Needs a massive Makeover!
The Hilton Barbados is situated on a beautiful beach. The bedrooms are very nice and spacious. Everything is very clean. Unfortunately the hotel itself lacks any charm or character. The interior design in the public spaces are depressing, particularly the Bar. The food is very average and it's impossible to get a decent cup of coffee even in the Coffee shop. Everything at the hotel is extremely pricey. Also on top of the high prices are 17 % tax + 10% service charge which the staff said wasn't for them! There is a space on the bill for a TIP so basically you're expected to pay 37% on top of what is already expensive. The staff were all lovely, hard working and friendly. I doubt if I'll ever return!

Unbelievable stay!
We stayed for a wonderful week. Our room was great, 5th floor ocean view. We could also see Carlisle bay out the back. There were so many wonderful things. Room was very clean, lots of space to unpack and organize. Staff was very accommodating when we needed extras of anything. Coffee creamers, water towels pillows. Bring water bottle. There are refill stations on every floor and at pool bar and gym. The beach was awesome and seemed very private. All brand new chairs and umbrellas. There was never a shortage of any and unlimited towels. The pools looked great but we love swimming in ocean. We ate at poolside bar 4 times. Everything we had was great, from fish to burgers and pizza. Prices are a bit high with all the fees then if you go off site. We also did grab and go at the cafe in lobby, muffins, egg sandwiches, yogurts for breakfast, and sandwiches and salads for lunch. The sage cafe, a short walk from hotel, great breakfasts and lunches. Extremely nice staff. Slow casual atmosphere. If you want to pick up snacks close by, Rubies gas station shop had great prices. We got beers, mixers and snacks for our room. We picked up liquor and wine at duty free in the airport. We ate off site a lot. There are wonderful restaurants off Hastings boardwalk. Tapas, naru to name a few. Worth taking a walk. Make reservations. We also ate at the sipping room and 6 mix. All very good with great cocktails and wines As far as activities go, I wish we did more because they were so fun. Husbands golfed at Barbados golf club and had so much fun. We did the sunset cruise with cool runnings and it was awesome. And we did the e-bike morning tour. Soooo much fun. We booked all through hotel desk, they were very helpful. Book in advance. In the end our flight was cancelled to go home so we got an extra day. Hotel staff were so helpful when we were stressing out. We will return!

Exceptional customer service, amazing stay. Would come back here 🙂
I loved my time at the Hilton. Staff customer service was exceptional, especially Angela, Shaquan, Danielle, Rashide, and the manager, Sophia! All the staff went above and beyond to ensure that I had an amazing stay. I loved the views of the ocean, and the private balcony. The food was great at all the restaurants; I really enjoyed trying local cuisine at Bajan Grill and getting ice cream at Cuppa Cafe. The breakfast was great as well. The room was always super clean (housekeeping does a lovely job) and I had no complaints during my stay. The bathroom had a shower and bathtub which was really nice. Overall — 10/10!

Poor Value For Money
This hotel has a great location with beautiful ocean views and a lovely beach but it is most definitely not a luxury hotel. Although the ocean front rooms are a good size and the beds are comfortable, rooms are not well maintained. Our room had a torn and worn headboard which made it look unsavoury. The standard of cleanliness in the hotel leaves something to be desired, with tables left unwiped and glasses left in corridors. The men’s toilet off the main restaurant was an indescribably disgusting and filthy place which should never exist anywhere near an eating venue. (See photo) The reception is understaffed with long check in queues and receptionists who appear to have to telephone housekeeping before allocating rooms resulting in very long waits. I was kept waiting a couple of hours for my room despite other people being given rooms keys who arrived up to an hour later than me. In the end I had to stand at reception until I was accommodated. There are no special arrangements for those who have late flights and I was refused to keep my room after 11 am meaning we had a very long wait in the lobby where most seats were occupied most of the day. The price charged per night is way higher than this hotel is worth and I would not choose to stay here unless for 1 night on a cheap rate. In summary the hotel is not well managed.

Excellent stay and great customer service
Having read some of the reviews before we travelled we were a bit apprehensive about the hotel being tired and worn and staff not being interested in doing their jobs . However we found the staff very helpful ,friendly and engaging . Our stay as Diamond members was immediately recognised and we were given a complimentary upgrade to a premier ocean view room with King bed. The check in process was very friendly and efficient and all the information we needed was provided . The room was clean and well maintained and spacious . The ladies servicing the room were always friendly and ensured a very high standard of service . The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice including an egg station and again all the staff including the chef at the station were very friendly and the food was very fresh . We used the poolside bar every day and some evenings and found it to be a perfect place to chill enjoy a couple of drinks and snacks and listen to or watch the entertainment provided . There is a happy hour from 5-6 and it is very good value . We also used the rum bar and it was a very relaxing place to have a late night glass of wine . The hotels beach and pool area are immaculate and there are numerous different areas to sit depending on your preference There are plentiful sunbeds and umbrellas and no one feels the need to rush out before 6am to ensure they get a bed . Like every hotel I have stayed in there is always some refresh required but in general this is a well maintained and staff continually clean up This has been a fantastic hotel with great service and staff . We would definitely return here .
