Fabulous place, we will be back!
The employees were all very kind and helpful! We loved the more laid back atmosphere. The Luau was great and we also enjoyed the singing at night at “The Branches” Breakfast buffet was great and we had a couple lunches that were also really good at Lahaina Noon. We will be back!

Great stay
Bed was very comfortable. Great view of the ocean. We could see the whales from our windows. We stayed in the Bungalows. Food and drinks are very pricey . Trolley was great way to travel . We will definitely recommend this place and be back ourselves

Great stay in paradise!
From the moment we arrived the staff was extraordinary. We booked through Costco that included a very nice breakfast buffet and a $50 credit to use at the resort and we couldn't have been happier. Lahaina Noon is the restaurant that we dined at 2-3 times a day and met Rosie the hostess that greeted us warmly every day, Mariz and Cara who recognized us every day after serving us just once, treating us like family, and Ford... meeting him was a one of the highlights of our trip. He treated us like we were VIP from the moment we met and showed us what ALOHA means. Happy hour had lots of great offerings and OMG the Mud Pie there is the best! Ford said the pastry chef there makes everything fresh every morning and believe me, you can taste it! One thing to consider is housekeeping is every other day, which worked out well for us and I think would for virtually any guest (maybe unless they’re super high maintenance). We called once for some extra soap and shampoo, and they brought it right up immediately. I heard that since the pandemic happened, the hotel hasn't had anyone apply for housekeeping. These workers are working a lot of overtime so please be kind to them. Magie was our housekeeper and had nothing but kind words and big smiles for the guests. I came back to our room to find her about to make our bed and when I said I'd help she scolded me in a friendly way that no I was on vacation, but I still helped her anyway. She and all of the housekeepers were very kind, friendly, and did their jobs well. They work very hard, and it shows. Also, they have great live music at both the pool and also outside under a giant Hawaiian tree. The guitarist by the pool (the main pool, as they have two pools) has a custom PRS Santana guitar that sounds great, and you can tell he’s influenced by Santana as his style is similar and very enjoyable. The musicians we saw at Branches played some fun and relaxing Hawaiian style music on acoustic and electric guitar with vocals. We really enjoyed this as it’s a great way to relax and unwind after being out in the sun, exploring, and swimming all day. The hotel is also right on the beach and is prime location for swimming in the ocean anywhere up and down the beach for miles and also for just lying on the beach to soak up some sun and enjoy the sound ocean waves. We also were able to see whales breaching every day except the one rainy day we stayed in. We definitely would recommend this hotel for the great location right on the beach and walking distance to great restaurants and shops, the morning buffet and great food and desserts, the hospitality and warmth given by all of the staff. It’s really the staff that makes the difference in you feeling truly welcome on any vacation, and they delivered this the Aloha way.

Wouldn't recommend
Very disappointing- Food was subpar at best staff was not very friendly- When we booked we were given a 50.00 a day credit to use at resort- When we checked in we were told that it could go toward the 35.00 a day parking fee that we weren't advised of when we booked-I specifically asked this twice and was told yes. Upon checking out we were told that the 50.00 a day credit cannot go toward parking- The lady basically called me a liar and told me that I was never told that. So not only did I have to pay almost 300.00 in parking I didn't get to use the 50.00 credit. Very disappointing. There are several other nice resorts right on the beach as well that are better then Royal Lahaina and trust me we will be staying there next time. Also, the elevators broke several times during our stay and people got stuck in them so good luck with that.

Great access to the beach and friendly staff
Excellent location—easily walkable to Whalers Village if you prefer not to drive. The breakfast package was reasonably priced; nothing spectacular, but perfectly fine. The rooms are a bit dated, but the beds are comfortable, great pillows, and the showers have fantastic water pressure. Spectacular views of the water, we saw whales every morning during breakfast breaching the water. Great water activities, we went kayaking and had a wonderful time and got to see whales up close. The highlight of our stay was the staff—truly wonderful, friendly, and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!
