It’s NOT OPEN! The reviews must be a mistake!

This property used to be the Ritz before the 2017 hurricanes. They still have a long way to go before it can reopen. I guess the Ritz decided that they could not refurbish it into the quality that they needed to so they, somebody, has rebranded it. It will be beautiful and I understand they’re working on a new pool that will have some water slides for kids. But the old dive shop is gone forever, I believe. The club side, is still a Ritz and is still amazing. The island suffered a lot and I would encourage tourists to return but expectations need to be a little different than before. The vegetation used to be a lush green and now it is more brown. We were told there is also a drought which may be contributing to the brown vegetation. The water is still as beautiful as ever and the people are fantastic. They have been through a lot! Airport was fine and we were told the cruise ships have returned. But the hotel side is definitely not open as of May 2019. Oh, and the Marriott Frenchmans hotel looks to be devastated. You can see through the building as of now. But the only way for the island to get back on its feet is for the tourists to be here. So come and enjoy the beautiful water and sand! (The Ritz club is as beautiful as ever and is open.) It’s getting there!

    WORST Customer Service Ever!

Booked the hotel months ago, only to be told approx 1 month out from our trip that they needed to cancel our reservation to continue repairs. Then why did you accept the reservation in the first place? Then, I get an email saying that my reservation was being transferred to Margaritaville...I waited and waited, followed up with multiple emails and phone calls. No response, except to say, just be patient. Now, about ONE WEEK out from our trip, they book me at the Westin on ST JOHN, a completely different island. If I wanted to stay on St. John, I would have booked my reservation there originally. The utter lack of communication is ridiculous. Who doesn't respond to an email or a phone call these days in customer service? I will never stay here because I couldn't imagine what they treat you like when they have your money.

    Great Hotel!

My family and I have been travelling the US Virgin Islands for a month. We have stayed at 4 different locations and this property is by far the best. Before we booked, I read reviews that were negative and booked a different hotel instead. We ended up checking out of that hotel and coming here because it was awful! We got here and everything is so clean and wonderful and I am upset by the negative reviews of this property. This is a nice hotel. The staff is great, food is great, room is clean, property is beautiful, pool is awesome and so many amenities. There are not a lot of choices in St thomas for hotels and this is definitely the best option if you want a clean and nice room! Don’t let the other reviews fool you. Yes, right now they are renovating from the hurricane and some amenities are closed but you don’t want to pick another hotel and have to check out like we did. Choose this hotel first!
