Been here a bunch of times, the last time Dec. 2-16th,, and as always an awesome time. Even though we could've ate at any a la carte restaurants, we just ate at the buffets, which we thought were great, especially since my wife only ate vegetarian( and a onion / garlic allergy), she never had any issues finding something to eat, and having the pasta station cook helping her by cooking her salad really really helped, and made her very happy... Behique buffet was our favourite, but the Palace buffet was good too. We went through the Travel Club, as per usual, which we find awesome ( Yugeiry is always so very helpful ), we found the Behique buffet staff to awesome ( breaky/lunch/ dinner) never had any issues, always so nice and helpful, last year we mostly stayed at the Bavaro side, and ate at their buffet, which was also amazing ( closed this time). Over the years we've mostly been to Holguin Cuba, so I can't understand how anyone could complain about the food here, found it awesome... put on 13lbs, after 12 days could barely eat anymore..lol Can't wait to come back in December

Jan 19, 2026No NOT a 5 star and not worth the added cost
The resort was very large, had to watch out for greyhound buses n large tourist buses on the road you walked on. Pools very warm. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and asked fora possible no cost upgrade as resort not full this time of year. They said they only would for an additional cost which we declined and then they actually put us in a room with a view of staff parking lot n busses. Not impressed. Beach beautiful and food was fine. Typical repetitiveness more than other resorts. Been to Punta cana 6 times and would go back to any of the other 4 star resorts before this one

Great stay
We came for 10 nights, really friendly staff, nice room 4202. Great shower. Restaurants nice on al carte Buffet hit and miss with cold food. Spa good would more than happily return ! Roselyn excellent

Food - slightly better than most similar resorts we've visited. El Dorado was very good. First time nobody in our group got sick after eating something. Beach - nice sand and water. Happened to have weeds when we were there, but not horrible. Beach area is small and crowded. Pools - chairs always full. Pools are clean. Kids in swim-up bar area which seemed inappropriate. Rooms / common spaces - other than the lobby most areas looked outdated and in need of paint. Beds were comfortable. Deluxe Pool View had no view of any pool. Bars mixed decent drinks, although pool bar near the beach were mixing extra strong drinks and serving them before being asked, which is never good (didn't see them get made).
