A trip of a life time, scenic with beautiful ocean waves!

Awesome service out at the pool, met Gracea she was personable - she shared some ideas on what to see. She helped make our trip memorable!! Wyndham and Outrigger have a beautiful location, nested in their own village. Beautiful entrance with cattle and horses on each side.

    Great pool bar!

Gracia was an excellent bartender at the pool bar. Gave us “first timers” great suggestions on where to go to enjoy the water. What a splendid person, wish we had her back home! Amanda also helped us find our way around the island; can’t wait to come back to Kauai. Excellent sunrise!

Lovely beachside location, but overpriced for what you get

This resort is in a lovely location, right on the beach and away from the busy highway. The gardens and pools are well tended, and the staff helpful and polite. Our garden room was on the 3rd floor and overlooked the driveway. In my opinion, it was overpriced, with charges for just about everything, including car parking - and the wifi, “complimentary” drink bottles, safe, yoga and any activities were not complimentary at all- apparently this is what the resort fee covers. That being said, our room was ok but the floor was dirty, and the plug in the bath didn’t work. The resort is in a lovely location, but I feel that more should be done to clean up the plastic and debris on the beach.

    A quiet place to relax

We stayed for 7 days in November as a couple celebrating our anniversary. It was our first experience of Hawaii. I selected this them based on the location on the island and the pools, slides, hot tubs and beach access. As others stated the staff were always friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was above expectations with lots of quality options. They had live music almost every night it seemed. The pools/hot tubs were clean and good temperature. The staff was working hard every day to keep the grounds and the rooms clean. The rooms furniture was not super comfortable and a little dated but we made it work. For example we had to go to the lobby to play cards as there was no table that would work in the room. We used the concierge to schedule some events and that was a helpful feature. Not sure if it saved us or cost us more, but she was friendly and we appreciated her help. It is close to the airport which makes getting an uber 10$ and take no time at all. I would also recommend you use Turo or Rent a car at the airport as the options they had at the hotel were stupid expensive. Nothing is with in walking distance so you will want a car or plan to get rides. Some events will pick you up at the hotel, but unlike other resorts there is nothing close. The beach: Easy access and a great morning walk. You can go to the right and end up in a very private spot that is lagoon like. Or you can walk to the left for miles and enjoy a lot of the cost line. We found lots of areas were open to hang out and enjoy. Improvements: Some areas showed neglected maintenance peeling paint, broken concrete in walkways etc. Not huge, but as a handyman I saw projects that could be done. As a frequent water consumer, it was not convenient that the ice machine was on the 3rd floor, and the filtered water dispenser was on the 4th floor. So you have to go up and down to fill up your water bottle. I would have also liked to see a microwave on each floor as well. I assume most people just buy drinks thus not a priority. I would still return here again as the staff and location are really great. If you are looking for a super fancy upscale resort you may be disappointed. We did not bring any of our kids but many did and they have a lot more for them to enjoy than other places. The slide and volleyball net were a hit. However they need to get a different ball, as the beach balls were to light (wind) and the real volley balls were too hard on the hands after getting wet and water logged. One of the hot tubs was also in a hour glass shape and small which was not great as no one wants to be that close to strangers in a hot tub. The other hot tub had a waterfall feature that was great and also more room to spread out. I'm trying to provide a lot of info for you the traveler and also for the hotel management. We had a great time and our first exposure to Hawaii was wonderful thanks to the staff and resort. I feel it was a great value and hope you all enjoy yourselves as much as we did.

    A slice of heaven.

My bride and I celebrated our 35th year together there. Everyone was fantastic. Kyrstn (car), Elsa (housekeeping) are two major standouts in representing the Outrigger. Without a doubt, god be willing, we will be back for our 40th anniversary
