  nice place

  Overall very nice, however it does lack handicap access to a lot of the stuff. No elevators in room is an issue. Lack of dinning areas for larger groups is also an issue.

  Returning guest. Report losing its shine

  Love this resort and 5th time here but shine has worn off some. Had dinner reservations every night but 2 meals had over 30 minute wait to be seated and meals took over 2 hours. People’s food came out at all different times and food average. This time here resort showing its age. No water pressure one day and lots of things needing update

  Mediocre resort at best

  The resort itself is neat and clean with a nice location. The room was clean but a times had a sewerage smell where we had to open the doors to air out. Beds were outdated and horrible. Garden view was a shipping container right outside our patio along with the entrance for the employees coming in and out of the resort. They ran out of beer, vodka and gin 3 days in a role despite which bar you went to. Restaurant staff were extremely helpful and kind. Buffet served the exact same thing everyday we were there with food being mediocre at best. There were some things to do at night. We have stayed a multiple resorts in Jamaica and this is definitely not a 5 star resort at best a 3 star resort.

  Warning about problems at Grand Palladium Jamaica

  Three weeks ago my wife and I, my son’s family, and some dear friends spent a week vacationing at the Grand Palladium Jamaica. The assigned room was spacious and comfortable, the pool complex spectacular, and the small beach inviting. The food at the main buffet restaurants was acceptable. The food at the specialty restaurants was generally unappealing. At several of the restaurants we waited exceptionally long times to be served, and at two only self-served salad and ordered appetizer had been consumed after 90 minutes. The well-meaning staff was very apologetic. If these issues aren’t enough to sour one on this property, I must stress that management failures should make one reconsider staying at this resort. The first example of management incompetence was evident on the first day. My son’s family was assigned to a room on the ground floor of one of the villas. Apparently crickets made enough noise to interfere with sleep. When my son requested a different room, a seemingly innocuous request, there was so much static and reluctance to change the room that an international incident was in the offing. However, I will let my son describe details of the interaction in his review. But I must relay details of another unfortunate interaction with senior staff which again indicates their lack of understanding. My wife made a reservation for a massage at the spa for 4 PM on the last full day that we would be at the resort. During the last few days of our holiday, we became ill with upper respiratory infections which grounded us. My wife held out hope that she would be sufficiently recovered by the time of the spa appointment to permit her to take advantage of it. However, on the morning of the day of the appointment it was apparent that she would not be able to muster enough strength to go for the massage. And, of course, she did not want to pass the virus to a masseuse. So she attempted to call the spa early in the morning to cancel the reservation. The resort website and the signed contract clearly state the terms related to any cancellation. Penalty-free cancellation was available if the cancellation was made more than 4 hours before the reservation. A cancellation within the 4-hour window would entail a financial penalty. Despite problems getting in touch with the spa, the telephone call eventually was answered. She was told that the appointment could not be cancelled over the phone, and that she would have to present herself at the s

  Disappointment on high expectations

  We were a party of eight comprising 5 vegetarians and 3 Non vegetarians adults staying at the resort for eight nights. The choice and variety of food was poor and monotonous. All restaurants ran out of tea bags most of times. At times even toasting bread also ran out. Running out of plates and cutlery was also common on most days. Some restaurant staff performed extremely professional and majority were poorly trained and served half heartedly in the expectation of tipping. External roads and public walkways were hazardously uneven and of poor standard. There were no decent snacking facilities around pools and leisure areas, consequently there was always a rush around lunch and dinner times. These are not even exhaustive shortcomings.
