    Great service & lovely views

Beautiful location and great service! Kala, our server, was wonderful. We enjoyed dining outdoors with a view. The portions are big, so very share-able!

Great Resort, Nice Pool, Great Restaurant.

Our family of four stayed here for 5 nights on the second leg of our vacation. This was a great location as a jumping point to get out and explore all sides of the island. The location is very close to the airport but far enough away that we never heard air traffic. There are also no other resorts nearby so it had a private vibe to it. The resort itself is in the middle of some renovations but everything we saw throughout the buildings and along the grounds was in excellent shape. Our room was very clean, beds comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job each day of straightening up while we were out. We did quite a bit of hiking/exploring, so being tired, we ended up eating at the resort restaurant Naupaka & Shutters lounge 3 of the nights. At Naupaka, the food was fantastic, came to the table quickly, and cooked to perfection! I was surprised since there were not too many reviews when we looked online. The restaurant manager Rose was awesome! When asking about our dinner on the first night, we chatted for a minute and she shared some of her favorite spots to visit on the island. She was super nice and helpful; such a great asset to the resort. The other two nights we just got takeout from Shutters lounge. For takeout, you can order from either menu since they share the same kitchen. This was a great option when tired and the live music was really nice while waiting for the food to come out. We did not try breakfast here but I would definitely recomend either restaurant for lunch/dinner. The pool area was really nice, very clean, and close to beach access. The beach is walkable and pretty, but water is rocky and not made for swimming. There is a great beach for swimming/snorkeling a very short drive up the road from the resort called Lydgate beach; go here for that. Overall, the resort was fantastic and perfect for our family vacation!

    FABULOUS!!

This was our 2nd stay. We love the resort. It was not owned by Outrigger the 1st time we stayed. We had a great room with a great view. We LOVE your pools. We had an AMAZING time in Kauai. We loved Saddie at the front desk. She was so nice, extremely welcoming and very knowledgeable. We loved that you gave us water bottles and a thin backpack when we arrived. We used them daily. Housekeeping was perfect, they did a great job. My only small complaint would be that the water refill machine on the 5th floor was broken. That would have been convenient but no biggie. We will definitely stay there again. Again Saddie was fabulous!!

A tired hotel which you are paying top dollar for!

A tired resort in the process of renovation but still charging top dollar. Our room had a full sea view and in a great location. (4213) But it needed total redecoration as the wall paper and carpets were marked and tired. The internet was sporadic and kept dropping out, and needed the installation of USB charging ports so that people’s phones and electronics can be charged up. Come on this is 2025!! We did receive a letter stating that they were upgrading the internet as part of the renovations….. The air con was good and the room was kept clean by Lerma and her staff. If you leave your doors open you can hear the waves hitting the shore and rocky ledge. The reception staff were generally helpful, but will not let you book a late checkout until the morning of leaving … there is car port parking which is usually rammed full with barriers preventing you using the valet parking area! ( which was quite empty and closest to the hotel) The restaurant served well prepared breakfasts either all in buffet or a la carte menu. They understood gluten-free options and were able to suggest what to have. We ate an evening meal in the restaurant and one in the bar. Both were good and tasty. Again the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool area is particular spotless with several pools to choose from and set out with 5 waterfall and a slide. The beach is small and behind a rock ledge which can be seen at low tide. No effort was made at all to use the beach or keep it clean and tidy. It is covered with driftwood, rocks and micro plastic. If you are lucky you may see a seal or turtle on the beach. It is NOT a swimming or snorkelling beach ! Its location is near to the airport, but we did not hear any aircraft noises. Just be aware that there are additional charges to stay here: Resort fee + tax per room per night Car parking nightly charge + tax ( should be part of your nighty charge or resort fee) Valet parking = US$10 added to nightly charge. Early check in before 4pm = $50 + tax Late check out = US $ 25 + tax per hour For a 4 night stay this added $ 493.08 to our bill with no food or beverage charges being taken into account. Don’t forget the tipping of the hotel staff at 20% -25% as though you haven already paid enough! At that level you are virtually paying their wages!! Big Al’s Top Tips If booking through a travel agent remember the additional charges for early check in and late check out, as this cost us an additional $200 + tax…. Particularly when linking flight times to your stay. A lot of people ordered food into the hotel as it was cheaper than their prices! Don’t use this hotel if you want a beach resort and able to swim in the sea! Follow me for more travel tips around the world.

    Wonderful stay

Elsa very kind and was great at her job. She would clean our room very thoroughly and she should teach a course on how to make a bed. She is very talented. The hotel swimming pool is wonderful 2 hot tubs with different heat. 3 or 4 large pools with waterfalls. The only thing I had an issue with was parking. $30 a night, I thought that was excessive, but other than that wonderful resort and beautiful island. Will be coming back in the future.
