You have GOT to stay here!!

This is the best laid back, all-around fun spot you can visit! My daughter and I had the all inclusive deal - the food was amazing - but so were the drinks!!! Snorkeled every day, enjoyed the Sunday Funday trip and had the best evenings listening to nightly, live music and good times with fellow travelers. Thank you to all the staff for the best trip ever!

    Bolongo Bay Beach Resort Review

This is my third visit to BBBR, first time was in 2012 and second/third times in 2024 and 2025. We had an ocean front room and did the all inclusive this and last year. We stayed for 3 nights, which cost ~$2k. I will start with the positives: *The ocean front room is very convenient to get right out on the beach easily. *The all inclusive option makes food/drink very easy because there is nothing in the vicinity. *Most of the staff is helpful and accommodating. *Lots of watersport options - snorkeling, kayaking, SUP, hobie cat, Heavenly Days charters, large floats in the water, right off the beach to lay on and enjoy the breeze and views. *Fun daily activities. *Live entertainment. *The food, for the most part, is good. *There are more chairs/umbrellas this year on the beach. The not as positives: *The beach is not nice. It's not well kept, it's got a lot of rocks in/on the sand as well as in the water, as well as seaweed. It's murky and does not give a great appearance. There are cigarette butts everywhere. *Service is hit or miss. Some of the employees are super friendly and helpful, while others are not. *We had an updated room this year, but most rooms look like they did in 2012. *Iggies Restaurant is still not opened. Last year we saw signs for 2024, now there are signs for 2025. We did not hear any construction while we were there - which I suppose is a good thing! *Heavenly Days canceled several trips while we were there. While we were not affected by this, other guests mentioned that there was a lot of confusion and not great communication about this. *Guests disregard the "no smoking" rule and are smoking on their porch/balcony. Also, the designated smoking area is located not too far from the restaurant so the smoke smell makes its way in to the restaurant area. *The flies in the restaurant, especially in the seating area over the bar, are horrible. There doesn't appear to be any type of bug zappers. It's not as bad in other areas of the restaurant. *A few of the employees shared their personal situations regarding needing money. While not asked directly for money, it was conveyed that giving a generous tip would be appreciated. *The kayak tour was not much of a tour and the employee who took us out was clearly not happy to have to do so. *We tried a few of the frozen drink options and they all taste the same. Our visit was not bad by any means, and we still had fun. I think it's important for anyone considering a stay at Bolongo and the associated cost to stay there, to be informed about the good and not so good so they can make a well-informed decision and set expectations accordingly.

    Hidden gem!

Outstanding resort. Laid back and perfect for an easy-going stay. The service, staff, food and atmosphere are all 5-star. It's a smaller, understated all-inclusive but excels at the guest experience. This was our first visit, but we'll definitely be back.

    Good times and tan lines

Such an amazing experience! Food was outstanding! Staff was amazing and very welcoming. Gave us great recommendations on taking a tour around the island. Only downfall is the showers are very small. Definitely not a make or break tho! Can’t wait to come back!
