Just. No. Save yourself and stay somewhere else
Do not stay here. The rate I paid after taxes / resort fee was $430/night and this is absolutely not worth that price. It feels extremely bottom of the barrel, bargain basement hotel even though it costs this much. At $150 a night all-in, I’d be happy, I guess. All the service and hard product issues aside, what really makes me never want to stay here again is the quality of the beach directly in front of the hotel. It is murky, dirtier and the sand is full of broken coral / rocks. It is much less comfortable to hang out or swim at than the beach that the Westin / Sheraton / Royal Hawaiian are on. I was surprised at the difference in sand quality in such a short distance. On that basis alone, I would choose a different resort. Also, if you are in the back tower you are actually not on the beach, you’re one entire city block away. They have called my room twice, interrupting business meetings, to talk about timeshares. The service is abysmal, which I could have guessed given their refusal to honor Bonvoy benefits even though I showed the front desk manager, in person, the Chase Edit listing explicitly stating they did apply. The breakfast is minimal and has the atmosphere of a Dennys which is regrettable given how beautiful the scenery is just outside. This morning, my travel companion was on a conference call so I went down to breakfast alone and explained that even though we have 2 full breakfasts with our rate, only I could make it and can I take a coffee to go and a pastry for her. They were super aggro about it and said no. Not even a to-go coffee. What a joke. The beach towel are distributed through a vending machine that logs your room key and charges you $20 for each unreturned towel. The towels in the room are old. No robes or slippers, no lotion. The entire place has an abandoned mall vibe. There’s a lot of construction and renovation going on so parts of the main building are covered in tarp. The pool has the atmosphere of a parking structure rooftop. A few pros: housekeeping members are nice. The toilet seat is a Toto Washlet. I regret spending any of my hard earned money here, regret that it’s prepaid, and wish I didn’t book this for the Chase Edit credit. I should have stayed at the resort I was at earlier this week (Moana Surfrider) instead of chasing a few hundred bucks, because moving has really decreased the quality of this entire trip.

Subpar
It’s a subpar hotel … nothing is included. Noisy location, under construction. The beach is laughable. Think of Honolulu as a mini, lame version of Miami. You’re better off going to one of the dozen ABC stores to grab a quick bite than to pay $48 for a breakfast buffet at this hotel.

Excellent experience!
I stayed here from December 9 to December 14 on my first trip to Hawaii, and the experience was excellent. James at the front desk helped me with check-in, and the whole process was incredibly smooth. He was warm, professional, and always happy to answer any questions. I was very satisfied with the room I was assigned. I would definitely come back again. Overall, the experience was wonderful, and the hotel’s location is fantastic—it truly met all of my needs.

Marriott is the dregs
The corporate bean counters for Marriott has taken all the fun out of vacationing at their hotels. The people at the front desk are all depressed. They charge $75 to park There is construction at the hotel They charge $1100 for two adults and two kids for the luau The second floor of the main tower is a ghost town very dirty depressing All of the nice of these that normally accompanies vacationing in Hawaii have been murdered by Marriott There was a time when Marriott had standards, but boy they are awful Avoid this hotel it’s dirty. The people are unfriendly and it’s not worth the money – – unfortunately we spent over $500 per night on two rooms. Go to the outrigger at least they have Dukes and have a lot of stuff going on there.

I will be back to enjoy this resort once again
Very clean hotel and our room was great. The bed was very comfortable. Every staff member we encountered was warm and friendly and they provided us with wonderful service and hospitality. The luau at the hotel was excellent. I highly recommend this resort and will definitely return.
