Hawaii becomes too speedy
Loved the beds and bedding and the room amenities, but getting someone to answer at the front desk was a problem - several times. And Hawaii has so many fees - besides the room charge. Not pleasant when the state charges an occupancy tax, Hawaii state tax, Oahu transient Accommodation Tax, carbon neutral footprint, resort amenity fee, resort, amenity fee - HI state tax, occupancy tax, etc, etc. When will the state learn that all these fees discourage people from spending money in Hawaii??? Next time I will go to Arizona or even Mexico.

Weeks Holiday in Honolulu
Was booked here to stay for our weeks holiday by out travel agent and was a nice choice The hotel was right on Waikiki beach and within walking distance of lots of shops and restaurants We were part of the longboard club which meant we had breakfast and afternoon drinks & snacks included which were always very nice Special mention to Micah & Bella who were always attentive and very friendly The rooms were nice and clean but fairly dated even though we were in a diamond room on the 26th floor We were in 2662 which FYI if your a light sleeper then the air con unit could be an issue The rooftop bar was nice but the pool was very cold although there was a hot tub next to it All in all was nice hotel but could do with updating soon

Disappointing Stay
We arrived early and found short lines with two friendly staff members at the desk. One staff member greeted us while looking down at their monitor. They immediately began working to find us a room. We were early but had no choice due to our flight. They mentioned a room on the 30th floor that was almost ready, or a room on the 3rd floor that was being cleaned or had an issue on the patio. We said we weren't in a rush and were willing to wait for the higher floor. We asked if we could leave our bags to explore the area, and they said they would text us once the room was ready, which they estimated would be a couple of hours. We returned to the hotel around 2-4 PM, but there was no message. The line was long, and it seemed like a group of military personnel were checking in. All the front desk agents were busy. When we finally reached the counter, a rude woman assisted us. We explained that we were waiting for our room and provided our information. She made rude comments about other guests checking in and assigned us a room on the 7th floor. When we mentioned the earlier promise of a 30th-floor room, she rudely stated that it would require an extra charge and that the morning staff should have written a note. She seemed exhausted and disengaged, even having a side conversation with staff members. We paid the resort fees and went to our room. At the bar, we were told that our room had a charge block. Frustrated, we returned to the front desk, where a kind staff member informed us that we hadn't paid the room deposit. We were embarrassed by this oversight. Throughout our 10-day stay, we had no trust in the hotel and opted out of daily room cleaning. The room itself was plagued by nightly noise from the patio above. The only positive aspects were the hotel's location, lobby, and the kindness of the housekeeping staff. However, the poor service from certain staff members significantly detracted from our overall experience.

Do you trust hotel concierge????
The hotel is nice but they do not have a CC real concierge. Do not use it! They charge large mark ups for standard tours you can get anywhere on line. For two tickets on Polynesia adventure they took a $130 which could have been bought on discount sites for $112 for $180. They have sign concierge but it is a tour operator with large mark ups. On top of that they said tour had lunch etc included….. not true! They stop for you to buy lunch but they stopped providing it a year ago. I don’t blame the tour company but the hotel needs a real concierge not one set up to rip you off.

Misleading and Underwhelming
This resort falls far short of the 4- or 5-star rating it claims to have. We booked through Costco, which listed the Alohilani as a “5-star resort” with a user rating of 4.2 at the time. Unfortunately, our experience aligned with every negative review we later read. Be sure to carefully filter and read all reviews before booking. Here’s our breakdown: Positive * Staff: The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, and their professionalism stands out. * Valet & Check-In: The valet and check-in experience create the illusion of a luxury resort—unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Negatives Hallways & Elevators: * Carpets and baseboards are visibly dirty and appear to have never been cleaned * Popcorn ceilings are outdated and unbefitting of a supposed 4/5-star property * Musty, dusty odors permeate the hallways—terrible for anyone with allergies Rooms * Smell: The mildew and mold odor hits immediately upon entering and doesn’t dissipate, even with AC or fresh air. * Cleanliness * Carpets in the room are just as dirty as the hallways. Bring slippers. * Shower and sink looked rinsed but not thoroughly cleaned or sanitized. * Baseboards are dirty. * Bathroom: The sink area is tiny—barely enough for one person * Pillows: You’re left with two poor options: rock-hard flat pillows or lumpy soft ones. Mixed Experiences * Water Temperature: The shower and sink water get dangerously hot—be careful. * View: A “partial ocean view” was as described, but noise from Waikīkī detracted from the experience. * Clean Towels: At least the towels were clean.Overall, the friendly staff and valet team cannot compensate for the poor room quality and lack of cleanliness. This resort is not worth its advertised rating. * Comfortable Bed * Pool: appeared clean, towels readily available. The crowd this place attracts though is definitely mixed.
