Excellent vacation. We want to go back!
We just got back 9 days ago, from one of our best vacations ever. A week was definitely not enough for us. Check in was fairly quick. Unfortunately, we didn't get the village that I had requested (Estrellas) but Nubes offered beautiful views too. One glitch was that we needed at least one room with 2 queen beds for our 2 adult children but we're given 2 king rooms. My daughter said she would take the pullout couch but upon opening it up, it was in terrible shape and unusable. Back to the lobby to request another room. It was a 2 hour wait to have it cleaned, but at least it had 2 queen beds. Their toilet often didn't flush well ( someone did try to fix it) but they made do somehow. We noticed the toilet paper is scented. No bueno, as scented paper can cause UTIs in women. I was glad I brought 2 rolls from home but the maid removed our roll when it was only 2/3 done. 😕The beds were every comfortable. There was always hot water, after letting it run for about 2 minutes. The water is fine for brushing your teeth. They did replenish whatever we used from the minifridge, daily. Mostly bottled water. The chocolates that were brought to our rooms one night were the best! I wish we could get them here. La Suiza is the brand. I loved the marble that was used in the countertops and floors. The balconies had beautiful west views of the bay. There was plenty of storage for our clothing. There was a safe, bathrobe, and iron which we never used. The A/C was great when you figured out to set it at it's coldest. The flora and fauna throughout the resort were stunning. Kudos to the garderners for all they do. We always had breakfast (and most meals) at the buffet. Omar at the omelette station was great! A quiet guy but always made my omelette perfectly. There was only one day when we had a hard time finding something tasty for supper. I believe it was Wednesday. Theme days every day at the buffet. One day we ate at the Solarium a-la-carte. The people there were very hard-working and our meals came quickly. After breakfast, we always spent a couple of hours at the adult pool. We never had a problem getting loungers there, usually around 10 am. The pools were clean and not over- chlorinated. Bar service at the pool started at 11 and the servers were very attentive. Wifi was hit and miss there. The resort is very spread out among the hills, so not great for the mobility-challenged. We often chose to walk to and from our rooms (3236 and 3256) which helped work off the extra calories from the food and drink. It was very humid there, so we did take the shuttles often as well. We never had more than a 10 minute wait for a shuttle and sometimes only a minute (all in the timing) except for our last day. Most of the shuttle drivers were very nice and they all worked very hard. Their English was pretty good. The maids were difficult to converse with as they seemed to know little to know English. Time to brush up on our Spanish! We had beige-ish wristbands so we were able to benefit from whatever those in the BBC area did too. The only thing we used from that was top shelf drinks from the bar. Yum...Baileys! The nightly entertainment was great. The team has so much energy! I only wish the karaoke night was longer than an hour, as it took me that long to get the nerve to do it, but.was told it was stood late because a band would be playing at 10pm. The Vibe HUX band was very good. We went on a tour set up through Julio from Nexus Tours/NextTravel through WestJet. He was a wealth of information. The tour to the cascading waterfalls deep in the Mexican jungle with DonJulio was fantastic! We met up with a couple who are in my Facebook group that I created for the resort. It's called "Las Brisas Huatulco for Fun!" That made our vacation even more fun! As for the last day shuttle experience, that one caused us some anxiety. Checkout was at noon and our ride to the airport was to leave at 12:30. We called for a shuttle at 11:55 am. Called 2 more times and in the meantime, my daughter ran down to the lobby to let them know at the Westjet desk, that we were still waiting to be taken down there. Finally 40 minutes after the first call, a shuttle came. We checked out quickly, took some pics with our new friend from my group as well as our driver, Charles, who was also on our tour of the Falls. All in all, it wa sa fantastic vacation at a beautiful resort in a beautiful city. We would definitely return. As a matter of fact, we would love to be at LB permanently. 😀

Wait in Heat for car to pick up
The inconvenience of having to wait 20min outside of our room for a car to pick us up and get us from the room to the lobby, pool, or the buffets is pretty frustrating. Their buffet is ok, the selection of food they put out is not the greatest. I saw myself spending more money eating out.

Just the best!
My husband and I did a 10 day vacation November 9th to 18th, having travelled extensively thru Mexico, decided we needed to experience Huatulco. La Brisa, although an older resort has a sense of style and service rarely seen these days. Clean and comfortable, attentive staff, fabulous beaches with easy access- safe to swim and snorkel. The ala carte restaurants have a selection of seafood that was delicious and the buffet covered everything including fine Mexican cuisine. The Botanical Garden is lovely, with tours in the morning -bright and early to experience the many types of birds in the area. The entertainment in the evening was terrific and very professional. This resort is not for the party crowd. Go for the beach, the laid back feel and the down to earth charm of this fabulous resort. You have easy access by taxi to various towns on the coast that offer a charm rarely found these days. Bravo to this community for keeping development to a minimum, embracing the environment and the authentic feel of Mexico. We would recommend and are already planning our return

Overall great trip, awesome staff and beautiful place!
The 2 closest beaches are the best for swimming and snorkle (protected from surf), and have top notch beach service for drinks. Rooms, staff and site transportation are very good. Food is average at best, some meals are better than others, buffet is best since there are many options and you can find preferred foods and those that are freshly prepared. Breakfast omelet bar and fruit selection is great, the other breakfast foods (bacon/sausage/ham and related) are hit and miss some were cold and seemed to have been prepared some days before.

Walking Paths 3 (if this is a struggle for you) Safety 9 Restaurant comfort 4 not enough cooling Language 6 lots of staff couldn’t speak English which presented some challenges. Though I should learn more Spanish! Huatulco is the best spot I’ve been to in Mexico. If the Mexicans are going there, it has to be good and half the guests were locals. They claim no crime and I didn’t see any evidence of it. Safe to leave phones etc on your loungers. Definitely will travel to the area again, but it will be to a different resort due to the inaccessibility and the food which was very average. Couldn’t fault the views. Resort is older but clean and well taken care of. As it’s on the side of a hill logistically it creates challenges and therefore a lot of walking or waiting for shuttles. Kept me active for sure. Not a quick pop back to the room if you forget something! On the whole a great vacation.
