The hotel is beautiful and the food amazing. There is so much for families to do at the resort. I had great service from both my butlers, Eliu and Brenda. Special thanks to Valeria for my morning Latte in the diamond club!

First trip in Mexico, will be coming back
While the start of our trip was a little rocky, it ended up being a wonderful experience. I recommend getting the diamond club upgrade because you get access to certain areas on the beach and access to more pools, bars, and restaurants. The surroundings are beautiful, waking and seeing the ocean is amazing. The rooms are super pretty, and the fridges are stocked daily. overall theyre nicely cleaned, yet sometimes you may have some little hiccups. Also, it smells, but it's because of the mangrove, so it's understandable. I'd say the price is understandable, as you dont have to pay for food, drinks, ice cream, etc. Sometimes it can get a little noisy; then again, it's a big resort with multiple different families and children, so I understand, and it generally wasn't that bad. The service was amazing. The staff at the mix were always so kind, they always made the best drinks! Maria T was the person who cleaned our room, and she went above and beyond, setting up the kids' bedroom in fun ways every day. It always made them smile. The staff at Scoops was super friendly and very funny, and so were the staff at all the restaurants. Our butlers also went above and beyond for our every need. Liz set up birthday decorations, and Gonzolo made sure everything was always perfect for us. The location comes with a bonus, resort kitties!!

This hotel has a serious problem with food handling and safety! When reported no feedback received. There was 40 in our wedding group and 32 people were sick from the food. Another wedding group there indicated they had 89 people and over 1/2 also got sick. We heard other comments from people who also got sick. We saw food sitting such as salads, sea food and others outside and sometimes in direct sun for more than 1 1/2 hrs. The resort is huge and a favorite for kids with all the water features. Their serving staff especially in restaurants were very good. Their front desk staff were unfriendly, abrupt, and unhelpful. Every issue staff wanted to pass it off to someone else rather than deal with it. I do not recommend this hotel!!

Sadly Disappointed
An honest review, I've been to Mexico 10 times before and have been to about 5 resorts. I usually stay at the Barcelo. The royalton Splash was at a higher budget and we decided to book to be very disappointed. There is a crazy sickness going around at this resort (I've never experienced this at others) The food handling is not proper and I think a lot of people get sick from that. My son ate at score with us and was vomiting two hours later. I got the (bug) that goes around the day after returning home. There is one main buffet for all the hotel guests and there is 0 hand sanitizer throughout the whole resort I never saw any.. And I'm someone who doesn't even enjoy using it but when there's thousands of people using the same food tongs.. it would be nice to have in the restaurants. There is no towel allotment so people were grabbing 10 at a time at &am and grabbing chairs. At 8am there were no chairs. The line ups for things take long pizza(although the guy working there is so quick and works so hard!) The coffee took 25+ minutes during the busy hours. usually line ups for scoops the ice cream too. I think that this hotel has to many people for the amenities on the resort. The slides were fun and the breach was good and the pools at the diamond club were very nice. The best thing about this resort were the rooms very nicely done! For a luxury 5 star resort I can say I was disappointed and would not return. I hope that they can figure out the illness problem and people say its flu season the heat and drinking, blah blah. But I go the same time every year and do buffets I don't drink alcohol and I've never gotten sick. So I do hope that they do something to resolve the problem!

Huge Resort with lots of Amenities
Royalton Splash is a family oriented resort however great for couples too. Staff were friendly and courteous. Gaspar, Manuela, Dienelson were outstanding in their service at the buffet area. Though I would recommend the buffet food to be better quaiity and be kept hot, but overall it was good. The only drawdown is that if you are one of the ones picked out among the crowd, you will be asked to attend a 90 min. Tour for marketing sales. I do appreciate Hector who was so kind but we couldn't attend. We took advantage of a spa deal which was amazing. Beautiful premises. We also took advantage of the gym use, but they close at 8 pm. Overall, the resort and beach are beautiful. This resort does get crowded so you need to choose your beach and pool chairs early.
