People factory, at a slightly higher level…
Spring break – escape from the cold NY City winter – for a few days of sun and sand, and respite from the stressful routine of work-work-work that NY imposes on you. The stay was almost free as we had accepted a deal that included a sales presentation... so there was a catch ~ mais certainement ! According to locals, Waikiki has become Hilton City. Everywhere one looks, there is another Hilton: Hilton Garden Inn, Grand Vacations Club, Double Tree, Embassy Suites, etc. etc. The Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa, as it turned out, was not really on the beachfront. When making our reservation we had requested a beachfront location, but apparently, the program we were offered did not include the prime properties, so we had to settle for one eclipsed by a bunch of other operators ~ like flies around a ****pile, which are mostly taller than this older property, and each absolutely full to the brim with travelers from around the globe ~ Welcome to Hawaii !! This pile is located across from a shopping mall, about three blocks back from the beach, and is surrounded by some excellent, and also not so excellent, eateries and shopping locations. We were happy to find a great breakfast and coffee place nearby, and also a very popular udon restaurant - Marugame udon - that always had huge lines of people waiting to get in. We had requested a higher floor with a water view, but as the building is not the tallest in the area, the water is now best glimpsed at sunset, between the intervening towers across the mall roof ~ so much for “development” ! The lobby is large and has a convenience / general store attached, which makes it very convenient for essentials, drinks and general necessities that one may forgotten in the general enthusiasm to get off on the trip. The rooms are spacious mini-suites: there is a bed room area, a living room with a sleeper sofa and accessory space with the vanity and dressing area at the entrance, and a spacious bathroom. The rooms are well appointed with all the essential amenities. The initial impression is one of clean efficiency. A narrow balcony runs across the end of both spaces, framing stunning views of the water in the distance and the amazing sky, with enough space for a small table and two chairs facing the view ~ quite nice to have for an evening aperitif and cooling off in the endless Pacific breeze, while taking in the sunset. The lobby offers fax and other business services for the travelling salesman to feel at home or relax sans guilt while pretending to be meeting the States-side office’s deadlines. Overall, a very pleasant stay. For the location and season, the price was also very affordable – no regrets there, but given a choice would have preferred to stay at another pile closer to where they float.

Back in Hawaii after 8 years , ready to come back again!
The service at MAC 24 was great, and the food was excellent — especially the strawberry pancakes and the coffee ☕️🥞 Overall, the service throughout the hotel was wonderful — from the front desk to the pool and bar. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and happy to give directions or tips on where to find nearby stores and places to go. The beach is very close, easy to find, clean, and convenient. The bed was cozy and comfortable, and it was nice not having long waits at the elevator. Even on New Year’s Eve, the hotel was easy to sleep in. I actually enjoyed the music — the DJ was playing great jams that reminded me of when I was younger 😄 Would definitely stay again.

Excellent staff and a great view!
We stayed one night at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa after a long overseas flight. After an early morning arrival, staff were able to organise an early check-in, which we really appreciated. We were upgraded to a king room on a higher floor with mountain views and it was spectacular! Even though the island was a bit dry, the view was fantastic. We had a nice size balcony, which we enjoyed. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. The location is great and within walking distance of the beach, restaurants and shops. All staff we spoke with were helpful and friendly. Everyone genuinely seemed to want to be there and that says a lot. While we waited for our room to become available, we were offered use of the pool area / showers. After a long flight, this was well received! The one let-down was the buffet breakfast. It was not good and definitely not up to the Hilton standard. Cold eggs, nothing refreshed / topped up, etc. and this was early in the morning. Our table was dirty - we moved the condiments to make a bit of space and underneath hadn't been wiped in who knows how long. Breakfast was included with our rate and we wouldn't have paid for it separately as it was that sad. As Hilton Honors members, we were contacted for feedback and did share our thoughts regarding our stay. We were told that they would look into our concerns regarding the breakfast buffet. Overall, a good stay. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again but would probably have breakfast elsewhere.

A mixed bag of emotions on this stay
I have a love/hate relationship with this property. I stayed here for 3 nights arriving on 12/15/2025. This is my second visit to this property. What keeps me coming back is the beautiful view from the balcony of the room. Everything else, I don't know. Check-in on 12/15/2025 was a nightmare. I know that early check-in is not encouraged; however, the front desk needs to be trained to better handle certain situations. I arrived at 1:15PM. I politely asked at the front desk if a room may be available. As a matter of fact, the room that I was assigned to was available; however, the front desk agent said "No, it is two hours too early -- management doesn't allow us to do that". I went up and sat at the pool for two hours. I returned at 2:45PM and waited 25 minutes to check-in with only 1 person in front of me. There was one person pulling from the priority line, one from the general line and one from both lines. The priority person kept disappearing into the back office after playing around with tickets in a binder. She did this for 15 minutes, while I was waiting in the priority line and meanwhile the general person kept taking people from the general line. The 9 people behind me were served before me. So, now that I waited 25 minutes -- I got my keys, only to be given the wrong keys. Thankfully, someone from the front desk ran up after I called to complain from the text message on the app. This hotel is old, no doubt about it. They keep trying to put "lipstick on a pig". It is and isn't working. Both. The bed was fabulous, comfortable and cozy. The other furniture is my room has seen better days and is falling apart in many areas. The air conditioning vent leaks, a lot -- even though I kept the balcony door closed at all times. The toilet keeps running. During my stay, I made a maintenance request and someone came up only to tell me they couldn't do anything about it. But, that view. That ocean side view from the 33rd floor is beautiful. I wish they could do a full update of the hotel. It has the potential to be gorgeous. I also hope that they buy the parking lot along Kuhio in front of it. I would hate for someone to swoop in and buy that parking lot, only to build a massive high rise blocking all of the views. Please, please-- why does your front desk act the way they do?

Happy with our Choice
We had a fabulous time. Great location in walking distance to so much. The oceanview room was stunning and clean. Special shout outs to Isabel in Housekeeping for giving us a clean space to return to every day and bartenders Addy and Massimo for their friendly conversation.
