Dec 03, 2024Not a bad hotel, needs some updates.
The rooms we had were spacious and the views were great. It was stocked with everything we needed and more (towels, kitchenware, blankets, soaps)- everything besides food which you can get on property or down the road. It was really convenient to have restaurants and excursions on the property. Housekeeping was great- they did a good job cleaning our room! The front desk was good too. It was an easy drive from the airport. The check-out is earlier than other hotels- 10 AM is early compared to others. I wish they told us more about the area/places/amenities/services on the resort. When we checked in, the elevator was out of service, it would have been nice if they offered to help us, since our room was on the 3rd floor. Yes, the rooms are dated and in need of maintenance, yes the toilet flushes really loud. We moved rooms after night 2 because the AC didn't work. The TV stopped working too. In our new room, a lamp was broken- at that point I didn't want to go through the maintenance thing again. IF you are considering staying here, check everything in your room once you get in it, and check your bill/invoice that they drop off to your room (mine had charges on there that were not suppose to be.) I would recommend that they update the rooms, make sure things are in working order. Let the guests know more about the resort upon check in. We learned about the shuttle to the market, via a security guard- that something that should be stated at check-in. This is not a bad hotel, it just needs to fix somethings. They were working on one of the pools while we were there, and the elevator was working after our 1 week stay. If these are any indications that Simpson Bay Resort is heading in the right direction by fixing the hotel, I would stay there again- with hopes that things are better.

Very nice resort made even better by the staff at the beach bar. Especially Mayelin, our amazing waitress! She was so much fun and made our experience even better! The food at the bar was very good as well. Great prices and portions. Thank you, Mayelin for a great experience!

Mayelin rocks!!
Mayelin at Cocos is the best! She is attentive, fun, responsive and always great to see. We look forward to seeing her each day we go down to the bar! You are lucky to have her! Please let her know how much we enjoyed her! We go back again and again so we can see her.

We went here as a couple and we enjoyed our stay. We unfortunately had to change room since we were flooded. It could have been avoided if the seal around the bottom of the door step was really sealed, but we have to say it rained down pretty intensely (so the drains couldn’t evacuate the water efficiently). Roads on the resort a pretty bumpy and can be tough on your rental car (especially if you have a low car like we had). Staff is friendly and serviceable. Our room was clean and well stocked (we had one with kitchenette). There is plenty of restaurants around to chose from, the casino also has dealers in the evening, and you can have access to 2 beaches on the resort.

Can I just stay here?
Everything was amazing! The room impeccable, the ac cold, & the vibes of the people unmatched. Special shout out to Mayelin, Ziggy & Metal at the bar. They made me feel like family. The kindness & care was superb, not to mention the great views & drinks while I enjoyed the water. Highly recommend!
