Personalized and attentive vacation with family

Our family spent thanksgiving break at the Westin playa bonita and it was such an amazing experience! Prior to locking down our stay, I emailed the front desk manager, Armando Martinez to find out more of what the Westin PB can offer my family. He replied within a few hours with a list of endless activities! We were sold! Luckily, when we arrived, Mr. Martinez checked us in, complete with refreshing welcome drinks! As a platinum member, we were upgraded to a renewal suite with club lounge access which was really nice and spacious. The sound proofing in the rooms is great since we couldn't hear anyone else but the distance sounds of the ocean waves! One of the highlights of this hotel is the service at the club lounge and all employees. Everyone I came across was always so polite and helpful. From the pool towel attendant to the lobby cafe, everyone is just so nice! Big thanks to Marilyn and the club lounge for remembering to save me some special treats for my two kids since the lounge doesn't let minors in during the evening. Some might find it inconvenient but it's actually a very good idea since it doesn't disrupt the ambience of the lounge (they serve a lot of liquor and wine). Marilyn always greets us with a smile and a surprise drink/sweets. She remembers our favorites and makes sure we get a well balanced meal during each visit! She's such a sweetheart!

    Beautiful All Inclusive Resort

Review of Westin Resorts Westin Resorts exceeded all expectations! The hotel and rooms were impeccably clean, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure a flawless stay. With a variety of restaurants offering delicious cuisine, every meal was a delight. The four beautiful pools catered to every mood, and the location was perfect for watching ships line up to enter the Panama Canal—a truly unforgettable sight. Highly recommend for a relaxing and luxurious getaway!

    Wonderful staff!

Renilio at the coffee shop is the best! Tell him Zach says hello! My wife liked the chicken sandwiches and the quesadillas from roon service are good too. The swing down by the water is great, just watch out for bugs around 6pm as they bite. Also, the sushi at Asiana is good but not as good as Nacion Sushi from Pacifico

    Booking issue

The hotel is very nice but the front desk could do with some better people skills. The Westin is about twice as expensive as most hotels in the area but it does have a lot of amenities. I went there without a reservation because, as a retiree, I am entitled to an retiree discount. The rooms were priced over 200/night(on a weeknight), which seemed a lot more expensive than the online price so I got online and booked a room. The booking agency sent me an email with the confirmation. When I went to the front desk, however, they told me that there was no reservation with the number the booking agency sent me. I waited for about a half hour for the reservation to come through. I showed the receptionist the confirmation email as proof but she told me that it could be fraudulent and if I wanted a room I could book it with my credit card. This caused me a concern because it seemed like I would be paying double for the 2 night stay. Also, if online booking is so susceptible to fraud shouldn't Marriot be on the lookout to prevent it? Most of the reservations for this hotel are booked online I imagine. Also, I am 73 years old and have a bad leg so it is a bit difficult for me to stand for extend periods of time. I called up the booking agent and their customer support resent the reservation number to Marriot. During that time the manager had received the booking number but I was on the phone with customer support. When I finally got through with the customer service, the clerk told me that the manager had been trying to talk to me to say everything was OK. She seemed to be scolding me for not hanging up on the customer support people and speaking to the manager. Anyway the experience left a negative impression for the rest of the night. This is what I would expect from a 5 star hotel Never tell a client that an online reservation that has been paid in full might be fraudulent. Even if that were the case, you should never say that. Instead say something to the effect, I am sure that the reservation will come through, sometimes there is delay to get to our office, then suggest to the client something like, "Why don't you take seat in the lobby and we will contact you when your reservation comes through". Never scold a client for trying to resolve an issue that lies with the hotel itself. There is an issue with Marriot's IT processing if takes over 30 minutes to confirm a booking by a third party vendor.

    Great experience

First time in Panama and first time at this hotel. Stayed at hotel for 2 1/2 weeks for business and it was enjoyable. One of the main reasons was the service from Marilyn and Jean Paul in the Westin club. After a long day of work, to see their always smiling faces and warm greetings made you feel at home. Plus the little personalized extras they would do for you.
