!

Exactly what I needed!
Our 7-day stay at Dreams was phenomenal! The resort has a beautiful beach and 3 pools (with bars) to choose from. The positives: -Without exception, staff were friendly and helpful -beautiful sandy beach and clear water (get there between 7:30-9a to get lounge chairs) - We were preferred and the preferred beach, bar and restaurant were very convenient. Erick our butler was also very helpful Food: - first if you read other reviews you will hear some negatives. I found Dominican Rep. local food to be somewhat bland but that is not a negative against any of the restaurants. Just something to be aware of. -the French restaurant we had a beef filet and lamb chops. They were cooked exactly as requested and our waiter was very attentive - the Italian restaurant was also a good experience with attentive staff and I would say average in taste (not the best Italian we’ve ever had but definitely not the worst - Japanese we did the hibachi table. The food was great and the chef very entertaining - we did a specialty lobster dinner on the beach. So romantic, the lobster was yummy and presentation on the plate, very creative! Our room - very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice size patio with a great view. Chamber maids always stocked our fridge and provided clean linens Entertainment - creative! We really enjoyed the Fire and Water show and magician Grounds and resort In general, this resort is smaller than some which we really liked. Grounds were clean and well kept! Overall this stay was just what I was looking for; a relaxing beach vacation! Thank you Dreams!

3 Star Hotel
Just returned from Dreams Dominicus La Romana for a wedding. Our experience overall a 5/10. We arrived at 2pm and were impressed by the professional front desk staff who were very kind. We were told to wait for our room for about an hour. We didn't mind because we knew family at the resort so we could leave some items with them and still enjoy the resort before checking in. We visited the world buffet to eat a much needed lunch. They had a HUGE selection of food. But it all looked stale and reheated. We opted for the vegetables and rice and it was as expected. There was no self serve drink areas so we had to track down a waiter to get a drink, not knowing what they were offering. We went to check if our room was ready after an hour and still no luck. We watched others who came in after us get their rooms before us. Finally after another 30 minutes our room was ready and we were escorted to it. The room was extremely spacious and looked clean. We did notice there was black mold in the bathroom behind lights along with pieces of plastic backing up the shower drain. Our first day was enjoyable. There was live entertainment that was impressive and our bartender experience was good. It does takes a LONG time to get drinks. Even when you're sitting right in front of a bartender you have to wave them down. Throughout our trip our group of around 40 people started getting very ill one by one. Vomiting every 15 minutes, diarrhea, not being able to consume anything, in bed for a full day sometimes 2 days. More than half of our whole group got this sickness and we still don't know what the cause was. Many thought it was the ice in the drinks, nacho cheese sitting in the sun, or even the meat. Whatever it was, it was extremely upsetting to miss out on some of your vacation sitting in the hotel room being ill. We had many dinners out at the specialty restaurants which were okay. The food was not sticking out as being great. The best dinner we had was at hibachi which also put on a fantastic, entertaining show. The beach was beautiful and my personal favorite part. The water is so blue and refreshing. It was also hard to come across waiters to get drinks but if you were tipping well they were coming promptly. Some of the beach staff spoke little english so often we'd get double orders from two of them without realizing. Not a bad problem to have though. :) The wedding was beautiful. The wedding coordinators were very accommodating. They quickly relocated the reception to the french restaurant when we found out there was rain in the forecast instead of having it on the beach. The waiters came often with new hor d'oeuvres every time. Bartender at the wedding was the best! Wedding food was similar to buffet food. Way too much food for 40 of us to consume. I would say we touched only about 20% of it. This seemed like a recurring theme with all the food as well. So much waste! Overall, Dreams Dominicus really felt like a 3 star resort. There was good aspects but also some bad. I think it was fun to experience once but I don't think I will be returning or recommending to friends/family. If they can figure out what is making their guests sick, I think my view would be more positive. To the wonderful staff that really cared about us and our experience during our stay, thank you so much!

Great experience, relaxing environment in some areas and fun and energetic in other sections
The room was very spacious and the hotel was very clean. The entertainment is fun, and there are several activities. Bryan, el baby, was great, he had great energy and positive attitude all the time. I joined him at Volleyball and some of the beach games. I highly recommend it
